Was reading about Bunning last night, thinking it was crazy that he had stayed available this long. Most Ks of any pitcher below 3000. But then you sneak Juan Gonzalez in with him. Two MVPs and two HR titles. Impressive selections this late.I’ll finish my outfield with a 2-time MVP who finished top 5 two other times. He led the league in homers twice and RBI’s once and was an absolute beast in the 90’s, destined for the HOF before injuries hampered his career in his early 30’s.
Juan Gonzalez
And then I’ll finish my rotation with a hall of famer who was second only to Walter Johnson in career strikeouts when he retired in 1971. He’s one of only 5 guys to pitch a no-hitter in both leagues, and the ONLY hall of famer to get elected to the US Senate (not that that means anything, just interesting)
Jim Bunning
Quick story about Bunning; I actually picked him for a school project in local history when I was maybe 12 years old. He was in the House of Representatives at the time and he actually lived in my little town of Southgate. His phone number was in the book so little 12 year-old me figured I’d give him a call and see if he’d do an interview with me. He wasn’t home so I left a message, never thinking he’d call back but sure enough he was kind enough to do so.
I’ll never forget the slack-jawed look of confusion on my mom’s face when she handed me the phone and said “uhhh Congressman Bunning is on the phone....for YOU.”
@drcats2013 and back on to you sir
You aren't neutralizing mine, I don't care who the catcher is.I'm glad I picked up Campanella at catcher to try and neutralize some baserunners since he has the highest percentage of runners thrown out.

I thought @CB3UK was otc.Hey man, did you know you’re OTC. I know you said you aren’t getting notifications.
You were notified at 12:38 pm eastern time. CB3 was put on the clock, maybe a little before your 4 hours was up, not sure. But by then it had already been more than 4 hours since the previous pick. Either way, CB3 is on the clock, he hasn't picked yet, and you can make a pick at any time.I thought @CB3UK was otc.
Dammit, I hate holding these things up. It isn't Friday, how'd it get back to me? At any rate, I can use a quality reserve in the outfield. I'll take a hall of famer with a .308ba and a great arm. But that isn't what sealed the deal. Ball control coming off the bat. This guy was something. He could even reach out and touch his friends. Richie AshburnI’m not getting alerts half the time either.
It isn't a perfect system. Best to just pop in now and again, be mindful of when your 4 hour window might occur. But could be difficult for persons working in a production facility, night shift, day sleepers, etc.I’m not getting alerts half the time either.
Interesting and good pick. Just the sort of selection that makes this fun. Gonna have to read up on him.Dammit, I hate holding these things up. It isn't Friday, how'd it get back to me? During a game on August 17, 1957, Ashburn hit a foul ball into the stands that struck spectator Alice Roth, wife of Philadelphia Bulletin sports editor Earl Roth, breaking her nose. When play resumed Ashburn fouled off another ball that struck her while she was being carried off in a stretcher.[4] Ashburn and Mrs. Roth maintained a friendship for many years, and the Roths' son later served as a Phillies batboy.

Recent HOF'er. Didn't look to see if he's your starting catcher or if he's a back up for you, but he also played 1B, a few games at 3B and OF. Switch hitter. Bill James says he was underrated as a catcher and was actually above average defensive player early in his career.Ted Simmons @csrupp youre up

Okay, well . . . apologies for skipping over @csrupp . . . seems like there's been a plus amount of hoping over today.@KopiKat you are up
Was so happy to see him get out of Cleveland. Although he had been in some great teams. They worked him hard. Not that it was gonna be much easier in Arlington. But pitching in the new indoor park was (is eventually) gonna be a big plus for him. Great arm. Awesome competitor. For my fourth pitcher, I will be taking a current guy who is an absolute monster. 2 Cy Youngs, two more top 3 vote finishes for Cy Youngs. A larger, power pitcher with an absolutely devastating sinker and breaking ball that resembles both a curve and a slider. In a 6 year span of full time starting he's averaged a monstrous 227 strikeouts a year, some years pushing 300. A career 3.16 ERA, also known for his high win totals and league leading durability.
I'll take Corey Kluber.
Way to go young . . . quietly. 24 year old MLB rock star. Hit for the cycle after he had been in the league for, what, 3 months? Dude has put on show after show. Might hold the record for the most pressure put on a hitter at the youngest age in a world series.I'll take Cody Bellinger.
Uhhh he was taken in the 2nd round ಠ_ಠChristy Mathewson. You’re up, @BigBlueEric.
I like these better: ( . ) ( . )Uhhh he was taken in the 2nd round ಠ_ಠ
It’s just a simple oversight of course, but that’sa pretty funny one.jrpross beat me to it lol.
Well, Gehringer was in the upteenth round, so you never know. It’s just a simple oversight of course, but that’sa pretty funny one.
Is Ty Cobb still out there?
