Had a feeling you were probably going to take him this pick if I didn’t haha
I’m actually not furious about that one. I was torn between him and another guy that you probably know who he is. I was leaning Buster, but this guy is right there. And fortunately the next 2 guys have catchers so I should be ok.

Alright, give me one of the best lead off hitters in baseball history, and a hell of a defensive player, to boot. To fill my CF position, I’ll take Kenny Lofton. @jrpross is up for 2
Woo-hoo!

Aright, like I said I was torn between Buster and this guy. And honestly, he may be the better choice for chemistry sake. He’s won more gold gloves at catcher than any non-latino that isn’t named after a place where you sit to wait for a bus. He’s won 2 World Series & he’s known as the best pitch caller in the business. And he’s a career .282 hitter.

Yadier Molina.

And I’ll do something similar for 3rd base. 8 gold gloves, a World Series, .281 hitter, 300+ hole runs, 500+ doubles, and rookie of the year, Scott Rolen.

@drcats2013 go for it!

I was sooo hoping Scott would make it back around to fill my final fielding spot with.

I need a closer. I was torn between two until I compared postseason statistics, and then it was easy. In his first two World Series appearances, he pitched 11 combined innings allowing 0 runs and a mere 3 hits. I’ll take Rich “Goose” Gossage. @hotelblue up for 2

I loved watching him play when we got to see him on TV, or usually on Sportscenter highlights. He was just as exciting on defense in the outfield as he was at the plate.

Sadly I’m too young to really remember those exiting Indians teams, but as a kid, I remember when my Cubbies signed him. I was so excited. He was pretty old then but still played really well

Lofton was an amazing athlete. He also started at PG for two seasons in college at Arizona & was pretty solid. He played on some damn good teams there with Steve Kerr & Sean Elliot.

Yeah, back in those days (Im only 36 so these were prime teen years for me lol) we had no interleague, so this manufactured Reds/Indians rivalry wasnt really a thing. I enjoyed the hell out of those Cleveland teams. Lofton, Belle, Thome, Vizquel etc etc.....they really were the Buffalo Bills of baseball. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

Hot damn, I had forgetten that but youre right.

gold gloves, switch hitter, led league in stolen bases, ws champ. also fills second base for me.

give me luis castillo.
I was thinking long and hard about using my last SP pick on Castillo. I need one good Reds homer pick on my mound [laughing]

Be great if MLB would get off their ass so we could watch him toss that filth again this season.

no player ever was hurt by steinbrenner’s style more than this guy. lifetime .307, 9 gold gloves at first, and never played in a ws despite being with the yanks his whole career. ironically he finally got in the playoffs in ‘95 where he batted .417

give me don mattingly.

Best player in baseball in the mid-late 80s IMO. No doubt HOFer if not for injuries. I’ve always been a big fan of his.
