If you aren’t on your laptop in the ICU while recovering from a heart attack you really don’t have the drive needed to make it in business.

I didn’t pay the doctors for their services, but I did give them a QR code with a link to my seminars. 6 months later I got a bouquet of flowers from the entire hospital staff. They all quit their jobs and became millionaires and the hospital closed down. If the sick people would simply follow my 73 step plan they wouldn’t even need a hospital

I actually find it useful, as much as I hate to admit it. A huge part of my business is networking, status hyping, schmoozing, etc.

Interesting note: years ago when I got laid off and started my business, I updated my title from “sales” to “owner.” I immediately got bombarded with spam. At that point, my revenue was literally ZERO, but I’m getting hit up left and right like some sort of celebrity entrepreneur.

Man, recruiters hit me up hard back in 2015-19. Received at least 4 emails/week for various positions. Many still want to connect.

Pass.

I work for Humana so I get tons of messages about being an insurance salesman despite my job giving me no qualifications at all to sell anything.

I also love that I put ‘night auditor’ in my profile from my hotel days. I get job recommendations for things like auditing factories and companies and things. Not quite in the same ballpark.

Even Monster and Indeed have both become shells of their former selves. The AI-generated filters are insane to work around whether looking to hire or for employment. Once you give it so much info, finding something outside your designated "field of interest" becomes nearly impossible w/o resetting defaults and removing your resume. But even in that case it seems to retain the info you gave it.

You're helping me to death, thanks.

If you want to feel wanted/needed by recruiters, just list "PLC Programming" in your skills tree. You'll become the single lil' debbie snack cake at a fat camp. I'm talking recruiter emails in full Mandarin and Hindi. And they're all hiring for Toyota/Subaru.

I see you are a CPA in Kentucky which is why I think you'd be perfect for solar panel sales in Nebraska. - Typical recruiter

I’m in cybersecurity and I am constantly contacted by recruiters looking to hire for low level help desk or tech support jobs.

Most recruiters play a numbers game on LinkedIn… they just look for 1-2 keywords and scatter-shoot messages to literally everyone who has them anywhere on their profile.

Computer programs and algorithms have taken over. If you don't have or use the latest buzz words online job apps are useless. Networking is crucial to get someone to pass your resume directly to the hiring manager.

What do you secure?

Everyone "knows" #LinkedIn is absolutely awful.

But did you know that most people aren't quite sure WHY #LinkedIn is awful?

Let me tell you what YOU need to know so you can be more effective in HATING #LinkedIn: ⬇️⬇️⬇️

💪 - #LinkedIn has the power to make "professionals" write like 3rd grade girls using emojis and nonsensical #HashTags

📰 - The "#NewsFeed" is full of morons who have no business being promoted

🥇 - Most posts are focused on self-promotion over #facts

📜 - Everything is written in some odd format where each sentence is separated as a #paragraph

Here at #WayneDouganInc, we help you GROW in your hatred of #LinkedIn.
