Russia - Ukraine WAR Warning: Political Discussions

For perspective:

The Long History of Glenn Greenwald’s Kissing Up to the Kremlin

In his world, it seems America can do nothing right and Vladimir Putin can do nothing wrong.

In the months since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, maverick journalist Glenn Greenwald has emerged as one of the loudest anti-Ukraine voices in the American media, with all the usual themes: transparent gloating over Russia’s apparent war gains in Eastern Ukraine; alarmism over United States support for Ukraine leading to World War III; even the flogging of “American biolabs in Ukraine” conspiracies in his Substack newsletter and in videos. While Greenwald has made overwrought claims about the “neo-Nazi menace” of the Azov Regiment, his only response to reports of Russian atrocities in Bucha has been to warn about the dangers of falling for “war propaganda” and “social media’s manipulations.”

This stance from Greenwald, a former lawyer who has been widely lauded for his investigative journalism and civil liberties advocacy, in particular, for his role in helping former National Security Agency subcontractor Edward Snowden expose illicit NSA surveillance and his Pulitzer Prize-winning coverage of that story—has been met with bafflement and disappointment from many of his erstwhile admirers, who lament that “Glenn lost his way.”

But Greenwald has been baffling and disappointing legions of his progressive admirers for years with his cozy relationship with the MAGA right. And a look at his career shows that his pro-Kremlin affinity goes way back—as part of a more general tendency to sympathize with foes of the U.S.-led “neoliberal” (or “neoconservative”) international order.

Ok, attack the messenger.

Still... 💯

Adding perspective is viewed as an attack only by those who are paranoid.
You're attacking the messenger so you can just dismiss his argument without having to contend with the merits of it.

The everyone against my pro-war stance is working for the enemy line is its own propaganda.

No one is "paranoid." :eek::rolleyes:

Kreminna about to fall, which then puts a squeeze on Rubizhne and Severodonetsk. Russians will have to then either abandon the Bakhmut offensive or ship troops in from the south, and they are lacking manpower particularly @ the Zaporizhia Oblast and the 50 km “fortification” they’re building there. 😆

HIMARs slowly but surely getting closer to Crimea.

Starobilsk is the only decent-sized town furthest east past Kreminna aside from Luhansk before the border. AFU may decide to take advantage of the frozen grown and proceed, Orc morale is terrible.

Wildcats1st says the Orcs will likely sacrifice 20 million of their own to defend it, his ex FS buddies told him that so let’s tell the AFU to abandon that effort now

Use some logic. If Russia is willing to sacrifice 100,000 to this point wtf would they stop? Did your cab driver buddy from Israel tell you about Russian morale or did you read it in the SUN??? Sounds an awful like those British tabloid trash.

For the love of God, stop taking territory, Vlad will nuke us allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.

Looks like bigbluefanga had a good meeting with Larry Fink. Announced a US taxpayer funded JV with Blackrock to rebuild Ukraine. Hopefully the new source of US taxpayer funded profits will allow Blackrock and Zelenskyy to continue building their portfolios of homes. If you’re a young person in the US looking to buy a starter home, sorry, the Ukrainians are the top priority.

The only perspective you are getting from this person is the pro-war narrative you want to hear.

Which is for you people your only concern.

The paid pro-Putinists such as Greenwald shouldn’t dictate the perspective for everyone. The great majority of Americans support Ukraine’s attempt to break away from Russia’s tyranny so they need to see why Putin’s talking heads are so belligerent towards President Zelensky and Ukraine.

Yes, Greenwald is very much pro Russia. He proves it repeatedly.

Its a good point. Why do some of you keep listening to people who are consistently proven wrong because they are crafting a narrative instead of reporting facts?

They aren't proven wrong. We all know Russia is constantly building missiles but you notice the time gaps between barrages, correct? I wonder what causes that.

Shocked the same people lapping up the establishment MIC narrative without exercising a single ounce of critical thought oppose the journalist who helped expose the NSA’s mass surveillance of US citizens.

Let me guess, anyone who opposes the PATRIOT ACT is also a Putin stooge?
Ah, Snowden. Where does he live again?

In exile, hoping to be out of reach of the corrupt government he exposed for running wide spread surveillance of its citizenry in violation of the constitution and principles our country was founded upon.
So two wrongs make a right with you? I really don't need low level employees making decisions on what is right and what is wrong, what should be made public and what shouldn't. I don't trust Snowden and I certainly don't trust Mr. Pro-Russia Greenwald. There are lots of countries that don't extradite to the US but Snowden picks Russia. Who'd a thunk it.

One wonders if Mr. Snowden has moral issues with the behavior of his new country. The POS should rot in prison or be shot. I prefer the latter.

Huh? I think you took about 10 steps there. Maybe you can explain.
It's pretty self explanatory. If you knew that the WEF, Soros and the Biden family on were all economically tied to a group or country... would you think they had the USA's interest at heart or their own?

What are the time gaps then? IT seems pretty consistent to me. one small one a week and one big one per week. They have gotten bigger in Dec.

Whistleblowing one of the most egregious violations of civil rights in the history of our country was not a wrong. If anyone is aware of other Constitution violating our government is currently running, I want them made public whether it’s a low level government employee exposing the corruption, or a private citizen like Elon Musk.

Curious, if you were on the run from the US government for exposing their corruption and disregard of the law, in fear of your life, which non extradition country would you have picked for safety?

I wouldn't have done such a thing. His actions caused lots of other problems and put valuable assets around the world at risk. He is a traitor and should be treated as such. As for where to go, considering what he did I guess are enemy is a good choice and shows his character quite clearly.

Why even try anymore with these morons? They are hamsters on a wheel. They get their info from the same source and have zero ability to think there are other possibilities. It’s too uncomfortable for them. It’s also quite clear they are a generation traumatized by duck and cover drills. These sickos their mindset has destroyed many lives and won’t stop until there is all out nuclear war because their lives are so miserable. They have zero regard for generations after them. They are uneducated and you will get further by convincing the wall in your bedroom than arguing with these loons.

The data collection was ruled illegal, not unconstitutional. You really want some putz at a computer deciding what is and is not acceptable as well as constitutional? That is utterly foolish. I guess you're a big fan of Bradley Manning.
