Problems with this site or my computer?

I have an Apple Mac Mini with a M2Pro Chip; 32 GB Memory; up to date Sonoma 14.2.1 OS. Should be smoking hot; right? But, when I go to Rupps Runts or Wildcat Lair, it bogs down to a crawl. No other sites; just this one. As an experiment, I cleared all my Website Data from Safari settings/Privacy. Then, dozens of sites stored data on my caches that can be used to track my browsing; without even opening another page; many sites re-appeared. I opened “Manage Website Data” again, without doing ANYTHING else, and 20 more sites stored data on my computer. When I clear the data, the forums work for a little while; then back to being bogged down, with more sites doing their tracking thing. Anyone else have this problem? I’ve never used anything but Safari for decades, and hope it’s not that; I’m an old dog that doesn’t like new tricks. Anyone have any suggestions? I hate to stop using this site, but this is really a problem. Thanks, and GBB!

UK vs UGA

I can see a path where Georgia keeps this close. They are nationally ranked in defending both the two and the three point shot. They have also taken 92 more foul shots than UK. If they draw a lot of fouls, and Kentucky doesn't shoot it as well then it could get very competitive. The bright spot is that they will play at a faster pace than Mississippi State. I don't think Kentucky gets to their seasonal scoring average, but they will get close at home. Once again, the opponent won't be able to score with them. Kentucky 88 Georgia 75

Antonio Reeves. 7 points away from joining the NCAA 2000 point club

Currently at 1993.

202 away from 1000 as a Wildcat. Seems to be on pace to hit 1000 points in the next 10-11 games. That means sometime around @LSU on Feb 21st or at home against Alabama on Feb 24th.

If he were to set that before the LSU game it would likely be @Auburn on Feb 17th. If it takes a 12th game that would put him doing that at Mississippi State on the 27th of Feb.

I'm posting to apologize..

Years ago there was a post about how terrible Coach Tubby Smith was . Topic was the call-in show, and the folks that call to cry about the Coach. One such caller said we should fire him. I sorta made fun of caller by saying he said "far" Tubby. It seemed cute at the time, but now it is overused.

I'm here to say I'm sorry. For those that are getting tired of seeing it.

What happens in the coming days ??

My son got us thinking … NIL, Portal, HS recruits … what if?

is high school recruiting over? What if the SEC, Big10, Big 12, made agreements with conferences like the MAC, Sunbelt, others … that they would take the high school kids, play 5 or 6 games against the power conferences, and then after a year or 2 the power conferences would take the good players thru the portal. Seems a win win for the power conferences and the lower level conferences???

Hiking/Backpacking thread

Hoping there are other hiking enthusiasts on the board that might be interested in sharing experiences. Hiking has become my favorite outdoor activity and I'm always up for new places to explore.

This week my girlfriend and I took a trip down to Berea, KY to hike the Berea College Forest. Some really good views in there. Lots of uphill hiking to get to those views, but all were worth it. We hiked to East Pinnacle, Buzzards Roost (there were lots of buzzards), Eagle's Nest (there were no eagles), and Indian Fort Lookout. That day we did over 22,000 steps, just short of 10 miles, and 97 floors of elevation change. Highly recommended.

Transfer portal and recruiting

I saw a post about Karter Knox, and of course there are other existing and pending High School recruits. But, does no one pay attention that the key to success now is getting a top notch experienced transfer. Kansas without Dickerson would be an entirely different and not highly rated team. Kentucky without Mitchell would have had some significant problems. The only other factor is having a great player not jump to the NBA or transfer. I hope some attention is being paid by our staff on what history is now demonstrating who may be the most important recruit of all.
