If Coach Stoops wants to stay at Kentucky.............

If Coach Stoops wants to remain the head coach at Kentucky - then he should demand that his contract be re-written and it published for all to see. The new contract needs to say that his buyout to leave is the same as the buyout if Kentucky were to fire him! I have been listening and to many football blogs and read a lot of commentary on what went down. While I don't actually know the facts - I know that their was definitely smoke! I also believe the old saying if it walks like, it talks like and it smells like - then it probably is! The TexAgs blog should be heard by everyone of this fan base. The morning show was almost an hour long blog - if you hear it - you have a pretty good feeling for what happened and was going to happen. Mark Stoops is done at Kentucky as to making this program any better unless he does something similar to this in my opinion. If I were President of UK or Athletic Director I would be wanting a meeting and presenting this change to Stoops contract!

Coach Stoops is going to have his hands full keeping and hiring staff, his present team, the current commits and future re-recruiting took a tremendous hit with this news unless something like what I have suggested happens! Beamer, Heupel, Drinkowitz, Brown, Brohm and every other coach of teams we recruit against will be using this info against us from now on.

I have been a Stoops fan from day one. I live out of state and bought season tickets many years ago because I am a long suffering UK Alumnus who believed in him. But unless he becomes super pro -active cleaning up this perception of leaving UK - I think he is basically finished at UK. I was excited again after the Louisville game yesterday - I had decided to not go to a bowl game - but after the win - I changed my mind. Now, I have changed my mind again.

The transfer portal, the player outs of the bowl game, staff changes and the national signing day will let us all know about his and UK's future - and all of those things will be known fairly soon. I will not buy bowl game tickets thru UK now for sure. I'm sure whatever bowl we go to I can get tickets to at the window - if I decide to go. But again my decision will be made based on what I see happens before the bowl game.

I can only hope that AD Barnhart, President Capilouto and Coach Stoops will come together and create a message that we can all get behind and support.

Go Big Blue!

Kentucky’s win Saturday was the best OOC win by any SEC team this year

Top 10 win on the road against your most hated rival to make it 5 straight. The cherry on top is the clout for the conference to get that win.

I seem to be in the minority but I celebrated all weekend. A good number of y’all celebrated that you thought we were losing the coach and staff that brought that victory. Then you cried like babies when your coach seemingly backed out of an offer at a better program. My condolences that Kirby smart won’t be the coach here next year. I suppose maybe we could have gotten the Duke guy. Too bad he couldn’t beat Louisville though.

Our football fans try to apply that basketball entitlement (which is earned) to their football fandom and that’s a problem.

Go cats.

As Being Reported on SEC Now Is Ray Davis DEFINITELY SITTING Out The Bowl Game

Supposedly SEC Now that Ray Davis was quoted as saying yesterday‘s U of L game was his last and he was sitting out the upcoming bowl game. Does anyone know if this is correct? That would definitely hurt our chances of winning and what are the running back could step up to possibly fill his shoes?

Asking for Prayers

Most of you know me as BWO or Funchester, the guy who's been bringing you game replays for years. However, today, I come to you not as the guy who brings you replays for guys but as JT, a person facing a challenging chapter in life. I humbly request your heartfelt prayers for my dear uncle, who is grappling with dementia.

Lately, every day has become a poignant struggle as I navigate the complexities of caring for my uncle and supporting my aunt through this difficult journey. Thankfully, the VA hospital has been a beacon of support, shining a light on our path and providing assistance in ways we couldn't have imagined.

In this time of need, I turn to you, my extended BBN family, seeking not only solace for my uncle but also strength for myself and my aunt. I'm asking for the resilience to find peace of mind amidst the daily challenges, the patience to endure difficult moments, and the fortitude to stay mentally strong.

May your collective prayers serve as a source of comfort, enveloping my family in a warm embrace during this trying time. May the support we receive from you guys be a balm to our souls, bringing a sense of calmness and assurance that we are not alone in this journey.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts, your prayers, and your kindness. May they create a tapestry of hope and healing for my uncle, my aunt, and all those who walk beside them.

With gratitude and sincerity,

JT (BWO)

This Fiasco is So Stoops

The way Stoops has handled this is just like his in game Management. Just like only having 10 players on the field. Leaving a receiver unguarded not once but twice in the same game, or poor clock management during the game. Playing Bend Font Break Defense. This is typical Stoops. Going for the Field Goal instead of the Touchdown to put the game away. After 11 years he is who he is do don’t expect him to change.

Football INSTANT ANALYSIS: UK wins 5th straight against Louisville

Tough day for Louisville fans. You start 10-1 in Jeff Brohm's first year, watch Kentucky sputter down the stretch, and then lose on your homefield to them ranked in the top-10. Mark Stoops really owns this series.

Gotta be honest, I picked Kentucky to win, but as I watched the game play out for a while I didn't think they could win the way they were running it. Liam Coen got in his bag and dialed up some serious strikes against that defense. The interception was inexplicable but Devin Leary "did not flinch," as Mark Stoops would say.

J.J. Weaver taking over the game in the second half was absolutely huge. You have to feel great for him given how the year has gone. All three units left something to be desired but all three units came up with big plays when it counted.

Thought Barion Brown grew up some today. Kentucky actually showed pretty good poise.

Kentucky's 7-5 going into bowl season with a chance to get an eighth win. If you get to 8-5 even if the year isn't what you wanted it's not like it was an embarrassment or anything. Lot of teams would love to be 8-5.

Steal:TO ratio

How often do you take the ball away vs give it away?

In the 2000's, UK has had 11 players total have at least as many steals as TOs for a season. That is 1 every other season (average).
1.67 Dom. Hawkins
1.42 WCS
1.32 Davis
1.26 Rondo
1.25 Harrellson
1.23 Aa. Harrison
1.18 Liggins
1.11 Noel
1.10 Hayes
1.08 Grady
1.06 Wallace
1.00 Ulis

I know it's early! But after 6 games we have 5 guys doing this!!!
Mitchell 3.33
Sheppard 2.38
Theiro 1.25
Wagner 1.11
Dillingham 1.00

The best team ratio in the 2000's was Tubby's 05-06 team with a ratio of 0.71.
After 6 games the 23-24 Cats have a ratio of 1.25, almost double the ratio of the prior best season.
