The numbers this man put up were so good that it's almost cartoonish. His career batting average (.356) is the 3rd highest in the history of baseball. He had a better than 1.000 OPS 5 times. In one 3 year stretch, he compiled 656 hits, stole 102 bases and hit .393. In his last season, before he was banned for something he didn't do, he hit .382 and set a career high in HRs and RBIs. If the MLB hadn't wrongfully stolen the rest of his career he would have been a first round pick in this draft.
"He was the finest natural hitter in the history of the game." Ty Cobb
"I copied his style because I thought he was the greatest hitter I had ever seen, the greatest natural hitter I ever saw. He's the guy who made me a hitter." Babe Ruth
"Jackson's fall from grace is one of the real tragedies of baseball. He was more sinned against than sinning." Connie Mack
With the steal of the draft, I'll take "Shoeless Joe" Jackson.

I planned on picking him a few times but I recon he would just throw the series. Couldn't afford any slip ups.
Quite a hitter. I had considered him but the stigma caused me to hesitate. The numbers this man put up were so good that it's almost cartoonish. I thought of drafting him but I didn’t want to go through the hassle of turning a cornfield into a ballpark. The numbers this man put up were so good that it's almost cartoonish. Marge Schott for team owner and Pete can be player / manager . . . just so nobody else goes unremindedComing into this thing, I considered trying to put together an all scoundrels and rogues team or come as close as I could.
1b - McGwire
2b - Altuve
3b -Rose
ss - ARod
lf - Bonds
cf - Shoeless Joe
rf - Sosa
c - ?

Bench - Bagwell, ?, ?
I have a few ideas for the ?'s but they haven't been taken yet, if at all and didn't want to mention anyone.
Except he didn't throw the series. He was acquitted of it in court. He batted .375 with a World Series record 12 hits.I planned on picking him a few times but I recon he would just throw the series. Couldn't afford any slip ups.

But he more than made up for it in all the other areas. Despite only hitting 54 HRs, his career OPS was .940 and he had 168 triples.Good pick, my problem with him was power. He averaged about 3 home runs per year. Good contact hitter though.
Again he was acquitted of it in court. Everything else is just opinion. Even if the court is wrong the supposed cheating is irrelevant to this draft. Barry Bonds went 2nd overall and Pete Rose went in the 1st round.Except for the 3 Triples he gave up in 1 series. You don't have to throw every game to win some money just gotta lose the series.
I think I'm going to ask people to download that WhatsApp for future drafts. Free text message service where you can still remain anoymous.

what's wrong with ChapmanAroldis Chapman could be closer. And didn't Robinson Cano do something?
what's wrong with Chapman
Just another day at the office. He was accused of beating his girlfriend and then firing off a gun. It was eventually dismissed, so I probably shouldn't have said anything. Additionally, he apparently turned some other defector over to Cuba after his failed defection attempt in order to get on their national baseball team.
I've played in a couple of baseball sim leagues with Baseball Mogul and Out of the Park...they are really interesting and I wish we could upload our lineups into one of them to have a season/playoffs.
I thought about offering to sim the matchups in OOTP19 but I have no idea how to run the sims in that game.
I can install Baseball Mogul if we want to give that a shot. It would give a far better representation of reality than voting, considering many don't know who all of these players are.
I know you can pick real teams from ransoms seasons and put them in a league. I would assume you could do that wit players also

I had him in my top 5.This guy was a 2 time MVP & 3 time WS winner. He controlled every game behind the plate & was considered one of the very best game callers of all time. He was literally a coach on the field, serving as player/manager for the Tigers, winning both the MVP & AL pennant in ‘34 & then leading Detroit to a WS title in ‘35.
He was a very good hitting catcher with an average 162 game stat line of .320/.419/.897 with 13 HR, 91 RBI, 36 2B, 7 3B & 114 runs scored. He could really handle the bat, rarely striking out. He only whiffed 8 times in 606 PA in 1929 & also had a great eye with a BB rate of 13.8%. Sadly, his HOF career was cut short by a fastball to the temple but he’s still a consensus top 5-10 catcher of all time. I’ll take Mickey Cochrane.

I've often wondered about those triples. Playing in the teens. Sure Jackson had more than anyone, so he was fast. Just not sure how skillful or evolved the relay throw may have been in the teens. And how often a ball hitting a wall in those days (construction) would just go dead, not bounce off and help the outfielder save the several many precious feet and yards commonly observed throughout the live ball era. Footing, playing in wet conditions, lumpy outfields . . . nice clean, straight one-hops after long throws back then or would a lot of them have gone off-line due to lesser quality field conditions? But he more than made up for it in all the other areas. Is Robin Yount still on the board? I dont trust my own eyes anymore to double check the list lol. If so, theres my starting SS.
