Football NSD: Jacob Kauwe will compete for all specialist duties

UK's kicker commit will spend a month or so in Hawaii training during the coldest time of the year in Montana and will plan on competing for all specialist positions when he arrives in Lexington.

Once the P5 conferences split

Once the P5 (soon to be P4) conferences split and break away from the smaller conferences do you think we may see the smaller conferences (AAC, CUSA, MAC, etc.) play during a different time of the year so as to maximize tv time, profits, etc? Think about this. Once February comes, die hard football fans like myself are dying to see any form of college football. I would watch a random MAC game if it were the only college football game on. Nobody is tuning in to watch these games during the normal season.

Does anybody else think this is a possibility? I don't know how logistics would work for signing periods and such or if they could switch it but it would be in their best interest if they could. That way the P4 teams couldn't poach their signees (for a year anyway). This may be their only chance for survival.

BHH??

So when KP is inevitably fired and BHH transfers from UL…..UK could do alot worse than him if they need some depth in the paint. Seems likely we lose everyone in the front court.

AB-draft
Mitchell-graduation
Z-Draft
Ugo-Transfer (def possible)

Might just roll with Adou as only expierence front court guy next year.

BHH is listed at 6’10” 240lbs. Avg 10/10. Guess it would depend on his willingness to accept his roll as experienced depth behind JQ and not focal point.

UK/UL betting thread....

Anybody found any prop steals? I'm about to dig in to the details. BTW what's up with the line? I figured it would be like 19.5?

I'll post if I find anything that looks like an easy winner(no such thing). Interested to hear everyone's bets. I wonder if there's good value in Reeves O/U, he's been down lately but this is a really weak opponent and he should get multiple shots when we're up 10+ and there's no alot of pressure. If the last two games have brought the points o/u down, there may be something there. You also risk that he's in a funk and still can't hit anything.

Squid Games:The Challenge (Netflix)

Anybody watch the recently released series based off the squid games show that released a couple years ago?

Pretty entertaining overall. Started with 456 people. Each player eliminated adds 10k to bank. Winner receives 4.56 million. Was very happy with the winner.

There was one person who truly made my blood boil. Player 278. I hope the way she played has ramifications in her real life. She was a scumbag.

In our regular postgame feature, the Cats Illustrated staff offers its first impressions from Kentucky's 95-76 win over Louisville on Thursday night at the KFC Yum! Center...

JEFF DRUMMOND:

This one followed the pregame script. I had the Cats 91-69 in our pregame picks, and I figured the Cards would play hard and make it interesting for part of the first half before UK's overwhelming talent advantage took over. Louisville simply had no answer for Antonio Reeves, who exploded for 30 points. Throw in double-doubles for Tre Mitchell (18 points, 12 rebounds) and Reed Sheppard (11 points, 11 assists) as well as a 12-of-25 shooting night from the 3-point arc, and there was much to feel good about from the Cats. John Calipari wasn't about to try to embarrass the embattled Kenny Payne tonight, and UK's 13 turnovers and tendency to send the Cards to the free-throw line too much helped avoid that uncomfortable situation. Bottom line: a good night for Big Blue.

JUSTIN ROWLAND:

Tough times for the Louisville Cardinals. This one was never in doubt, and that goes for before the game, too. Louisville had no chance to win this game. If Kentucky was locked in and prepared like it was a big game they probably could have won by 40 or 50. Louisville's not good at all. Antonio Reeves got UK cooking in the first half. Reed Sheppard played a complete game. Justin Edwards did some good things. There was a lot to like but this one was expected.

TRAVIS GRAF:

In the first few minutes, you could tell it was Kentucky’s first true road test of the season (Would you call it that? I don’t know, considering the crowd). Once they settled in they took control of the game rather quickly and never looked back. This team just plays so freely and Calipari coaches them that way as well. Antonio Reeves and Tre Mitchell are such big pieces for this team, but the freshmen backcourt duo of Dillingham and Sheppard has special moments of their own. However, I thought that Justin Edwards really started to figure some things out tonight. He’s the last piece that needs to click for Kentucky to be great.

DAVID SISK:

This was about what we expected. Lots of points were scored, but by a different set of players. This game is living proof that you have to pick your poison when guarding Kentucky. Antonio Reeves went on a heater for 30 points. The team was 12-of-25 for 48% from 3, so the fourth-place ranking in that category isn’t going anywhere. The team will have a very Merry Christmas break.
