The Russian people suffered like no others in WWII. I doubt any Russian alive today that didn’t lose someone in that war. America may have lost 300,000 troups however Russia lost 27,000,000. They know war and not afraid of it. Sanctions to them are a waste of paper.

Yes - and that’s not counting the 60-100 million of their own that were just exterminated in the concentration camps / gulags

I have tremendous respect for the Russian ppl in general — theyve produced some amazing literature too (Doestoyevsky, Checkov, Turgenev etc)

Where are you getting those numbers?

Slightly off-topic:

Xi waits until after the October Party (Politburo) Congress before going into Taiwan. Doesn't want a botched invasion to threaten his chances of consolidating power. Going in now is entirely too predictable. After October he is free to do what he wants.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that Europe had done everything it could to pursue diplomacy with Russian President Vladimir Putin, going so far as to request a ceasefire less than a day after Russia launched its invastion.

“We have done everything we possibly could to make diplomatic path successful," Macron said.

“Zelenskyy asked me to ask Putin for ceasefire, I passed on message from France to Russian president but it did not lead to any impact, because president of Russia choose the war.”

She is pure smoke. Who is that?

Imma take a wild guess and say Anna Lynn McChord.

No shit Sherlock. What does she do is what I meant. Never seen her before I don’t think.

So The Gulag Archipelago is the amazing work by Nobel Peace Prize winner - A Solzhenitsyn

He documents the vast expanse of camps / gulags that started under Lenin and continued through Kruschev (sp?)

Solzhenitsyn provides conservative estimates for the human souls who directly perished within the system of camps - that # he generally cited was 60 Million

He also discussed how the #s would really be higher since for every adult / family member perishing in one of those places —- there would be another 2-3 lives lost for lack of support or starvation etc

So the #s stem from the great Soviet dissident author , Solzhenitsyn

It’s truly worth the read - the scope of inhumanity that the Marxists created was mind
boggling

Hope that helps a bit

Oh okay. So it’s not counting just WW2. I’m a huge WW2 nerd and had never seen civilian numbers that high. Thank you sir.

So nothing I watch. Haha no wonder I have no clue who she is.

To be accurate, it was 27,000,000 lost of the entire Soviet Union, of which 5,000,000 of the dead were from the Ukraine. The Soviet Baltic states also contributed a significant amount to that number. But I completely understand your point.

That is a part of history that I have interest in and read a lot about. By the time D-Day happened and the allies landed in France the German war effort was pretty much a lost cause by that point. The only problem was that Hitler didn't accept that nor his fanatical followers. If the Nazi regime didn't insist on fighting to the death and carrying on the war until every last German man, woman, and child were dead, millions of lives would have been saved. Or in other words, if the German command were sensible and level headed and could see that losing the war was inevitable in 1944 and thus initiated peace talks with hat in hand to end it then .

This isn’t accurate. Ukrainians freely elected their own president and there is no evidence the revolution was spurred by the US.
except for emails that came out during the Trump impeachment. Fiona Hill didn't look nervous on the stand because she had never done public speaking. Financial records to a Soros backed NGO that was actually the first group on the ground to start protest and dnc operatives actually on the ground doing marketing work for the coup. Just because you close your eyes doesn't mean the lights aren't on man.

NATO has been a success, at least.
Wasn't nato formed to prevent soviet aggression? The soviet union dissolved and nato and the state dept managed to get russia to invade "europe". Great freaking success.

Evidence? Pelosi’s son and Romneys campaign member was on the same board that Hunter Biden was on, Burisma.

The Clinton foundations biggest donor was Ukraine.

I guarantee if a deep dive was taken you could find deals just like these with other members of the US Govt , Western Europe. And NATO.

Ukraine owns a major data mining site in Western KY, it’s in Calvert City. Russia will have access to this now.
Use a non google search engine and look into a guy named Igor Kolomoisky. He owned the bank that over $1billion in US aid went missing. His nickname in Ukraine is "evil santa claus". In a country like Ukraine... to be called evi,l is kinda telling.

https://nypost.com/2022/02/24/who-is-ukraines-president-volodymyr-zelensky/
https://www.independentsentinel.com/hunter-biden-did-business-with-the-worst-oligarch-in-ukraine/

Heres 2 good starting articles.

Do searches on
"kolomoisky chainsaw" "kolomoisky machete" and "kolomoisky shark" and see what you get. You have to dig because a lot has been scrubbed by big tech because hes just that bad of a human for Hunter and the USA to be doing business with.

You do realize that communism ended in Russia in the 90's. There haven't been "comrades" there for decades. That is just a Russian hat. And why is it relevant to anything?
Its actually the hammer and sickle.... Its litter ali the commie version of a symbol. It ceased to be the Russian symbol in 1991.

I do not care about that bullshit. Spread your propaganda somewhere else. There’s an entire political thread that allows you to yell into the void. This was supposed to be a thread to update everyone on an actual situation. Not some made up bullshit ass political views.
Weird. Antifa actually got a 16' statue of Stalin put in Seattle. It would seem with all the anti Russia, and calling pubs "commies".... You'd care that a domestic terrorist org with communist ideology is attacking people in the USA.... or you're being a hypocrite that should just read cnn and send poor kids to war.

You’re probably right, but playing devil’s advocate, they do have trump card in Hypersonic Missiles. If Putin is pushing this to max, that’s a technology we don’t have and he could be looking to exploit that gap.
Yea. Putin gave a speech talking about the waste of money we put into missile defense with the new rocket tech. If they and china have what they say they have, it is scary as shit.

There may be some motivation in all of this on Putin's part to secure a deep/warm water port for the Russian Navy. Who can say?
But, all he has to do is cut production of the oil he sells to the US (approx. 5-12 million barrels per month), sit back and watch the price go up, lose no money and put a hurting on the American economy.
Russia doesn't really like China but we are pushing them together. All he has to do is build a pipeline to china and both will laff at the petro dollar.

I’m really shocked that the right wing nuts in this thread have been duped by the Putin propaganda being regurgitated by shitbags like Tucker Carlson.

America First!
Not surprising. Russian propaganda networks are airing Tucker Carlson's pro-Putin monologues overlaid with Russian subtitles. Fox (at least their opinion hosts) is literally a Russian propaganda network.

You mean the statue of Lenin that was created in 1988 and originally displayed in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, was then bought by an American who found it in a scrapyard, and is currently being displayed on private property in Seattle while the family of the now deceased buyer looks for someone else to but it from them? That statue? Doesn't exactly sound like "Antifa got a statue of Stalin put up in Seattle" to me.

given that people are saying that conservatives against war are pro russian.... Yea. we'll say its on private property and a commie group had nothing to do with buying it and putting it in an American city. Just some rando guy.

I did mix up my crazy russian commie though. It is lenin.

It was some random guy. Lew Carpenter to be exact. And yes, your picture shows the statue on private property. Unless you're going to tell me Seattle Times articles from the early '90s are part of some grand conspiracy to disguise the real origin of the statue, you're dead wrong.

Now let's not derail the thread further. Back to pretending to be experts on Ukrainian/Russia relations and European geopolitics.

they lost 27M because they had the worst generals in the war. their tactics largely consisted of mass charging millions of men to the frontline until the enemy ran out of ammo or was overwhelmed. All with little air support.
