College sports is a bizillion dollar industry and I agree the players should get some of the pie. The thing is it’s starting to hurt the landscape that we once enjoyed here at UK, especially with bball! We have not been good since 2015 and that is 9 yrs now on going. Why are we still going through this. Most coaches at any school don’t get that leverage. We have missed the tourney what 3x since and only 1 elite 8 which going to the elite 8 and celebrating it is garbage. We continue to watch other programs have better success and be more consistent. We will be nothing more than a 6 seed in tourney at best all while probably leading the nation in scoring. We will get a 6/7 seed in SEC tourney and get punked in 1st or 2nd game because well we aren’t good as a whole. I tried to be all in but it’s really hard when it’s about individual brand versus Team. There is more reporting on NIL deals with individuals than that of what are we doing to improve. Cal has totally gone dark with his talking and taking responsibility. The excuses are the same and thinks we are stupid. There has to be some pride in the name UK bball. I just don’t see that long term and it’s not good. This is unacceptable! Someone needs to answer the questions of what is gonna be done, bc having another 10 loss season is unacceptable and that’s where things are headed and it could be sooner than later. UT will come in here an beat us by dble digits (I will not watch that game) and it will be ugly and will be loss 6 with 9 more games to go and be 5-4 in league play and may only end up 10-8 at best. Which will be 10/11 losses going into conference tourney and 12 losses going into NCAA tourney and at best a 6/7 seed! Very very disappointing and unacceptable!

The man almost never gets all over an official. UF has pushed and hacked their way thru the whole game. Just took Dilly out because of the push. Sickening

I don’t think I could work as an announcer because I couldn’t get on the air and say the same things for every single game every year for an entire career. Some things they say really annoy me:

“Buzz saw.” No one says buzz saw for any reason other than sports; online does say sometimes circular saws are called buzz saws, but no. It’s a stupid expression; all power saws buzz. Can they not think of anything other than “buzz saw,” or “gauntlet,” to describe a tough schedule?

“He can really score in bunches when he gets going.” Every player that gets going scores in bunches. Is there some other way to get going without scoring in bunches? I mean, besides of course, “lighting it up?” This one just a redundant statement of redundancy.

These are two of my announcer speak pet peeves. What are some of yours?

By the way, I don’t get musicians singing the same 1 to 3 words 25 times in a single song either. Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie, Bennie and the jets.

….. you don’t even give them a chance at a 3 pointer.

For two reasons

1. That’s church night for a lot of folks so you miss the game or most of it.

2. It feels like FOREVER since we’ve played on Saturday.

This team like i mentioned earlier in the year just isn’t anywhere near elite. They are not winning anything. It’s symptomatic of Cal’s overall failure these last several years. So time to focus on the next era. It should be everyone’s focus. It’s here. And I think it begins next year. Let’s start getting excited for Cal’s exit and what’s next:

Cal deserves to lose this game for that......... letting the better FT shooter inbound the ball .... there needed to be a timeout and a plan to get Reeves or Shep the ball there. ugh.. Even if we win , Im furious at Cal for stupidity like that
