There's several problems with Facebook that need to be regulated, but its clear democrats don't care about that at all and that "whistleblower" was the most transparent nonsense I've ever seen...all they actually care about is controlling what's said about them. That and legacy media hates them bc they don't want anyone else gatekeeping any information, see: them bullying tech companies into censoring hunter biden stories all the while saying nothing while prominent democrats spread wild conspiracies about mailboxes being picked up.

Legacy media started a complete disinformation campaign about horse reins that made it all the way to the wh and they changed a policy about horses at the border for something that wasn't happening. Facebook isn't the problem. And that's the bigger question, if people are taking in information over legacy media the solution shouldn't be let's shut all that down...the question should be why is that?

It's even worse. Doesn't have to be $600 per month. It's $600 per year, total from all sources.

So if you get more than $600 incoming from Venmo, they'll send you and the IRS a tax form (I presume it will be a 1099). Doesn't matter if it's birthday gifts, splitting hotel rooms/dinners/bar tabs, collecting to buy someone's birthday gift, etc, or a combination of any of it. If the aggregate is more than $600, they'll send you and the IRS a tax form.

It's only taxable if it's normally taxable, but I was always told if your gross income didn't match the total of your w2s and 1099s, then it was a potential flag for audit.

Imo it's less about catching and taxing those tiny transactions (although they do want this too) and more about monitoring the flow of money.
