Russia - Ukraine WAR Warning: Political Discussions

I wouldn't be surprised to see the " convoy" thats been stacked up outside Kyiv to make a breakout for Lviv.
Once that Army group coming in from the North east meets up with them, they can hold Kyiv in check.

If that happens there's going to be some serious puckering going on in NATO.
Definitely going to get real at that point.

A US airstrike in Kabul against a supposed Islamic State bomber actually killed an innocent man who worked for a US aid group and his family, according to newly published testimony and footage — raising the specter that the Pentagon lied to the public about the strike.

Remember when we blew up a hospital?

https://www.msf.org/kunduz-hospital-attack-depth

Starting at 2:08am on Saturday 3 October, a United States AC-130 gunship fired 211 shells on the main hospital building where patients were sleeping in their beds or being operated on in the operating theatre.

At least 42 people were killed, including 24 patients, 14 staff and 4 caretakers. Thirty-seven people were injured.

Our patients burned in their beds, our medical staff were decapitated or lost limbs. Others were shot from the air while they fled the burning building.

The attack from the air lasted for around one hour. The main hospital building came under precise and repeated airstrikes, while the surrounding buildings were left mostly untouched.

Throughout the airstrikes our teams desperately called military authorities to stop the attack.

Got it in the boat (kayak) did not have scales with me or phone (not on the water) and put it on a metal stringer. somewhere along the fishing afterwards it fought so hard to get off it bent the metal clip in the sleeve and got off. If I was to guess on length it would have been 23-25" and about 6 to 7 pounds.

Nice. I want to get one of those trolling motor/pontoon setups for the marshes down here.

This is not the case on this thread, but, on Twitter, there are more than a few people who are arguing that even a nuclear war is worth "doing the right thing" for the benefit of Ukraine. Astonishingly, it appears that most of the tweets in favor of intervention that would effectively mean World War 3 (e.g, a no fly zone over Ukraine) appear to be from the Left more than from neocons. Regardless of what side it comes from, are these people out of their effing minds? They're OK with a nuclear war? Do they even understand what that means?
Self righteousness is their calling card. What could top calling for a nuclear exchange in the name of a vague sense of what’s right? The ultimate virtue signaling.

I for one can’t fathom our federal government would lie to us.
They didn't, not really. At first they thought they had hit the expected target, then word of what really happened came out and the military checked into it. Apparently the soldiers involved were looking for that type car and the the building was a known ISIS spot so instead of following procedure they made the mistake of assuming too much and this tragedy happened. It's all available to read.

The only reason the government came out with the truth is because people found out about it. The government isn’t going to tell on itself for no reason.

Seems like Putin has to be removed for insanity since he sat in front of the camera today and said Ukraine had Nukes.

Jesse Waters: "He is going to have to put 5 times the troops in Ukraine after this is over. There is no way he has time to do that as this is a race against economics. The sanctions won't allow him to. This could go on months, but not years and after he's done there's no where to go".

Iraq didn't attack us on 911. Neither did Afghanistan.
In fact, I think the pilots they IDed were Saudi, but we didn't attack them either....
Syria didn't attack us.
NVietnam didn't.
Cuba didn't attack us.

Do you think we'd let Canada get nukes or bioweapons from Russia or China and/or plant them along our border? Do you think we wouldn't invade Canada to keep Russia or China from putting nukes there? Apples to apples...
Actually, by proxy, Afghanistan most certainly did attack us. I have no idea why you brought up Syria. Yes the N Vietnamese did attack us. Cuba didn't attack us but they did steal from us much like Venezuela has.

Perhaps. I'm not going to say the military doesn't try to hide its dirty laundry.

Sorry, can't find anything about a color revolution directed by our CIA. Most Ukrainians hated the man. Why would we need to direct anything? But lets say we did, that's within a sovereign nation. Nothing was done to Putin, he simply didn't like his lack of control. In Russia he's now claiming the invasion was for self defense.

Seems to me someone needed to attack him first to claim a right to self defense.
The revolution was called the Orange Revolution. I’ve posted an article from the Guardian about it. Ukraine was pretty split in terms of what Ukrainians supported. Some were more favorable towards Russia in the east and those in the west were favorable to the non-Russian party.

Barely. Obama was President when this occurred so it was largely suppressed by the media. Had this tragedy occurred under Trump, you could bet your next paycheck he would have been impeached for it.

Civilian casualties in the War on Terror increased substantially under President Trump.

https://watson.brown.edu/costsofwar/files/cow/imce/papers/2020/Rising Civilian Death Toll in Afghanistan_Costs of War_Dec 7 2020.pdf

In 2017 the Pentagon relaxed its rules of engagement for airstrikes and escalated the air war in Afghanistan. The aim was to gain leverage at the bargaining table. From 2017 through 2019, civilian deaths due to U.S. and allied forces’ airstrikes in Afghanistan dramatically increased. In 2019 airstrikes killed 700 civilians – more civilians than in any other year since the beginning of the war in 2001 and 2002.

Presidents Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden chose to be the figureheads for this long, atrocious debacle and so they all bear the responsibility of a spectacular number of civilians deaths. Underplaying the involvement of any of them is an insult to the thousands of innocents that we've murdered over the years.

He’s right, if things stay as they are right now in the world. China and Russia started decoupling from the Dollar last year. I think Russia is in the neighborhood of 50% and China in the ballpark of that.

We have to assume Russia and China knew there’d be heavy sanctions, so what would a plan around that look like?

Currently researching Viktor Yuschenko. Fun fact that will draw partisan comments, but interesting nonetheless. I vaguely remember him being talked about in the Trump years.

Despite US opposition, Viktor Yuschenko, in 2004, hired none other than Paul Manafort to rehabilitate his political career. Eventually this led to Manafort being subject to an FBI Investigation. It's alleged that between 2010 and 2014, Manafort took over 60 million dollars from Ukrainian sponsors.
That’s awful. Now do Joe and Hunter.

I understand and respect what you’re saying…. I’m just pointing the inconsistencies on the part of MSM media and the political establishment.

Obama = good
Trump = bad (very bad)

This points out that Ukraine is every bit as corrupt as Russia. Politicians of both of our major political parties have fed at the Ukrainian trough…. Basically a grotesque form of political money laundering.

When you invade a sovereign nation using weapons and troops, destroying property and taking lives...yeah, call it cancelling, or whatever you want, but it's absolutely warranted. Stop playing victim and trying to gaslight the West, Russia.

Seems like the sensible solution is to tell them that all sanctions will be immediately lifted if Putin is removed and the troops get TF out immediately.

You realize you are talking about Russian separatists trying to take control of Ukrainian land, right? What would you do, let them?
So if we elect a president and some other countries come in and instigates a riot leading to a coup and the appointing of a president that we didn't vote for and then you don't allow those people to speak out or campaign and run for office.... they might want to leave that country. Hell, California was talking about seceding if Trump had won re-election.

Im not defending putin im just trying to get some of you off the war wagon. Both those countries are corrupt and evil. Ukraine has a nazi battalion in their army. It was formed shortly after the coup.

I just can't figure out why nobody is talking about who we'd been sending weapons to or flying our planes for.

Americans need to impress upon US companies that they commit to backing out of China if China continues to show aggression to Taiwan. The sanctions against Russia obviously were not intended to deter Russia from attacking Ukraine, but are meant to deter Russia from moving past Ukraine and to hurt Russia during this war. They are also meant to deter China. That latter intent is more meaningful if free country corporations let it be known that they stop doing business with China if it’s overtures don’t end.
