"Would you like to buy a piece of Alex Jones?"

Always important when having a discussion online to use your actual words and thoughts and not repeatedly post various tweets as your arguments. I often see this tactic used here and what happens is the person you're engaging with has to speak to you but also is expected to address several tweets from others not involved with the current discussion. Imagine having a disagreement with someone face to face and one person begins holding up index cards with other people's thoughts on them as an argument lol.

Other than that, I'm enjoying reading all this but yeah, imo you've lost the fight once you begin digging up random tweets in place of your own thoughts on the subject.

CI Wrestling Thread #56

Belt collectors usually opt for titles from the 80s and 90s that aren't $500-$700. You can get them off ebay and send them to someone who'll repair any damaged leather or scuffs on the plates. Newer titles or customized spinner belts though? Ugly as sin, same as the sports logo ones. But yeah, I've seen displayed replica IC belts or the Winged Eagle title in cases online and if you're hardcore into wrestling and collecting unique stuff is your thing, they do look nice.

I’m not opposed to belt collecting, same as anything else. If I had a man cave type setup a Winged Eagle or Big Gold would look nice on the wall.

Cal's honeymoon at Arkansas is already over

Ehh I have to be honest. I was beyond pissed at Cal a few months ago. Now I’ve become entirely apathetic. I feel like we got the right guy now and I’m just happy. I don’t even wish Arkansas to be bad. When we play them, I want to win by 36 and rub it in real good but my disdain for Cal has dissipated significantly as I’ve watched Arkansas become the 2022-2023 Kentucky team all over again. I’m actually beginning to feel bad for the guy. It’s still early but Pope has me feeling like he could be the ultimate Kentucky coach…perhaps he could one day be the second best we ever had!

For you old timers, Whatever happened to Larry Johnson who played PG for us from 1973-1977

I distinctly remember LJ trying to chase Phil Ford all over the floor withUNC Chicken$hit playing a 4 corner stall ( no shot clock era) so they could beat the best team in the NCAA tournament.
That game ingrained my deep, deep dislike for Dean Smith and UNCheats.

Old timers

These guys were a little before my time, but I know the names... I just turned 11 when the Cats beat Duke in St. Louis in 78 ... learned to hate UNC and Dean Smith in 77... went to my first game in 76 in Memorial and wondered why the fans kept booing one of our players until my Dad explained they were all chanting "Goose! Goose!" not "Boo!" I guess I watched some of the 75 team on TV, remember asking what UCLA stood for.
You're bout the same age as me. 75 is the first team I can remember much about. I learned about the players before that from my dad and reading "The Rupp Years" and "Basketball: The Dream Game in Kentucky" during the winters of 77 and 78 while we were snowed out of school for a month.

Hamdan offense

Improved even.

Wilcox does fine in pass pro. Dsk is better but Wilcox is far from lost

I have no issue with an oc getting his own guys but if our goal is to be Boise east, we need way bigger goals. That isn't cutting it in this sec

Lets be honest - qb and ol are the only two positions that struggled on o. Bush coaches qb.

His assistants are not the problem.

Boise St has winning football history, culture, standards. I'll take whatever mojo they have over what we got right now and run to the bank. Especially on offense. They've always had consistently productive offenses in recent memory, over the last 20 years or so. Bush has been a part of that as a player and coach.

We need a change in mentality, culture overall. To do that you have to have a change in recruiting, developing, coaching, teaching way of doing things at the positional level. The HC has to change how he approaches or doesn't approach O and all those factors.

Whatever CMS and the guys he's had specifically the last 3-4 years isn't cutting it the SEC. We're regressing in almost every regard.

Not even as good of a run team as we were. Obviously never been a passing team, but at least we could move and even score on the ground. Really have regressed in that department now too.

Just time for change.
