Im guessing the court system isn't working too efficiently in Ukraine right now

I'd like a NFZ, but that's likely to put us at war imo. But an airlift of goods is another matter. Could be non-military planes.Biden acts like we are standing with Ukraine. We are doing ziltch for Ukraine rather we are trying to go to war with russia. Pelosi and her American flag Ukrainian flag pin. What a joke. If we stand with Ukraine then arm them to the teeth, impose a no fly zone do more. Instead it’s personal between Putin and biden. Ukraine is being used folks and has been for a long time.
Agree. While Moldova was part of USSR & lots of Slavs (Bulgars. not Russian), language and culture is Romanian. Their best bet imo is to merge with larger NATO member Romania.US should be getting ahead of Russia’s next move in Moldova
If the Russia people took to the streets as the Ukraines did, their military is not going fire on them & Putin goes. So by most all staying home, they are supporting Putin. I.e., freedom isn't worth it to them as it is to the Ukraines. Net, zero sympathy to Russians including this guy.A Russian travel guy I keep up with said that he knows no person who supports this AT ALL. He admits there are supporters but they are few. He also asked for people to consider the situation of the average Russian: they live in a dictatorship that silences its opposition.
I’m having a hard time seeing the news from today. I can’t believe they’re bombing and shelling civilians like this.
I think you mean Singapore.Public canings in Hong Kong kept graffiti low. Take a dozen canes and then see if you want to do that again.
I mean this is a message board where the topic is geopolitics. Unless you work in the pentagon, for an intelligence agency, or for the state dept no one has any idea what they are talking about. This stuff is so multi-layered that the average American is completely clueless. But having dialog to discuss, as long as it’s not based on wacky conspiracies, is healthy discourse. These people? They know everything trust them. To hear them talk each one of them knows more about immunogy, foreign policy, economics, etc than most any expert who has spent their entire life working in these fields. How do they know such things? Because they have anonymous friends on the internet who tell them everything they need to know.
They couldn't build a wooden box by watching a YouTube video, but if they watch 3 or 4 of them they can tell you more about Covid than your family Dr.
They can't manage their family's finances but they definitely have 100% of the answers on how the world's economy should work.
They still fight over stupid $hit with their brothers and sisters at Thanksgiving, but they know how to solve all of the international conflicts between nations across the globe.
You should be glad they are around, but you probably already know that since they will tell you over and over again how smart they are and how dumb everyone else is.
Maybe some Russian will off Putin when they realize they can't buy anything. If the Russia people took to the streets as the Ukraines did, their military is not going fire on them & Putin goes. So by most all staying home, they are supporting Putin. I.e., freedom isn't worth it to them as it is to the Ukraines. Net, zero sympathy to Russians including this guy.
I’m not sure that’s fair to levy on the average Russian citizen. Most people in Toni country didn’t protest the government mandating losing their job for not taking a vaccine. I think it’s a big ask to tell Russians they need to take to the streets against an oppressive government that will arrest them or even worse for speaking against the government. If the Russia people took to the streets as the Ukraines did, their military is not going fire on them & Putin goes. Yeah, I think most people will choose the safe solution to keep quiet until the point in which they can’t. The longer this goes on, my guess is that more Russians will be outspoken against Putin. It is already starting with the oligarchs.I’m not sure that’s fair to levy on the average Russian citizen. I think a Russian revolution may not be out of the question as their economies continue to tank, but just a week into the conflict I don’t think it’s fair to say everyone not taking to the streets supports the war.
Is this is the price for cancelling Ukraine? Hope he goes thru with it before Putin has him executed.
Yeah, implementing a NFZ means you have to be prepared to shoot down Russian aircraft. That would put us in war with Russia and cause loss of US life and equipment. The Russian Surface-to-Air missiles are top notch. They also have advanced hypersonic missile capabilities.I'd like a NFZ, but that's likely to put us at war imo. But an airlift of goods is another matter. Could be non-military planes.
Putins foray continues it’s inevitable and relentless damage to his economy, as the two largest container shipping companies (Maersk and MSC Mediterranean) suspend all container bookings in and out of Russia. CMA CGM also suspended all shipping in and out of Russia.
Pentagon estimates 2000 RUS KIA. UKR Defense Ministry estimates 6000 RUS KIA.
Fog of war.

