I need a closer. Give me a recently inducted HOFer, Lee Smith.

Haha I’m here. Tougher to keep up when we’re getting through 2 picks a day. I’ll take the last closer to win the cy young. Eric Gagne 55/55 saves with a 1.2 ERA . Lights out if we get to 9th with lead . @hotelblue

I’ll finish my outfield with a 2-time MVP who finished top 5 two other times. He led the league in homers twice and RBI’s once and was an absolute beast in the 90’s, destined for the HOF before injuries hampered his career in his early 30’s.

Juan Gonzalez

And then I’ll finish my rotation with a hall of famer who was second only to Walter Johnson in career strikeouts when he retired in 1971. He’s one of only 5 guys to pitch a no-hitter in both leagues, and the ONLY hall of famer to get elected to the US Senate (not that that means anything, just interesting)

Jim Bunning

Quick story about Bunning; I actually picked him for a school project in local history when I was maybe 12 years old. He was in the House of Representatives at the time and he actually lived in my little town of Southgate. His phone number was in the book so little 12 year-old me figured I’d give him a call and see if he’d do an interview with me. He wasn’t home so I left a message, never thinking he’d call back but sure enough he was kind enough to do so.

I’ll never forget the slack-jawed look of confusion on my mom’s face when she handed me the phone and said “uhhh Congressman Bunning is on the phone....for YOU.”

@drcats2013 and back on to you sir

Omg what a steal with Juan Gonzalez. A+ pick.

Ok, I need to start my bench off with some speed. I need a pinch runner that is one of the best base stealers of all time. Give me a player that started his career with 3 straight 100+ steal seasons. I’ll take Vince Coleman.

I was shocked nobody had picked him. I thought about him last go around but positional needs took precedence. Never dreamed I’d still get him here. His stretch from 96-99 was incredible. I looked up the stats and he AVERAGED 43 homers and 140 RBI those years, hitting between .296 and .326. I mean we’re basically drafting guys in their prime right? That’s a heck of a guy to be left in round 13.

He should have gone in the first 8 rounds. Steal of the draft IMO. Was looking forward to adding him to my bench if no one wanted him for a starter, and then you swooped in lol.

i need some depth in the outfield. give me an all around player and hof-er...

tim raines

@quest4#9

sigh that was my pick haha. I will take Jake Arrieta 22-6 with a 1.7 ERA and a Cy Young. Now have 4 starters who in their prime can win any game.
