Jamal Murray announcing tomorrow (6/24) on TSN at 6 PM

Here it is again! And another person acting like we're all gonna be surprised by the choice, just like I just posted. They do this because then everyone does what they do best, speculate again. People say "well, I thought he was going to Oregon but now someone says we're gonna be shocked!". It's all BS. And where is this guy from???? You guessed it, CANADA!!!!

All it is, is a bunch of hometown folks trying to act like its a mystery and play the "nobody knows" card along with the "shock the world" card. It's played out. It's like a kid saying he's gonna shock the world and committing to duke when they've been recruiting him the most anyway. After the announcement everyone's shaking their head going "I thought we were going to be shocked". Being shocked is picking cal Berkeley or Murray state. They do that to get attention and for people to watch. Makes me more and more sure that he's going to Oregon.

Oregon is a shocking choice. All logic dictates he should come to UK. Going to Oregon makes nearly zero sense from a b-ball standpoint. I'm just saying they use the word shocking and be truthful about it..just for reasons other than you infer.

"THE bench Guy" from Toronto, whoever he is said he just got word on where Murray will be going "I just got word. No spoilers- bit a lot of you will be shocked!"

Just saying, but ya know a lot of people would be shocked by a top basketball recruit accepting an offer from Oregon over an offer from Kentucky.

Some local media member, I think. He does a lot of interviews with players before and after games (see his YouTube channel). He's not predicting anything, just hearing what he heard from people he knows. However, it's probably not much more than just optimism or something. Matt Jones says nobody knows. There's "evidence" that supports him going to Oregon, too. We will see.

Wynyard is likely coming in at Christmas and will deepen the bench inside.

Our inside rotation come tourney time will be solid:

PF Poythress/Lee/Wynyard
C Labissiere/Lee/Wynyard

Three 5-stars and a 4-star for two positions seems like it's deep enough to me. Throw in Willis at the 4 if needed and we are even deeper.

If Cal thought we needed another big, don't you think he would have offered some other players after Zimmerman and Diallo went elsewhere? The UF or Charlotte decommits, the Greek kid, a 5th year grad transfer, etc?

You can't worry about injuries. If Anthony Davis gets hurt in 2012, we don't cut down the nets. We probably don't make the Final Four last season if KAT goes down. Heck, it can be argued that losing Poy cost us a title and that's our deepest team ever.

You can't really do anything to counter an injury to a main player. If it happens we are likely sunk no matter who is on the bench.
I understand injuries can't be predicted, but foul trouble is a key in many games - I think we'll be find at the guard/wing positions, playing Mulder, Matthews and hopefully Murray there. The interior game still is concerning to me - I'm sure Lee and Willis could blossom, but nothing has shown that yet.

I know where you're coming from and agree with you. But I won't be shocked at anything at this point. I was amazed that the kid was apparently between us and them, but I'm not amazed anymore. No offense to them. I mean, if we were recruiting a kid that was top 20 in football and was from California, I'd be shocked if he picked us over Oregon. But with this, we all know it's between us and them so why would anyone be shocked if he picked one of us at this point? Confused as to why he'd go to Oregon over Kentucky for basketball? Absolutely! But shocked? Not at this point.

I'll say that I don't have a clue, and I think most people probably don't unless you know someone who knows someone. Beyond that, most of us are in the dark much like the Jaylen Brown's saga. With that being said, the interest seem to wane from a UK fan's perspective and then all of a sudden, it's "nobody knows" and it's "going to shock the world" and our interest increased. I hate to say that TSN and the Canadian writers played us for hits on their website but it kind of feels that way. But like an onbsessed fan does, I'll be F5'ing around 6. So either way, job well done by the media.

"Shocked" is so played out. Didn't that start with shabaz? If so, the shock was not if high charge.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

I was kinda taking the "shocked" part as a positive for UK, because everyone all but had him committed to Oregon over the past couple of days.

That would be my optimistic thought as well, but that chickens not getting counted til 6 or so today.