Dims want the Mexico border wide open.If they could just find it in their hearts to suspend human trafficking with this kind of solidarity it would really mean so much... Where is all of that?
Spot on. I think along with not paying attention, people don’t ask questions about their assumptions. I’ve seen a lot of people saying Putin is doing this to get a seat at the world’s table. That doesn’t stand up to critical thinking. As long as everyone fundamentally agrees with the hegelian dialectic...
Fixed it for you.
How many times does a theory of a conspiracy or a crime have to be proven correct before people stop casting aspersions on those who have alternate views or questions about an event? I guess people would have to ACTUALLY grow up being taught to read the errors and corrections portions of publications and websites. Hard to put too much blame on people when they're taught not to look back at the past for answers as to why they shouldn't allow what's about to happen in the future.
What did past genocides and seemingly useless wars actually tell us so that we would avoid the next one? Nothing... They put up shrines, monuments, and whitewashed tombs. People mourned and cried out, "Why did they have to die?!" Then they paved the way for the next by turning their backs on that history instead of listening to the follow up documentation and discovery.
When they began, it was always conspiracy theory that we started the wars in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan without the official cause that was given. Then we found out it wasn't the GulfofT incident, WMDs, rooting out terrorism respectively. How many lives were thrown away or otherwise destroyed in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan because of corporate greed, past mistakes, and opium? How many dedicated, caring, and patriotic men and women thought they were fighting for our country only to be spat upon, blown apart, or left to die on the streets or at home because they were not given the care promised when they signed up?
Iraq was a threat to no one. No WMDs. Their "army" that our politicians and Intel agencies built and that was decimated rather quickly was only a threat to oil profits. What did we accomplish in Afghanistan while guarding poppy fields and killing new leaders as they popped up? How many civilians can you drone strike before these things go against you and breed more contempt?
There is so much that people just don't understand about why things happen and it's because they don't continue to pay attention.
I get that to have a strong military and maintain it, you have to have conflict, exercises, and shows of force. You can't appear strong without flexing now and then, especially when your politicians are weak and corrupt. I understand the strategy of controlling the narrative to keep people from turning on the gov itself, but would prefer truth and a path to justice in order to root out corruption here.

So glad Joe is buying our needed fuel from Ukraine
So I’m going to mostly agree with everything here. Iraq was always about oil and WMDs were an excuse by the Bush Administration to support going to war. I think Bush’s admin calculus was that the risk of loss of life was worth the preservation of access to foreign oil and that they would find WMDs once they got there which would validate them going In the first place. When I say that geopolitics is multi-layered, this is what I’m referring to. The average American citizen isn’t made aware of all the underlying reasons for the decisions being made and how those decisions not only affect US interests but how the ripple affect manifests on a global scale. For now, I think it’s pretty clear that none of this conflict really has to do with the US other than the US and Russia maybe acting in a manner that postures them for where they want to stand in opposition to the other. We are adversaries. As long as everyone fundamentally agrees with the hegelian dialectic...

I’m not sure we caused it, but we had a hand in it in my opinion. I don’t think this happens if America and European nations don’t support the overthrow in Ukraine.
I disagree with your idea that Russia’s number 1 goal is destroying America. Maybe it is, but I don’t see it that way. Are they noble actors? No, of course not, but I don’t think they want to take us down.

When I refer to wacky conspiracies, I am referring to when people think that individual greed of Obama, Biden, trump, the Clinton’s, etc. have somehow led to a Russia invading Ukraine and that all of the countries in the world, including Switzerland, had unified around Ukraine for malicious reasons. I choose to believe the obvious, which is Russia, a global superpower, and a regional bully, hellbent on bringing back the Soviet Union, chose to invade a neighboring, a former Soviet country trying to position itself within the EU and NATO. And that the west had aligned itself in support of that country in opposition of an adversary and perceived dangerous and malicious dictator. The US has chosen to stay out of this fight, and for good reason.
This is where I get confused on the logic chain. This isn’t about Ukraine being a good guy, it’s about the people of Ukraine being killed and their freedoms lost over a war that their country didn’t start. Russia invaded them, this wasn’t a war they asked for. I don’t think Americans care whether or not Ukraine as a country ends up in NATO or the EU or if they become part of the Soviet republic. As an American it becomes pretty cozy not having to worry about being attacked by another country. I can’t imagine what those people in Kharkiv or Kyiv are going through. Putin has told us why he is attacking Ukraine, we don’t need to explore other reasons that don’t exist.Spot on. I think along with not paying attention, people don’t ask questions about their assumptions. I’ve seen a lot of people saying Putin is doing this to get a seat at the world’s table. Everyone so quickly rushed to the defense of Ukraine and posted the Ukrainian flag all over the place without spending any time to try and understand what’s going on, how it started, why it started, etc. Most Americans’ critical thinking on this issue stops at “Putin is a bad guy, so that’s why this is happening.” That’s a problem. People want this to be a good guy vs bad guy story. Those are simple to follow. It’s more complex yaws than that. Most likely it’s bad guy (Putin) vs. bad guy that the US likes more than the other (Ukraine).
Well this is scary AF.Probably not reliable, but:
"ANONYMOUS has claimed that it has shut down Russia's space agency, Roscosmos.
The hacking team has said that Russian officials have "no more control over their spy satellites.""

It would be devastating of epic proportions for Russia. The US Space Force has an unclass marketing video that shows the importance of our space mission. Basically if you take down our satellites we can no longer operate. Everything shuts down. Knowing the little I know about the investment and emphasis we place on encryption, unless Russia dropped the ball, it would be hard to foresee some guys in their basements hacking the Russian satellites.Well this is scary AF.
Start messing with that shit and they might accidentally believe we’ve made a first launch.
I agree with you there. I feel terrible for the people of Ukraine. The citizens that have nothing to do with any of these are getting their homeland shelled. That’s awful. I despise war. That’s why I don’t want any part of it with American involvement. I don’t see what that has to do with Americans’ not being able to think critically and ask questions. Asking questions doesn’t mean I support innocent Ukrainians being forcibly removed from their home and worse killed. I don’t want that. This is where I get confused on the logic chain. This isn’t about Ukraine being a good guy, it’s about the people of Ukraine being killed and their freedoms lost over a war that their country didn’t start. Wow.
