MLB player gets lifetime ban for betting...which he sucked at

Marcano made $1.7 million in salary so far and got a lifetime ban for betting $150,000 on baseball while with the Pirates, including betting on Pittsburgh. The worst part is this tidbit from the article:

Marcano bet almost exclusively on the outcomes of games and lost all of his parlay bets involving the Pirates, winning just 4.3% of all of his MLB-related bets, according to the league.

Get to know Jaxson Robinson (interview+vids)

This article is a couple of weeks old but has some really great stuff here talking about Pope/UK and his mindset. Sounds like a winner.

Robinson would fit that role. He’s also shown himself to be a player who isn’t concerned as much with individual stats as he is with team-first basketball, evidenced by his willingness to come off the bench for the Cougars this past season. “I mean, all I want to do is win. It doesn’t matter where I’m at,” he said. “Even today at the Combine — my team got a great win today. I think we showed we were the better team. We all played unselfishly. Everybody ate. It just feels good when everybody’s winning. … So just being willing to do whatever it takes to win the ballgame — that’s all that has mattered to me since I’ve been playing basketball.”

Really performed big time on the NCAAT stage. Needs to bump up his rebounding and 3pt %. Does that and he's a college star.

Review rules are idiotic! Either change them or do away with the review.

In last night's NBA game the Mavericks ask for a review on an out-of-bounds play. The review showed that the ball did go off of the T-Wolves player. But, it also showed that Kyrie Irving clearly fouled him causing the ball to go off his hand. However, the refs could only look at who touched the ball last. How silly is that? If the objective is to get the play call correct, then look at the whole play! If teams are going to be allowed to challenge a call and have the officials view the replay, then view the whole play!! And, for that matter, why should some plays be reviewable and others not? And, while I'm on a rant about replays, the one that still drives me crazy is in basketball when a player from behind knocks the ball out of the player's hands in front of him. The player behind clearly forces the direction of the ball, but it grazes the pinky of the player in front last. In every basketball game in America that call is going to the player in front except in the last 2 minutes of a game when it is reviewed. Sorry for the rant, but does this drive anyone else crazy?

Off topic: Back from SilverSea Euro Cruise

This isn’t about me, Chase and others requested some info on it, but I went in and came out with a 3 week old contused knee that slowed me a bit, high maintenance for wife and people around me, I didn’t like that feeling. However, I am healing, this cruise was 90% older people, saw one lady coming out of a shop fall ass-over-teakettle during a Scotland excursion, probably returned home after hurting her wrist.
We cruised England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland, but free and pay excursions were particularly fun, considering high temps over-there in May were low 60s. Highlights for me was hearing history/seeing a couple of old castles and famous battles nearby, viewing some ruins still left as memories of the terrible WWII bombings of churches, etc, by Germany, the surprising beauty/cleanliness/fresh look of all structures/farmlands in Wales, the many windmills all across Europe on farm land and on platforms in the waters of the English Channel. Winchester is a fabulous city to visit about an hour south of London and not just the Cathedral, a relaxing, flowing narrow river runs through the city, Jane Austen and others’ famous old homes are located there, as well as many great shops, restaurants, pubs and relaxing benches.
The best news I learned for you future cruisers is about Alaska, literally 100% of people who’ve been there loved their Alaskan cruises, flying further north up there really gets you into wild, unbelievable scenery and wildlife realism up close.

Best Credit Card

Tired of my bank's basic credit card that gives virtually no rewards. It does but it is something like 1 point per dollar charged, but it takes an absurd amount of points to redeem for prizes. It'll be something like 5,000 points to get a can opener (eyeroll).

So tell me, Paddockers, what is the best credit card with rewards and a reasonable annual fee?

Rewards could be cash back, airline miles, groceries, or whatever else is out there.
