I posted the following in the Lots of bitter people out there thread: "There are a number of fans who love Kentucky, but don't like Cal no longer being the coach. Those fans were very vocal leading up to the start of the season. There were plenty of messages talking about what Kentucky didn't have as opposed to what it does have. That bunch hasn't gone anywhere, and they haven't been converted to loving the Pope hire. They are a quiet storm just waiting to explode. The trigger point for this storm is a couple of poor performances resulting in loses."
The poster who started this thread is a perfect example of a member of the quiet storm who is just waiting for an opportunity to trash Pope. He is obviously having problems staying quiet, so while he is waiting, he decided that a little gaslighting would be fun. I bet this "Big UK fan... thinks Arkansas belongs in the top 20 maybe even the top 10. We see you, so how about stopping the BS?

He is no fun at parties and nor is he a Big UK fan. He is a Big Cal university fan.
There are lots of positive things about this team and coaching staff so far. Kentucky has a roster capable of winning the SEC.

Those folks just look at how many stars players had in HS. That may've worked not long ago but the portal has changed college basketball. How many highly rated recruits did we have that never panned out here? Sure some have been studs from the jump but they're few and far between. We've seen the experienced squads go the farthest in the Tournament. Pope did a magnificent job identifying the guys that would work in his system in short order and he'll be selective I'd imagine at trying to get those HS studs to fill in with some older players. And he won't play favorites or make promises.
This is about as troll of a post as it gets. Uk played like garbage in the first half and still ended up winning on a neutral floor. Duke did not get anything near UKs best shot. Lamont Butler missed 2 or 3 layups himself in the first half. Amare Williams missed several bunnies as did Oweh. We missed a ton of wide open 3s that we make most of the time.
Duke is lucky we was ice cold in the first half or this is a double digit loss for them. Not to mention we had several of our best players sitting with 2 fouls in the first half. Krissa, Butler and Jax went a combined 3 for 13 from 3 in this game. That's not happening very often. Amare Williams went 3 for 13 from point blank range that's not happening very often. Duke had a good gameplan which was to hack and push with their lower body. The refs let it go in the first half but started to call them in the 2nd half. Dukes goal was to muddy up this game and slow the tempo and it worked but they still lost lol.

Yeah man, we’re all just fans. In the heat of moment or in the build up to these games we all sometimes say something silly. It doesn’t make any of us less of a fan.

Did you ever stop to think that the reason Duke shot bad was because of the defense UK played against them? Did you not see UK have an off night shooting for them and still beat the number 6 team in the country? Dume is a really really good team. They are better than UT. I don’t know what else you have to see to convince you that UK is also a really really good basketball team. Now UK will lose some games but it isn’t because they are a bad team
OP is getting crucified but I don’t think it’s THAT outrageous of a take to say we’re ONLY top 20. I think most people would be very happy with top 20 going into the year.
I personally feel we’re in the 7-12 range but finishing around 15-20 is within the realm of possibilities

To be honest I didn’t get these types of vibes at all. Not sure where “thinking we may not be top 10” = “I love Cal”. You could say it’s pessimistic, but it has nothing to do with Cal
