Russia - Ukraine WAR Warning: Political Discussions

No one wants to go to war. Can we quit blaming each other for this? This is so effing childish and stupid. This war in Ukraine is Vladimir Putin's fault. It would be happening regardless of who was President of the US. Sanctions and troops to support NATO countries is all we are ever going to do about it regardless of party or administration. Quit being a foolish petulant child and grow the eff up. The far left and far right of our country have totally destroyed common sense. Everything you all do boils down to whether your side did it or not. That's all you know and all you can process. Use your brain.
Remember after 9/11 when the country united (although I'm certain anyone who looked vaguely Arab didn't feel too united, but that's a different topic)? No way that would happen today. If there was some war that did hit our soil we wouldn't unite. We'd just point fingers and argue about which party is at fault while we were torn down from within and without.

Now let's not derail the thread further. Back to pretending to be experts on Ukrainian/Russia relations and European geopolitics.

Yet one more accusation of the left towards conservatives that proves to be more true of themselves- warmongers...

They flock to the news of war like deranged Comicon attendees trying to get VIP passes. They need conflict like cows need grass. The motto of the right and moderates is "peace thru strength" while that of the left Is "peace through looting and destruction." The rags and digital-dictators of the left have been saved once again by conflict.

Their people will be glued to their media to see video of carnage and commentary. Able now to express more feelings of hurt, sympathy, rage and shock, they will virtue signal for the first 3 months of conflict before their adhd/new Netflix-release-binge takes over and they forget about it. At least they'll be distracted and herded this way and that until the next election, when the destinationless zombies go back to the polls to vote for whomever the BidenNN tells them will love them for who they are (even while robbing them blind).

Biden is a true communist-for-hire as he empowered Russia like no one before him (except Hilary who literally gave them nuclear material that wasn't legal to sell to them). REST ASSURED that if the left is calling anyone ANYTHING it is merely projection. Until they are proven wrong they will say you are ignorant. Until confronted with the fact that they are proven wrong and then they will "lol" deny it and disappear from the conversation.

Leave them to their obsessing, their moaning and complaining, about this war they put in motion during the Obama administration, as if the actual events there will be portrayed in anything except the light of leftist propaganda.

Trump changed that. He tore the country apart. Part of his legacy.

It doesn't add up. Taking Chernobyl on the 1st day? Nowhere near the troop levels to effectively manage a country of over 41 million people with a multitude of recent historical examples of how that will lead to a long bloody insurgency and ultimately defeat? Knowing your local Russian population has many close familial ties with Ukraine will not make things better at home?

Putin is up to something beyond a simple crushing of Ukraine's Government then installing a puppet then heading home. He wants Chernobyl as it casts a nuclear shadow over Europe and maybe large enough to bluff one country like Germany with veto power from maybe not okaying a NATO intervention into whatever it is that Putin is really after? Maybe China is lurking and will take Taiwan then Putin, with the US hopelessly stretched in two theaters against superpowers, be able to run roughshod over NATO with a distracted weakened US as Taiwan is game over for us as we are totally all in on committing to their defense?

I hated the way Trump behaved but a number of his policies have played out to be correct for the current climate. In many ways he was his own worst enemy. Had he put any effort into toning himself down he’d still be in office.

Something to ponder.

Makes a lot of sense.

Id like these questions answered, too. Newsweek covered this apparently. It would make a really good news story. You could get an entire weeks worth of juicy TV content out of it 24/7.

I think we have them because they have them. Or maybe not. We are probably the leader in this field, I would hope. We saw how quickly and effectively this lab born virus changed the developed world, and how the people accepted it.!

I am impressed by the names you pick.

So The Gulag Archipelago is the amazing work by Nobel Peace Prize winner - A Solzhenitsyn

He documents the vast expanse of camps / gulags that started under Lenin and continued through Kruschev (sp?)

Solzhenitsyn provides conservative estimates for the human souls who directly perished within the system of camps - that # he generally cited was 60 Million

He also discussed how the #s would really be higher since for every adult / family member perishing in one of those places —- there would be another 2-3 lives lost for lack of support or starvation etc

So the #s stem from the great Soviet dissident author , Solzhenitsyn

It’s truly worth the read - the scope of inhumanity that the Marxists created was mind
boggling

Hope that helps a bit

Now there's an author you'll not see promoted on college campuses.

Leftists/communists/socialists in America are useful in that they are clueless about accounting and accountability. The Marxists (Leninists) of the Bolshevik anarchy/revolution knew before they took over just how many people their eventual dictatorships could support and exactly how much labor was needed to keep it running. They just never told anyone about the culling that would take place as soon as it was possible.

The left in this country has reached the point where they are ready to cull conservatives however necessary, but they haven't admitted it much publicly. They still feign care and concern for "all" humanity when the reality is that they only care for those who think exactly as they do. Conservatives and moderates give to charity, fight for rights, and support the rights of others regardless of their political affiliation. Liberals do not. They don't do much of ANY of those things.

