Recruiting visits

for the 2nd weekend in a row, UK has hosted a high profile recruit, only to be embarrassed on the court
Two weeks ago it was the Thomas kid, last week end it was Jasper Johnson
There has been no talk of how the visits went as there usually is.
Now supposedly UK is hosting the big 7'2" kid that has become such a hot target.
Will we hear anything about his visit?

Recruiting used to be such a big topic, when there were some insiders that gave us something to think about
Now we get nothing, just like the coach

Changes I would make(Agree to Disagree)

1. Cal has to go. I'm in favor of getting an up and coming coach and let him rebuild this program. Danny Sprinkle is a guy I really like.
2. "Fans" need to stop getting mad when other fans are standing up and cheering on this team.
3. Let the student section be reserved for lower seating. This would greatly improve the atmosphere.I'd also be willing to pay more for some tickets if that allows students to enter for free.
4. Stop letting these people who aren't fans, but have loads of money control the atmosphere. We've heard it time and time again of a fan being kicked out because people dislike the fact that they're being loud and obnoxious. It's a college game, you're supposed to have those people.

Open to discussion, but these are the main 4 things I'd improve.

For Those Not Interested in Attending Tuesday lights Ole Miss Game Please Consider Giving Your Tickets To Someone Who Will Attend.

I know Tuesday nights game might be tough to ask some of our fans to attend due to it’s late night 9PM tip off. Since tickets are transferable electronically please don’t let them go to waste.
Please consider transferring them to someone who might otherwise not ever have a chance to attend a game. A packed Rupp Arena will make for a much tougher game for our opponent.

Can we get some insider intel on the administration re: basketball?

@David Sisk @Jeff Drummond @Travis Graf @JRowland

What is going on inside the program? A well known radio host mentioned that there’s cal fatigue within the administration.

Do you all have any intel? What are MB’s thoughts going forward with Cal? Boosters? Surely there’s some sort of internal discussions happening.

Travis Perry

I know the conversation on here is about Cal, and I agree it is time for a change, we are wore out, Cal is wore out...he coaches games like it was practice. It was refreshing to go to Lyon Co and watch 4 basketball games yesterday. the Number 9 team in state was there Evangical Christian with there 6'9" and 6'10" twin towers with also a 6'7" guy they put on a show soundly thrashing Christian County 90-40 I believe was final score. Then watched number 4 Lyon County take on number 7 Bowling Green with their 6'*8" center..what a game Lyon Co is a super HS team with three guys playing together since second grade, what a well coached team Lyon seemed on cruise control with a 40-27 halftime lead and Perry with 29 at the half. Bowling Green stormed back in second half as Lyon Center Brady Shoulders was saddled with 4 fouls to take the lead and then was tied by Lyon to send to 2 overtimes before Perrys last three making 46 points for him lead Lyon to 90-89 win what a game. I told the guy sitting next to me I sure hoped Calipari did not ruin him...he said Travis is too smart to play for Cal.

New AP Poll

Living in South Carolina, I not sure what is more sickening, the idea of UK losing this week and being out of the poll, or the idea of USC winning this week and being in the Top 10. Painful!

This mess isn’t Cal’s fault

I don’t blame Cal for being paid 10 million a year for average job performance. All of us would take that deal. It is totally on Barnhart who has allowed the crown jewel of KY (UK men’s basketball), along with women’s basketball and baseball to be a total joke. UK football is what it is we don’t have the tradition to ever be more than a secondary bowl team. Barnhart is the one who should be fired and then allow the new AD to clean house with coaches in basketball and baseball. It amazes me how most SEC schools are superior in baseball, women’s basketball and 4-5 have passed UK in basketball. How low do we have to go? Wasn’t worst season in our history and a first round bounce by St Peters enough? Maybe we need to self report violations like UT did so we can fire Cal without pay. Bottom line the athletic department at UK is a train wreck. As a proud Kentuckian living in Tn it is painful to watch.

BB Recruiting Jasper Johnson Visit

Was told that the visit went great, and that if there was a grade on it, it would be an ‘A’. Kentucky did a good job of mixing family history and being personable with Jasper.

There’s still a decision to be made on if he’ll be class of 2024 or 2025, but Kentucky says they’d love to have him in either one. I expect this to be a UK/UNC recruitment.

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- For the first time since Rupp Arena opened in 1976, Kentucky has suffered a three-game losing streak at what was once the most difficult venue for a visiting team to win in college basketball.

Gonzaga made it an unprecedented skid on Saturday, beating No. 17 Kentucky 89-85 before a stunned crowd of 20,186.

The Bulldogs followed Florida and Tennessee in winning on Kentucky's legendary home floor. They did so by following the blueprint that many have used against the young Wildcats this season: playing physically, dominating the glass, and taking advantage of UK's nearly non-existent halfcourt defense. ...
