I Asked Bard.AI (Connected To Internet) To Compare Brock Vandagriff To QB's

Results:

Brock Vandagriff has been compared to several quarterbacks, both current and past. Here are a few of the most common comparisons:

Current:

  • Jarrett Stidham (Las Vegas Raiders): This comparison is often made due to Vandagriff's similar physical attributes and athleticism to Stidham. Both quarterbacks are tall, mobile, and possess strong throwing arms.
  • Carson Beck (Georgia Bulldogs): Vandagriff and Beck are currently engaged in a quarterback competition at Georgia. They are both highly-touted prospects with different strengths and weaknesses. Beck is known for his accuracy and decision-making, while Vandagriff is praised for his athleticism and arm talent.

Past:

  • Jake Fromm (Georgia Bulldogs): Former UGA quarterback Jake Fromm has compared Vandagriff to himself, stating that he sees a "bigger, more athletic" version of himself in Vandagriff. This comparison is likely due to their similar playing styles and leadership qualities.
  • Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills): Some analysts have drawn comparisons between Vandagriff and Josh Allen due to their shared athleticism and arm strength. Both quarterbacks are known for their ability to make plays outside the pocket and extend plays with their legs.

It is important to note that these are just comparisons, and it is ultimately too early to say for sure who Vandagriff will compare to most closely as a professional quarterback. He is still developing his skills and has only limited playing experience at the college level.

2024 Schedule

Seems like a lot of schedules are starting to leak. Here is what I have for us so far. One of those 2 bye week years. Hate 4 straight home games to start but need to beat SC week 2 so being healthy for it would be huge.

Major Rules Changes Coming?

NCAA president Charlie Baker unveiled a proposal Tuesday that could alter the landscape of college sports.

In a letter to Division I schools, Baker outlined the key tenets of − and reasoning for − a proposed shift in governance that would effectively enable big-money athletic departments to directly compensate athletes, by allowing each to create an "enhanced educational trust fund" for them.

The proposal would also allow those same schools, likely the upper echelon of the Football Bowl Subdivision, to branch off and make their own rules surrounding roster size, transfers and name, image and likeness (NIL), among other issues.

This sounds like an open invitation to let certain schools simply purchase themselves a championship.:(

Buffano, Yenser, Stewart - All returning?

They all have amended contract extensions here. As does Mike Stoops. Saw this link on TOS.

Collins is the only coach on the possible chopping block who doesn’t also have an amended one. His on the website was just signed March of this year though.

Pretty unbelievable tbh. Not necessarily calling for anyone specific to be fired (other than Buffano - he seems completely useless), but feel like we really needed some fresh recruiters with juice.

This Board amazes me at times

Now I’m as critical as anybody of CMS but the range of emotion on this board after knocking off a Top 10 team, albeit an overranked Louisville team but I don’t think folks realize how close we came to watching this entire program burn down last night. When a coach leaves, he takes most of his assistants with him. Now we would find a coach, no doubt, but it would destroy the recruiting class, there would be mass transfers and we would be looking at a minimum of 5 years until we made a bowl game.

Now I don’t know the facts or exactly what happened but I’d have to think the interest was real and so was the offer. I doubt the “fan revolt” down there had much to do with the decision. Maybe he rushed into the decision and after yesterday sat down with his family and they decided as a group that it wasn’t the right time.

We need to make some changes, it’s obvious there will be, but to burn it all down and start over? Who does that serve? We are an impatient fanbase, would we give the next guy the time he needs or be calling for his head year one? I’d rather fix what we have and keep going. From the comments I read here last night and this morning, it seems like a lot of us made comments without thinking them all the way through.

That’s my 2 cents. I’m happy that we still have our coach and some of the staff here. I’m happy we have a very nice recruiting class coming in. Let’s get back to celebrating beating Louisville, wrecking their season, knocking them out of the playoffs and continuing our dominance over the state.

SIAP - So UL press is impressed with their improvements.

After I finished laughing I sat back to gather my thoughts on what I just read. The last couple years of Tubby and the BCG years came to mind. Then I remembered how much better those teams were in comparison to UL.

They need major improvement to even make beating them any fun. Imagine being so bad that "better" play against Bellarmine needs to be noted and applauded.

Rank our players DEFENSIVELY, thus far into the season ...

I know it's very early and they can (and MUST) all improve, but how do you rank our players, based on what you've seen ?? On-ball defense. Subject to change, of course, but here's what my list currently look likes:

Wagner
Thiero
Mitchell
Edwards
Burks
Sheppard (perhaps great potential, but currently gambles too much)
Reeves
Dillingham (perhaps great potential, but currently gambles too much)

Insufficient playing time:
Bradshaw
Onyenso
Ivisic
Hart

Sheppard, Wagner, Edwards, Thiero NIL replica jerseys

FSU can blame UK

I think our defeat of UL the week prior to the UL/FSU title game took the luster out of that game.

I know we took UL's candy. (LOVE THIS!!!!)

UL was 9-1 and riding high going into our game.
Then we beat them at their place and took their mojo.

That UL/FSU game was just ugly to watch. Horrible football.

Their win over a 9-2 team didn't have the pop it had before we beat them.
If UK had lost to UL, they would have been 10-1, top 7 or so.

So, blame UK. That's my belief.

Georgia fan reactions to Vandagriff transferring

-IDK, Kentucky seems to be all about those one and done transfers that have starting experience. But I think Kentucky would be a good landing spot for him. Solid program, good coach, and solid acadamics a little below that of UGA. I wish him the best of luck.

-Wouldn’t be a bad place to transfer. They go bowling almost every season now and their QB situation is a good opportunity for him.

-Kentucky has had physical O lines as well. Good fit for him. Hope he balls out.

-Man, that sucks. I really wanted to see what he could do in this offense. I love the way he runs with the ball.

-I will be pulling for the kid!

-Hate to see it, but I get it. I’m a big Vandagriff fan.

-My pre season pick to lead the Dawgs and a guy I still believe in. I want to see Brock go out and go off. Lead his next team and be successful. Rather see him in the ACC/Big 12 type good team but if the SEC I really hope they have a good OL. I can't wait to see his legs in action.

-I can see it now, wherever Brock transfers he's going to throw for 4,000+ yards, 500+ rushing yards and 40 total touchdown. Our fanbase will completely melt down and the Kirby doesn't start 5 star qb narrative will be back just like that lol.

-I think there's a better fit out there for Brock, he has a lot of ability, it just has to be unlocked.
