The answer to why we should care is a bit nuanced and requires historical context. With out writing an essay, it comes down to balance of power and distrust of Russian power. Western Europe / NATO is an alliance of democracies. We are free people who can only remain free by preventing spread of authoritarianism and invasion in our own countries. In order to promote security, we aligned with Western European powers via NATO to become a union of democratic militaries.

Russia, showing will to extend its power, means they pose a larger threat to western world, not only now but going forward. Ukraine today. Poland tomorrow. Finland next week. At what point do we stop it? That’s why we must care, even if we don’t want to.

We are interested because we are a member of NATO. While Ukraine is not a NATO member they are close in proximity to NATO members including the Baltic region. We may not be that far away from protecting a NATO member.
No matter the issue, I favor protecting Europe than just about anybody on the globe.

I am (and have been for a while) def part of the military contractor / MIC element you mentioned - there def are good reasons to look at the USG-DoD union as a conflict of interest situation JUST like i complain about with pharmaceutical/CDC relationship

I will step up and say that I am embarrassed I voted for Biden, but it was anti Trump and I vote in Kentucky so it doesn't matter. What I disagreed with on Trump's policy was calling the pandemic a hoax and then putting trillions of dollars into the stock market as a response to it. Also disagreed on lowering corporate tax by 15% after they saw the longest bull market in the history of bull markets after we have now bailed them out 3 separate times. Putin is pro ussr in the sense of territory but he isn't a commie. It's the reason he has resisted China for so long. Biden pushed him into a deal with China that he has rejected several times before. India is also leaving the US friend group and is siding with Russia and strangely will end up partnering with China who they have had border conflicts with the last 10 years.

Scour the internet. I knew a guy that was married to a Ukrainian woman that gave me a heads up on Kolomoisky and she told me some crazy tales. I looked up her stories on non google searches, and dude was definitely a crime boss. He stole money from one of Putins friends, over $100million, and he's still alive. He got his money by strong arming his way into businesses and threatening to kill the owner if they came back. The current president, Zelensky, the tv station he worked at.... Kolomoisky took it over by sending in guys with machetes and giving the owners a take it or leave it deal.

Euro news will usually have a lot of truth but you have to read past the headline and first paragraph.



This is what Kolomoisky did when the last president put an arrest warrant out for him. He barricaded himself inside with an army protecting him. When international pressure got too great, he fled to Israel. Once the US coup took place and Zelensky was elected, he was allowed back into the country and was allowed to get most of his property, that he stole, back. He is currently trying to get ownership of Privat Banc back. After the $1billion went missing the last president seized the bank.

He was governor of dnipropetrovsk and Putin is taking over the Donestk state.
