Let’s say Stoops calls it quits after the bowl game. Obviously none of us want Mitch making the decision so let’s say he forms a committee to interview prospects. This is most likely done anyway. I would have Rich Brooks and Tim Couch to start. Let’s say there are 5-6 guys on the committee. Who else do you all choose?

Barely broke a sweat

Not being a smartass just wondering. Glad it was a tie game because I feel like DJ would have done the exact same thing if we were down 1 and we’d be dissecting an L right now.

I know it’s a young team (always), but we’ve got to look to pass in those situations. We get tight and go 1on1. That’s unsustainable.

I think for the first time in a number of years the Basketball team is going to make us forget about Football. This team has moxy and is only going to keep getting better. It is so early in the season and we are already seeing things from this basketball team we have not seen in previous seasons. We have players that can play defense, shoot the 3, drive to the basket, and pass the rock. All of this and we don’t even have our 7 footers on the floor yet. I am sure they are going to drop some games but Calipari is giving us hope he can get back to the elite levels he achieved earlier in his career at UK.

I’m afraid it’s gonna get real ugly..not just the score. The pent up frustrations of this team, undisciplined players in that atmosphere. Guessing trash cans may be flying around on Saturday 🗑️ . Wish they could end on at least one positive note, but obviously that’s hard to see with the past several weeks.

I think some of that has to do with no big currently playing but alot of it has to do with the fact UK has 5-6 guys that can make shots.

Not a great look for Stoops right now.

I think this is absolutely correct. Stoops clearly has no answers. Players they've paid the most NIL haven't proven their worth. The offense continues to be the weakest part of the program, as it has for the vast majority of the Stoops 11 11-year tenure. Even in the most successful years, the offense was so one-dimensional that we may as well run the triple option. Stoops appears to have zero fire and just stands on the sidelines. His life has changed with divorce and he's made a pile of money. His motivation appears much different.

The Louisville game appears a lost cause. The transfer portal is sure to be a wild ride with many contributors hitting the road. We have no QB for next year. Stoops has clearly lost the fanbase. Louisville hired one of the most innovative offensive minds as HC, while UK continues to play the slowest and most ineffective style in CFB. Stoops buyout means he can't be fired and I don't trust Barnhart to make a good hire anyway. The SEC gets infinitely tougher next year.

It all adds up to a gigantic $h*^ sandwich and I agree that it gets worse from here.

I have no clue how that stacks up historically, but that is pretty impressive.

I swear, I almost fell out of my chair from laughing last night when the announcer said, "Cal said the Kansas game was on him because he hadnt shown the team how to close out games." But when Camp Cal starts he will take care of that! Did anyone else catch that? Is he possibly bringing in a consultant to teach this to them, since in the time he has been here he obviously has proven that he has no clue himself. Maybe he should show them how to make free throws to close out games, and make substitutions that actually make sense. When he knew it was a fouling situation last night, why didnt he draw up a play for Reed to be the one getting fouled? I would be my next paycheck he wouldve went up there and knocked them both down. Obviously Wagner was going to be the one and he is shooting around 50% on the season I thought they said last night? Some of the BS he comes up with is just comical.

but staying up watching the awesome late night UCLA-Marquette game really makes me wish the Cats would do the Maui Invitational one of these years. Just a super fun, competitive event.

Young teams have to learn how to win games when they don’t play perfect like tonight. Great team win.

I know there are many folks on here who continue to insist the rest of us have unreasonable expectations, that we shouldn’t expect better than Stoops and believe he should stay as long as he wants. But Missouri proves them wrong. You CAN have special seasons. They have made an SEC championship game and came pretty darn close this year…with two different coaches making a lot less money than Stoops. Shoot, look at the job Brohm has done in one freaking year. He has turned around the program and will likely coach circles around Stoops next week. How is it possible in 1 year to beat a coach that has been in the same position for 11 years? Recruiting and scheme. And you don’t have to recruit at Alabama’s level either. The fans that continually lecture the rest of us on our poor history, lack of high school talent in KY etc., are the problem (along with Barnhart), and we’ll never get to the next level unless we all demand better. Stoops was a good hire who has done some great things for UK, but it’s time for a change. Normally I would say keep the coach and demand changes, the problem is, we know he’s not capable of changing because he is so stubborn and stuck in his ways. 11 years and 6 offensive coordinators proves this. You can’t consist win big with a guy who plays not to lose. You just can’t. Those 10 win seasons feel like a long time ago, and we’re moving in the wrong direction.
