Such a breath of fresh air…

To not always have someone sitting due to (alleged) injuries. It seems like under Pope, if you’re healthy, you play.
Naturally Arkansas has two starters injured in Aidoo and Brazile. I watched them last night and literally nothing has changed. As soon as I flipped it on it was a baseline out of bounds. They did the ol’ lob into Z in the corner and Ark-Little Rock stole it.
I am so glad I don’t have to watch us inbound the ball like that anymore. I watched it too and noticed all the old Cal stuff. It’s like watching a carbon copy of our last 5 or 6 teams. The terrible offense, bad inbounding. Coasting after getting a lead, and turning it over too much. They hang their hat on. Ring more athletic than the teams they play. If they played any team so far that could match them athletically they would lose. Just like Baylor.

What a STOOPID PLAY CALL!!!

Wilcox started the game and got 11 carries.
DSK rotated in and got 9 carries.
they are the only two backs we played.

Wilcox is still having issues on protection.
Good god man. If you benched every player on offense when they have protection issues, you would have to bench the entire OL, including the Center and both TE's.

Wilcox is obviously in CMS doghouse and I have a pretty good idea why he is.

Does Brea have a chance to have the highest 3FG percentage in ncaa history?

Brea's #s can go down and we'll be fine so long as the rest of the team makes shots. We're at 42% as a team, and Kriisa isn't even hitting. He's still sub 30% right now from three.

I love that you can't help off anyone from the 1-4 spots. Now that Butler is making threes (5/11 on the season), it's only going to make this team that much more dangerous.

This team would have to have an epically poor shooting night in the first weekend to be sent home early. There's just too many good weapons, and unlike last year, we have at least three elite defenders (Oweh, Butler, Williams) and three more who are above average (Robinson, Carr, and Garrison).

This team should be in at least the Sweet Sixteen when it's all said and done.
Butler has decent form too, I think he can shoot a good percentage if he takes good shots.

Hamdan offense

Vaught said it on the radio today, I'm fairly certain I and others have said it on this board.

Hamdan has got to be given a blank check to clean offensive house, bring in his own staff and players. It's pretty much that simple.

UK can significantly increase whatever the Boise St assistants are making if that's who Hamdan wants/needs to bring in. A lot of their roster would probably be an improvement at least in terms of consistency, production, success within Bush's system.

Guys, it's not rocket science. We're not 2-3, hell even 5 years in. WE'RE 12 YEARS IN. We know who and what the issues are. They've persisted over the course of all 12 years which means it's not any OC or QB...

The issue has always been offensive recruiting, development/coaching, production and the philosophy of what those look like in this modern era.

That may mean some hard discussion with some folks that have been with CMS the longest. His boys, his crew. Marrow may need to be given another role, or at least removed from recruiting offense. Outside of running backs, the players he is recruiting aren't producing consistently enough at a high level. See above state about issue persisting basically from the get-go. There's really only a couple of common denominators. We've had a dozen OCs, a lot of different offensive positional coaches...TWO GUYS RECRUITING THE TALENT FOR ALL OF THEM!

Gran, next on the list. He hasn't been here from day one, but he's been here a while now and I think it's obvious he still has some influence. There's a couple of other fellas in the crew as well.

Long story short, Stoops needs to find some different roles for his boys if doesn't want to flat out boot them. He needs to find a different role for himself as well. Meaning, get out of the offensive side. He needs to wipe his hands clean strictly be defensive, name Hamdan or somebody else AHC/Offense. Let them see what they can do for a season or two.
Agree. Hamdan did a good job at Boise but they had a good o line. Our o line sucks as does the coach. It’s not all Hamdans fault.

POLITICAL THREAD

I just don't know how America can go on without Ellen Degeneres.

I understand people wanting to live in other countries, but leaving America because you think it is going to hell in a hand basket is hard to imagine, if you love the country. Had Harris won, I would have really worried about the future of this country, but running from the fight would not have been an option.

"Would you like to buy a piece of Alex Jones?"

Let’s stay on topic. Jones swore under oath that he searched his phone (i.e., opened the text app and searched for “Sandy Hook”) and found zero messages.

Was Jones’ sworn testimony about there being no messages on his phone true?
Or how about this.... Maybe I don't get why you are so upset about this case. What do you think Jones did in secret that needs him to be run out of polite society forever? Maybe I just haven't heard that side of the story. I thought this was just a case of a dude saying something bad online.

I was just thinking about all the different ways this season is such a breath of fresh air around here...

Shall we begin to enumerate the ways?

Fresh Air : A new coach with a genuine passion to coach here at Kentucky and a desire to live up to the greatness of the name of the university he coaches for....

Fresh Air : Having an experienced team full of shooters!

Fresh Air : Having a head coach that runs an exciting system with a well constructed roster!

Fresh Air : Seeing great in game adjustments, smart & complimentary player substitutions, and an all out attitude of hustle, not taking any plays off, or taking anything for granted!

Fresh Air : listening to a coach post game and seeing a huge throng of happy fans stay to hear what he says...

Fresh Air: Beating dUKe!

Fresh Air : Seeing rejuvenated fans and a new sense of unity!

Fresh Air : shedding trepidations of the recent past and embracing the bright future of opportunity!

Honestly, there's so many reasons to be happy and to look towards the future with an optimistic view that has been lacking around here.

A huge gust of fresh air, if you ask me!