Me too.Since the Cook remarks came out and the last zillion crystal ball predictions are Oregon I don't see how picking the Ducks is shocking.

I agree. That's the way I took it. It's not a shock to pick Oregon if basically everyone believed that's who you were going to pick to begin with.

That's the point!!!! That's what they want you to think! Let me ask you a simple question, and I'm not being a jerk or getting smart, but who has more fans, UK OR Oregon?? Ok, so who would it benefit more to lead on? UK or Oregon???

They want UK fans to think they have hope so they can get ratings!! It has happened too many times before.

I looked up info about plane fare difference flying from Toronto to Eugene and Toronto to Lexington. I was incorrect in my assumption that there

Don't do this to yourself, man.

That's far too logical of a conclusion to make when it comes to recruiting, especially as far as this class is concerned. Take whatever seems logical and makes the most sense, and predict the opposite because that's the most likely decision that will be made. I don't know what's going on. This bunch just doesn't want it.

yes, we have been made to drink the cool aid once again. This is nothing more than a last 2 day attempt to give this thing some fizz after the tweet came out and drained the drama from his announcement. The social media knows that we are suckers for this stuff because we are year round UK basketball fans. If our name wasnt in the mix no one outside of a couple dozen UO bb fans would even care. This kid made the most of his 15 minutes with the allstar game and UK visit. Congrats.....Oh not congrats on your college choice but for bringing me up out of my 2015 springtime recruiting depression cellar only to slap me in the face with the same shovel you got me with over the last half dozen recruitment swings and misses. I deserve what I get. LOL

The more I think about Murray tweet about eating chicken wings-- maybe it's a hint for Kentucky Fried Chicken. Hey, its as good of a hint of where he is going as anything else!

But you're taking this comment as truth. Like it's really gonna shock someone.
They're not gonna say he's coming to Kentucky. They're just gonna make everyone second guess what the majority of people are predicting so you still have one last hope and reason to watch.

Then what? We all sit here if he commits to Oregon and say "whyd he say that was gonna shock us" while they're laughing at the higher ratings they helped produce more of.

I find it a bit funny that everyone is all "all the experts are picking Oregon!" as if they haven't been wrong 2 or 3 times this spring alone.

Hell, a majority of them were dead wrong about Randle too. It can happen.

Not saying he won't pick Oregon, but all the chicken littles writing it in stone just because the collective minded media thinks so doesn't exactly convince me of anything...yet.

I know where Jamal Murray will be committing in an hour. I'll drop a hint for you guys. Hope you all figure it out!

The tweet by the Oregon player is what worries me more than any media guy and what he/she might be saying.

Foul trouble is a concern, but what can you do?

It's unrealistic to think we can be three deep with studs at the 4 and 5 spots.

We will have THREE 5-stars and likely a 4-star (Wynyard) inside when the it really counts (tourney time).

There's 80 minutes at the 4 and 5 spots.

You can expect Labissiere to be on the floor unless he is in foul trouble. That's probably close to 30mpg.

Same for Poythress, he'll play some at the 3 as well. Look for him to get around 25mpg at the 4 spot.

Lee is going to get a lot of minutes. Probably around 20mpg.

That leaves around 5-10mpg for a fourth guy. If we have major foul trouble, then maybe the fourth guy gets 15 minutes.

Willis gets those 5-10mpg early in the season and if Wynyard comes in (which most expect), then he gets those minutes after he gets here.

We aren't getting a 5-star to come in and play 5-10mpg. Having a 4-star in that spot could really pay off.

We will be fine inside, IMHO.

For me it's not so much the "experts" picking them as it is the tweet from the Oregon kids. I legit think they spilled the beans and didn't think it would get out, and the Murray's were left scrambling trying to salvage any sort of "suspense" for the announcement.

If the whole world has turned upside down in the last few years.....why not college b'ball recruiting? It just took recruiting a year or two longer to implode.
