Kentucky 3-Point Defense

It’s bad … but how much of that is bad luck?

I always think about how dismissive KenPom is to three-point D. In fact, according to him, D has very little influence on how other teams shoot.

To get into the weeds, here is a 2018 article from him which focuses ironically enough on Kentucky.

As my dad would say, teams are shooting out of their *** against us. Hang in there.

Tracy McGrady on NIL: "I watch my Kentucky Wildcats faithfully. I would have taken that [NIL] and gone to Kentucky for sure."

Very interesting perspective. Said he would have signed with Adidas but still went to a Nike school. Also said his only regret is not having played in a March Madness. Does Pitino go to the Celtics if McGrady had gone to UK?

NIL Deals

Can anyone imagine what our athletic department would look like if we had someone who was all the way in on NIL. Not just Basketball and Football. We would be able to upgrade and expand our facilities to attract more athletes. But that won't happen with Barney there. Ditch Mitch and get a General Manager from a professional team to come in and run the joint. Looking for some feedback from Big Blue Nation. Emojis and GIFs are extremely welcomed.

An Uncynical Slapshot!

So it looks like we got:
An Oline coach that helped recruit some of our best talent, in his previous stop.

A head coach that other schools are actually interested in: we are no longer the grave yard of Coaches.

An OC that said he wanted to put down roots but that everyone, nationally takes seriously and as a hot commodity.

A DC that has been labeled genius, and that is a genius.

Wide receivers that rallied the final third of the Sophomore Slump season, making it a tad more interesting than most thought after Columbia, SC.

A 5 star QB that's not only played, but threw a TD against us last season.

Running backs few have heard of, other than more than 40 schools that (collectively) offered them schollies.

Okay....I guess it's time to start thinking about the 12 team playoff.

AP drops Kentucky 4 places

to 10th ; Duke moves up 5 spots to #7.

More than I expected, given other teams' losses in the Top 10.
