Welcome to the Official Kentucky @ North Carolina OOC Prediction Contest!

Follow the rules below and make your prediction. I'll publish the results after the game. You can put any comment you would like below your score prediction (put '***' after your prediction to make it easier to separate the comments) but try not to put anything above as my scripts may not be able to find your prediction. This is the 1st of three prediction contests this season: the OOC Contest, the SEC Regular Season contest, and the Postseason Contest.

Whoever predicts the score closest to the actual score wins. I take the absolute value of the difference of your guess of the Kentucky score and the actual plus the absolute value of the difference of your guess of the opponent score and the actual. There is a penalty for picking the wrong winner. That penalty is the worst score among those who predicted the correct winner. In case of a tie, the tiebreaker is used. In case of a tie in the tiebreaker, we have more than one winner.

I will be awarding points for the first 10 places, including a 3 point bonus for a perfect prediction. I will track cumulative point totals and the number of games you make the top 10. This contest ends with the Gonzaga game in the middle of the SEC Regular Season.

Your post should look something really close to the example below. Remember the ":"s and the word "Tiebreaker:"! Do not!! use a "-" as a separator because some of our tiebreakers will be negative.

Starting 2024 off with a bang. Some great OOC games the first three weeks. LSU gonna toy with USC-Los Angeles and UCLA. Alabama sticking it in Wisconsin. Texas and Michigan. Little Ten ain’t about that life.

Momentum killer... Always has to do dumb crap to make it about himself... Plus can't get Bacot his 3rd? I can't stand him. Such a dumb coach.

I don’t think we will be at a disadvantage with bench coaching tonight.

So CBS is showing the Colts on the local station despite being on NFL network. So I cannot get on Directv or YouTube tv and I have a spectrum account out of Cleveland but it is forcing me to the Colts game as well.

Any suggestions?

ESPN says this game is on CBS, but it's the Colts vs Steelers game here. Anyone else the same? Anyone have any help??

Don’t know how to link but got to Twitter (X) and search for Buzz Patterson. He posted a video of a small kid demonstrating extreme bb skills.

Holtmann and the Ohio State should win this game. Lot of empty seats and is Holtmann still at the top of Barney’s list of replacements

Basically doesn’t play for a 6-5 LSU team. Really hate that and feel sorry for the kid after what happened to his Dad.

MARK STOOPS Q&A:

* Stoops says this is the busiest time of the year, but also an exciting time. He’s been on the road recruiting a lot the last week or so. They had some “good on good” work at practice last week, but the Cats had their first day of specific prep for Clemson today at practice. They’ll have about two weeks of practice and hope to be game-ready before they depart for Jacksonville. High energy, players are excited about this game. Incredible weather in LEX (56, sunny) for bowl prep in December.

* Clemson looks a lot like an SEC team with their athletes and physicality. Obviously, a very good football team. Consistent program.

* Still working on HS recruiting with signing day coming up and portal recruiting. “Crazy-busy” time.

* No big surprises in the portal as far as UK’s personnel is concerned. Great communication there. Mostly mutual stuff. Not totally done on that front, but feels really good about the additions they’ve had so far.

* No comment on portal guys who may play in the game. Today was graduation day, so a lot of stuff going on, not ready to address that with everything that‘s going on.

* There’s a balance in these bowl games. You want the guys to be excited about playing and not go down there dreading it with their bodies beat up. But they also stress how important it is to win. It’s one of only two chances you have all year to walk off the field with a trophy, and it makes a big difference in your program to win.

* Stoops still working on WR coaching position. No hints but says some things are in the works.

* Team that is most excited to be in these bowl games often do well, Stoops says. They‘ve been fortunate to establish that culture here, good track record.

* Ray coming back give the players a boost? He thinks so. Doesn’t surprise him. Good group of guys.

* Coen and White have been in the office doing some game prep work and the scouting stuff while Stoops has been out on the road a lot with recruiting.

* Feels good about where they’re at with the HS class, but always open if a good player that fits should arise. The portal is probably more of a factor with needs at this time.

I use Youtube TV but it seems that UK won't be shown due to the Steelers' game. I have an obligation tonight and was hoping to record the game but not sure that will work. Anybody else have this problem?
