The man, whose identity has not been released, was stopped by a security officer as he entered the cathedral, New York police said at an evening press conference. The man was told he could not enter with the gasoline. As he turned around some gasoline spilled onto the floor of the cathedral.

Quite ironic that Trump supporters think AOC is dumb, while Trump thinks windmills cause cancer and wants to send flying water tanks into a major city to extinguish a fire at a historic cathedral. Covfefe or hamberders anyone?

The opposite. I realize I’m a lone voice in a vast sea humanity. Only together can the working class apply pressure to the elites. From the Magna Carta to the Coal Wars, all the rights people have fought and died for throughout history that you take for granted were wrested from the teeth of the elites by collective action. They do not part with power easily. Why enable them?
You do not understand what it is you have just posted about. You and the left advocate for entitlements you did not work for, You and your type have not suffered in the manner in which you post about. These people that have worked and fought and died for that better life would scoff at you and the liberal left for what you have become.

I'm not a deadbeat like you. Hard work has made me reasonably successful. I'd rather die than pay to support you lazy ass, entitled brats who spend all your time whining about the system instead of taking advantage of the ample opportunities this country provides.
Truth.

Money. If you want to sacrifice like you supposedly have to make more money, go for it. But saying you only matyr yourself in the ways you do so you can have healthcare just highlights how messed up our system is tying health to employment. Killing yourself at work so you can earn the chance to live if you’re unlucky enough to get a life threatening condition...
That's the way life is...we work to have the things we want or need. We "kill" ourselves at mind numbing, body crushing work every day to buy food, a house, shoes for the kids. That's what a real man does. Oh...and a real man will help those who are out there doing the same but run into extraordinarily difficult situations...like getting a terrible disease. As for those who:
1. Don't take advantage of opportunities such as a FREE education that is available to all;
2. Say " I'm too good to work for minimum wage";
3. Sit at home on mom's couch waiting for a gov check;
they are on their own.

All that said, it's not the role of government to provide health care, food, clothing, housing. There's another social institution that was designed for that purpose.

Independence is useless if it's just the freedom to die. The current state of our government is a symptom, not the root problem. Our government panders to big money and flouts the will of the people. Government is just an expression of collective will, one of the few tools we can bring to bear on the moneyed interests. Remember Teddy and the trust busting? We need government for the people, not the elites.

See, you agree that government is ineffective. Your idea of caring for the poor, unfortunate and downtrodden is good and more appropriately, right. However, you're misguided to think taxation or doing the Robin Hood "steal from the rich" approach is the way to do it .

It is right that we all help the poor. That's part of Christ's teachings. But it's an individual mandate. Caring for others is between a man and God. It's not something the faceless government has even the ability to do effectively.

In an earlier thread, some were crying about churches not being taxed and/or wasting money. IMO, if churches cannot demonstrate they are using money in a manner that is not aligned with Biblical teaching, they should lose their exempt status. Churches should demonstrate that x % of their income is used to care for the poor, the homeless, the sick. Further, personally, I have no problem if the fed no longer gave a tax break for giving. Like I said, gov should have no role in the issue.

You may not like the church idea...that's your choice, but the church is THE institution in mankind that is designed to meet the needs of the less fortunate....not a faceless government. Admit it, governmental programs to care for the poor have created more problems than they have solved.

Freedom to die? You have good intentions, but lack the foresight to realize what you want will only give more power to the people you lament over all of our lives.

It won’t stop with healthcare, the costs will be at least double what they say. So the next step will be control what people do, and it’ll be sold as necessary to save lives and money.

I really want to know who exactly it is you're speaking for. What do you logically think is going to happen in this country if you systematically take down big corporations and the countries top earners and job creators? Where will we work when all these jobs are shipped overseas or across the borders? I really want to know what your utopian society looks like, how it's funded, who's doing what on a daily basis to make sure we have sustenance and daily needs, what anyone's incentive to create, innovate and work is. Are you FOR bread lines?

So Dionysoreass444 and other resident socialists, check out this article and explain to me what happens when, under the systems you are proposing, these Venture Capitalists go away and the private company doing the research is taxed into oblivion. Where will these advancements in technology and healthcare come from? Who will be the ones making these advancements? What will be their incentive?

Louisville health care company gets $100 million investment, new CEO and new name

A Louisville health care company is getting a huge infusion of cash — $100 million from a syndicate of venture capital firms — to help continue the development of a cell therapy for organ transplant recipients who suffer from chronic immunosuppression.

The company also is getting a new name and a new CEO, and it just wrapped up a promising phase two trial of its therapy.

The company is Talaris Therapeutics Inc., formerly known as Regenerex LLC. It was founded by University of Louisville surgeon and researcher Dr. Suzanne Ildstad, who's been investigating this therapy for transplant patients since 1988.

[roll]That's all you have? Yes, winning. Did you read the article? Do you understand Trump's "Art of the Deal"?

On a side note and more important, "New York Times"[eyeroll]
I could go all day on how he isn't winning. Trump thought going into the first summit that he could contain Jong-un. He was thinking he was going to get the Nobel prize. Talked about how they were best friends and all that. Now, shockingly, NK is up to their old tricks and has no intention on stopping things. Art of the deal: LMAO. Getting played is more appropriate

20,000 jobs in February. Here comes the slowdown.

US weekly jobless claims lowest since 1969; unemployment rolls shrink.

  • The number of Americans filing applications for unemployment benefits fell to more than a 49-1/2-year low last week.
  • The data pointed to sustained strength in the economy.
  • Initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped to 192,000 for the week ended April 13, the lowest level since September 1969, the Labor Department said.

Lol. Yeah, being the world’s bitch and dropping pallets of cash to the world’s worst is way better negotiating tactics.

Do you Libs get some sort of sick satisfaction out of this? At least Trump is putting forth an effort and has dramatically slowed NK's progress towards Nuclear arms. Where do you think they'd be if Hillary was President?

Ann Coulter says she could forget all the socialist stuff and possibly vote for Bernie if he went back to his original plan on immigration. Has she lost her damn mind?
I'm a big wrestling fan. A lot of times you see the old timers out there with the same haircut from the 70s or 80s, barely scraping by, but utterly devoted and committed to maintaining the facade of their character.

That's Ann Coulter at this point.

Government will do all that stuff...

Even though they can barely run the post office, education system, and take care of a couple of million veterans, more money from rich people and total dependence by everyone will somehow miraculously turn the bureaucratic swamp full of blowhards and lawyers into an advanced healthcare system that can take care of 350 million people.

Libs just like to think outside the box. Conventional wisdom says let the innovators, health care professionals, scientists, engineers, researchers, billionaires improve the health care system.

However, liberals want to mix it up. They want to let the people who can't get together to pave roads and improve basic infrastructure run health care. You know, lawyers and bureaucrats in charge of health care.

The people letting measles and other diseases come into the country and spread, in charge of your wellness.

The people who don't want to distinguish between a male and female, basic biology, in charge of fixing your body.

The people letting beautiful San Franciso literally be shit up and dirtied up with needles, in charge of your well being.

The people who will let a doctor terminate a baby, in charge of deciding what happens to you should you catch some bad luck and need to be fixed up.

She thinks we're going socialist anyway if we don't figure out immigration. If you believe in the demographic winter its a consistent thing to throw out.

Guaranteed she doesn't actually believe Bernie would revert, or have the balls to make immigration his #1 issue
