Kentucky now leads the nation in scoring at 95.3 points per game.

Fair, but Robinson can certainly provide more than catch and shoot 3s.
He has shown the ability to slash, but only against Jackson state type teams. Against duke and WKU, he was very subdued.

He's a very good defender and if he can continue to scorch the nets from the outside, he has great value to this team. That shooting ability spreads the court and allows Oweh, Butler and Carr to create off the bounce.

I'm definitely not cutting him down, I love what he brings and it's early, hopefully he adjusts to SEC physicality and rises above it.

I need an explanation. Why do CBB refs suck so much?

They sure do. Here’s Jamie Luckie instructing other refs on it in his seminar, “The Craft of Officiating” https://kentucky.forums.rivals.com/threads/jamie-luckie-and-kentucky.263353/page-2#post-6804184

When I think of how it’s common practice to do the following (according to Luckie’s own words in the video), it it cause for concern:
—mirror calls
—give the “little guy more latitude”
—believe it’s “my (the referee’s) game” A quote: “We dictate how the game is played. . . it’s not our fault they can’t shoot.”
—strategize to “hit” well-known coaches with technical fouls so the other guys will “stay out of your way”
—believe that the “only thing that matters is the last few minutes of the game”
—openly called Calipari’s behavior “not normal” (over the missed shot clock violation vs Wisconsin in 2015). Openly disparaged Coach K, as well.

When an official has no conscience about saying he’s “the difference between a 20 point win and a 40 point win” between an underdog and a blue blood, it tells you something. In the Dec 2014 game between Elon (62) vs. Duke (75) referenced in the video, it wasn’t an 18 point or 20 point win, it was actually a 13 point win. Did this “give the little guy more latitude” strategy have an impact on his officiating when UK played WVU in 2010, or Kansas State in 2018?
I didn't bring this up the other night because I'm always bitching about refs.

Giving the little guy more latitude also applies to big leads. The other night Dayton had a 21 point lead and during North Carolina's comeback there were two and ones that were both fouls on the floor, well before the shot was taken. And to make the game more competitive they counted those and North Carolina made their free throws. North Carolina goes on to wind and those two plays were really big. The continuation on those would have made the NBA blush

Would Pope ever leave?

No.

First of all, he’s older than a lot of folks seem to think he is. At 52, he’s had NBA & other real life experiences. If stays until he is 70 (which would mean health, a successful run, and staying relevant), he only has 18 years. Thats a long time for coaching at UK, but I don’t see him trying to “climb the ladder” or use UK as a springboard for an NBA job at this point.

Mitch barnhart believes stoops can quickly turn things around

Stoops has recruited better than anyone, anytime before him. Development and discipline is his issue and that is not going to change. Heck, he makes multiple pewee coaching mistakes every game. The trajectory of UK football is not going to change with him at the helm.

If I was a ref, first game out of the coaches box yelling and such, would have been a T. I would have explained to him the court is for players, his box is here, (showing the boundaries) and telling him one more violation and you will be T'd up. 2nd T he would have been ejected. Then before game2 if I had his game, I would get both coaches (not to pick on one) and tell them the coaches box rule will be adhered to for this game. Same situation. He would have been watching all 3 games from the locker room.

Would Pope ever leave?

Pope would leave only if he thought the program couldn't get the results under him. He's in the lifer category.

I don't see the NBA being a draw for him.
The NBA may very well want him soon. His offensive style is coveted in the league. What if the Utah Jazz made a run for him in a couple of years?
Another question is when does Kentucky revise his contract?
