Finally got the Down Home Bourbon approved by TTB.

Celebrated by opening my Blantons Gold, and I’m now drunk!

- Could not have been happier for Steph Curry last night. I loathe everything about Harden/Paul and how they play.

- Maybe it’s the Blantons but Johnny Ola in Godfather 2 looks like Uncle June in Sopranos. Maybe I’ll google it.

- I’m sure glad to be in a City where Ruby’s is a great option, but certainly not the show in town. Taking a 2 year old is just awesome, I hope he threw a fry at the neighboring tables like my kids do.

- had a dr visit this week that turned out I had apparently got shingles. After freaking out for a few days it turns out the dr was wrong and it’s folliculitis.

I’ve been sent to the couch a few times, but not even being worthy of that this week was a huge hit to my confidence!

You don’t think I was having fun talking trash back to an old friend and calling him by his wife’s name because I was having fun, @Strokin_Bandit ? Because I was. Maybe YOU should lighten up my friend.

Folliculitis???? Good thing you hit the couch man! Gotta be tough having small red bumps because you probably don’t get to shower between sweating all day. I feel you though, it’s annoying. I get it sometimes too from sweating all day in the heat here.

Brad Paisley on tap tonight at a private bar next to the stage. Should be a good time. #notahumblebragjustwhatimdoingtonight

Why would it be an issue for parents to take their kids to a nice place to eat?

Bragging out LOUD: My kids have been going to "high end" restaurants starting when the youngest was 4. I've had exactly zero issues. Key is to know what they serve and what they will eat if there isn't a designated childrens menu.

Exactly right. My folks took my brother and i to nice places all tbe time. Of course we had been taught how to act and behave in such situations.

In fact, one moment that i will never forget. At Christmas we always went to the Brass Lantern, which at the time was one of the nicest restaurants around, for my mom's birthday. I was probably 8 & my brother was 6. So, anywho this older couple stopped by our table, as they were leaving, and told my folks that they had overheard my brother & I ordering our food and how polite we were to the server and thst they were impressed by our manners. I'll never forget how proud my mom was. Point is teach your kids how to behave, take away their gat dayum phone for an hour or so, and you too can enjoy a fine meal out. JaimeAnthony obviously has it figured it.

G is basically 4.:cry:o_O

If you’re watching Game of Thrones then you know it’s time to start thinking about an old fashioned betrothal. And it just so happens that I have an almost 4 year old daughter. Bag of gold and a fine horse should be enough to bring me to the negotiating table.

Damn.... I thought knowing the name of the roaches at the Farrell’s in MadVegas at 4 a.m. on a daily basis was the BMF’ing thing there was!!
Even threw them pickles while yelling their names as they ran off with them.

It's not like we're eating Ruby's with him often, as far as I can recall us 3 haven't ever done anything like that. Otherwise it's one of the kid friendly places around town or pizza. He's a good kid but 2 vs 1 at 5p isn't that tough. Ruby's was great with him, btw. We were out by 7p before the crowd arrived.

I do agree heavily with that type of meal being an adult relaxation though. He won't be joining often. Dad getting 1 glass of wine so he can safely drive us home isn't ideal. He enjoyed the hell out of it, though. Which made it fun. He was solely focused on the Wildcat Cake and Banana Fosters that were coming out. He put in work on a slice of the cake.

That place is outstanding, btw. Easily his biggest bar area, not even counting the patio. Ruby really topped my expectations. They have what appears to be a UK themed party room just for recruiting visits. I'm sure the fine folks at BHG aren't pleased as they pay Cal a bunch of money. Granted, he's been doing those meals at Tony's for several years.

NY Strip cooked to perfection, as expected. Manager came to check, waiter checked. Service was dialed in. A+ as expected.

There ya go, rich.

:100points:

Worship Ruby’s and can’t wait to check out the one in Lexington. Place is the best damn well run high end joint in the state and the food is always amazing.

We ate Cracker Barrel after t-ball this morning and both of my kids watched DuckTales on YouTubeTV, on mute, on two different iPhones, simultaneously. Same deal basically.

Also, my 2yo daughter kept saying “Google STOP” to the muzak playing at IKEA a while ago, so their perceptions of their agency in the world are not being skewed AT ALL by living in a home with ubiquitous voice activated, “lady-in-the-tube”, robot assistants, IMO

Airbody done met Jeff Ruby say yyeeeaaaaaaaa

I grew up going to all kinds of restaurants, and no matter the type of place, I was expected to behave, sit in my seat, & be polite, but my parents were reasonable and made sure the little ones had toys etc to help keep them quiet and occupied.

One of the coolest things about my dad was that he encouraged me to try new and different foods. If I ordered something and then I didn’t like it, he would tell the waiter that, of course, he would pay for the dish I didn’t care for, but he would then send it back and order something else for me that I would like. Therefore, I was never afraid to try something new.

We did the same for our children. We always made sure that no matter what type of restaurant, our children were quiet and polite and we made the experience as positive as we could by making sure they had something to occupy them, and by making sure they had something to eat that they really liked.

It never fails to annoy me to see people bringing young children to a restaurant and they expect that child to sit for hours and don’t bring anything to help entertain them and keep them occupied. Thank the Lord for videos on phones. We use them for our grandsons all the time. They are almost 4 and almost 2 and they go to any restaurant with us including Jeff Ruby’s in Cincinnati, and if they get restless, Micky Mouse Clubhouse can always save the day!

- Not a beer snob by any means...but Velvet Hammer by Peticolas is the shit.

- Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse tonight. A/A+ everytime.

- Went 2-0-2 on Election Day last Saturday...no losses, but two runoffs. Ugliest, most hate filled campaign I have ever been apart of. You name it, it's been brought up. I love it. Taking a toll on the candidates however.

- Table shuffleboard is the best bar game. Not close. Also a great gamble.

- Took two days off after the election and went to Winstar Casino in Oklahoma to gamble. The biggest casino in the world...and a huge POS ripoff. You have to give the house $.50 on every table bet. WTF? Lost my ass, and not necessarily because of that. Good mind clear before the runoff though.

- McDaniels and Blackshear...9.

I may have had an issue in that very place.

I bought an apron. So it's all good.

Steakhouse visits should be at a 1:8 rotation of restaurant selections... max.

That or your town doesn’t offer decent restaurants.

Wife is super stressed and really needs a weekend away. She is thinking we should airbnb in Mt. Adams for Memorial Day.

Are there good places to eat / stuff to do there?

Yes, Mt. Adams has places to eat, coffee shop, bars, charming little area. It’s pretty sleepy now. Not a lot going on. OTR down the hill is where the major nightlife, trendy restaurants, bars, breweries, etc. reside.

May I suggest Hotel Covington instead? Cool new hotel with a nice restaurant in it, right near Braxton Brewery and a bunch of other bars and restaurants.

Amazon doesn't do the best job at promoting when their shows are coming back. But Sneaky Pete Season 3 just dropped.
