Russia - Ukraine WAR Warning: Political Discussions

This has now turned into a kinetic / hot war

Scope of conflict could remain limited assuming NATO/Western powers stay the hell out of it

We know they have multiple strategic bombers in the air right now though -
Ukrainian military positions are being attacked from multiple directions simultaneously now

Now you just want to avoid escalation that pulls in other nations or results in non conventional weapons being used

I hope someone in Europe bombs Klaus Schwab and George Soros.

- People born in the last 30 years in Ukraine don't know Russia & want nothing to do with Russia. They are oriented to the West & want to be part of it regardless of the military situation. And they will be the ones fighting Russia.
- 2014 changed everything for Ukrainians with Russia taking over parts of the country. U's no longer see R as a brother at all. That link is permanently broken even if Russia occupies it.
- Ukraine isn't a perfect country, but it's a whole lot better than R.
- Language isn't determinate for being pro/anti R. It's the country people live in that matters. People who lived in occupied Donbas have been largely been depopulated from it either to Russia (pro-Russians) or to further west in Ukraine. Anyone want to bet those who moved west support R?

Just pray for the 44 million people trying to embrace democratic ideas and be part of the world
I’m not so sure 44 million people with 200,000 defense forces can be defeated and occupied by 200,000 invaders . . . .

The Russians have many advantages, obviously, but how many advantages would be needed for Fayette County to conquer Texas?

Ultimately the fate of Ukraine is in their own hands, and if enough resist, this will be a defeat for Putin.

I agree. If NATO can supply them some air defense, I don’t think Russia can take it in a ground war.

When war broke out the us embassy was abandoned. They then go to Paris and ask for war. Our state dept started this war, took off running when it started and now want young people to come die for their mistake.
I’m not how you make the jump from Ukrainian government & international operations moving to Lviv to claiming the US asked for war in Paris. 1) That never happened in Paris. 2) Americans aren’t fighting. What are you talking about?

Okay, I think we all get it. Good grief.
The best part about your candidate losing an election is anything bad that happens in the world you can blame on the guy in office. We’re looking at a literal war breaking out, and people want to argue Trump vs Biden.

And before any Trump voters attack me, I’m not a fan of Biden in the slightest. He sucks. I just think now isn’t the time to be arguing partisan politics. Especially considering we were at war every single day of Obama and Trump’s administrations. There aren’t many anti war politicians in America.

There won’t be a war I don’t think ukraine has the spirit to fight. Still a lot of Russian sympathizers in that country

May be taliban part two just running through their country with limited to no opposition

Russia has so many more groups of 200,000 both bags they can bring over if they need them.

Tough for those nearing retirement.. but im looking forward to a buying opportunity. Also wouldn't be heartbroken if a recession opened up the housing market a bit.
Fair. I just worry those in that position will panic and take their money out which is something I'd advise against.

Had a relative in 2009 sell everything close to the bottom and bought back in around 2014. That kind of error puts one back 10 years under normal market conditions :(

Ofc now everything is as uncertain as its been in decades. 4 different bubbles brewing plus inflation.

I can't tell if this is a troll job or not.

Germany is Russia's third biggest Trade partner. They are also their second biggest trade deficit partner, meaning they import a lot more from Germany than they export. If they lose Germany their economy would crater overnight. Especially since a lot of what they are importing is food. Nationalism sounds great, but it won't feed anyone.
They're spouting a DT talking point from 2017.

I'm nearing retirement. I cashed out a substantial amount of my stock and payed the taxes on it after Brandon stole the election. I fully expected the world to go to shit under this pos.

Very wise move. I moved to a much larger cash position than I ever have before. Some big buying opportunities are forth coming it looks like! Cash is king!

Congrats to Biden and the liberal media, you’ve now got the distraction and excuse you so desperately needed and wanted.
Glad this is your first thought as thousands of innocent people are going to be murdered on both sides and millions suffering. Maybe stop with the domestic politics for a day and show compassion to people who never asked for this.

Coming from someone who disagrees with this administration on basically everything.

I think people should care more about the loss of human lives and less about standing ground on their political beliefs. None of that shit matters when things start to pop off. **** your political party regardless of what it is. We have bigger issues at hand.

Russia put troops into Odessa and looks to have hit Kyiv with cruise missiles or other airpower. Any thought that this was preening to take territory and then sue for peace appears out the window.

I hope we've got Green Berets organizing Ukrainian resistance to draw the Ruskies into a bloody guerrilla war a la Afghanistan as I type this.

Would be nice to have Bagram ready to bomb the shit out of China from the backdoor if they decide to get frisky in Formosa.

I have a lot of compassion for those suffering. I’m also very aware our current administration played a large role in how this is playing out. The Dems provoked and cheered for this, and now it’s here.

So again, congrats Dems, you got the war you so desperately wanted, and now many will die. You think this will increase your chances of winning an election, so it’s all worth it I guess right…?