They will argue that it's not their job to feed the poor "because they already give enough to the gov for them to do that." They don't want to be bothered with it. They just want to be able to virtue signal by attending expensive events and dinners where their "charitable contributions" don't actually go to feeding, clothing, or housing anyone.

The worst thing is that there are people who vote along with them that DO help others, but don't realize the damage they do at the polls. There were so many like them in Germany, but they can't yet see it.

It’s the progressive left that caused Biden admin to kill Keystone and end American energy independence. Else this situation would have little effect on American economy.

At the same time, we could be easing Europe’s depending on Russia for Gas giving much greater leverage on Russia

But no we have idiots like Kerry and the whole climate change crowd who are either clueless or are part of the great reset.
I'm not against Keystone necessarily, but letting that project continue would not help us in any way right now. We wouldn't be flowing anything on that pipe until at least 2030.

I dont know if I'd got as far as his policies have played out correct. I would say he had a number of general ideas that were accurate (e.g. hard stance on China, getting Europe to pull more of their weight with NATO), but he had no clue how to work with other countries to accomplish those goals. Taking on China alone with the trade war instead of coordinating with our European allies, not working collaboratively with NATO to increase European funding, etc.

A few ideas were sound, the policies used to implement those ideas were not. One of his biggest problems is he didn't know how to work with people and always had to be the smartest guy in the room.

It helps because it changes perception, which improves the dollar, and it brings oil prices down. It's all perception

No, but it's not going on for the next 8 years either.
No one knows. Depends on insurgency and how far this radiates. French were conquered by Hitler, but the resistance later coalesced to fight back.

And yes yes, I know they had US help. But that's not the point.

Europe had no interest in working against China. They had no interest in pulling their own weight with NATO.

Taking on China alone was the only option. NATO/UN have sold out just like governments all over the world. Their people may not have, but their leadership and media HAVE.

You make a good point, and perception does have an affect, I agree, but more in the long term. Short term prices are much more impacted by actual supply and demand.

No country should have been buying Russian oil since 2014. Any country that did / is has played a critical part in what is happening into today

That makes sense on the surface, but it's hard to make that argument when absence of Russian gas means skyrocketing utility costs in Europe. That's the reality of that situation.

Yes, the complicated international oil futures market is in no way driving by supply and demand and OPEC price fixing and is instead determined by "perception" about a pipeline that was still a decade away.

There has to be sane policy and a balance between energy demands and environmental concerns.

I have seen nothing from either major party that does that.

The future should be nuclear and renewables. That secures economic, environmental and national security. Temporary solutions to permanent problems isn’t a plan.

He wasn’t capable of being any different. He was a wannabe dictator who is untrustworthy and a narcissist. He barely won against Clinton and Biden absolutely kicked his ass. His base is uneducated and sheep.

Just stop. You're digging yourself a deep hole.

Trump had this country in it's best position in our lifetime....economically, national security, global views, illegal immigration, etc......and there is no argument otherwise. It's best for you to kiss his ass and ask for seconds.

Biden now has us in the worst shape in our lifetime....you probably need to lube up, because we are going to get screwed for a while longer.

You are eaten up with Trump, even as the world is on the edge of WW3, and the US sits idly by getting over ridden by Germany on Russian sanctions.

The US is in a precarious situation here, do we let Russia walk all over us with China likely to follow, or do we risk the dollar being the world currency? Both end badly for the US, the only difference is length of time.

Scurry back to GYERO and take your daily ass kicking

We are, that is why we don't want Biden in charge. Keep up with the times.
Biden: Putin is a thug and is about to attack Ukraine: Fox News: what about those Canada Truckers. Trump: Putin is a genius and I want his peacekeeping troops on our border. You: an idiot traitor.

😂😂😂😂😂. I’m eaten up with trump? That’s rich. He lost and know it. His game is he got robbed but he knows. 90% of the posters here worship orange Jesus. Talk about eaten up. He needs to shut up and let the adults run the country.

Don’t kid yourself. It’s been going on for the past ten years as Russia worked to make Europe reliant on it as an energy source. Russia will continue to use its energy resources as a weapon against the West. To think this is not an ongoing global issue would be naive.

China is winning big today and it knows it. To it, Russia is just a convenient pawn. China will take Taiwan. The West will lose its semiconductor influence and China will have what it wanted. Russia is a temporary little brother to China. And what will the West do? Not much.

Romney was right. Easy to admit that. Romney has a moral compass and gets Trump hate for it. Trump was disgustingly wrong, he said he believe Putin over our own security service intel. Bromance between dick dictators there. Two days ago Trump said Putin should bring his peacekeeping forces to our border. Traitor.

That is the rationale that condones the naïveté of the West. There were options. Europe chose to ignore what they knew about Putin and Russia.

If posters want to stress the temporal distance to Keystone, we should do the same for “renewables.” Might as well add clean burning coal.

Small Nuclear, natural gas, and oil, supported by the current state of solar and wind should be the objective.
