Kentucky now leads the nation in scoring at 95.3 points per game.

The way I look at it, we don't have a best player, we have a cohesive team.
Jaxson Robinson will have his good games, but he's not an Antonio Reeves like we hoped he would be.
He's a nice piece of the puzzle, but Oweh, Butler, Brea and Carr seem to be the ones we can truly count on each game.
You just made me visualize Reeves on this team….. damn it.

Z made his bed Coach Pope tried to get him to stay and he rejected us I would rather have his brother
Pope tried to get Z to stay? I hadn't heard that.

It seemed to me like Pope wanted to move everyone out that had anything to do with the old regime. He didn't retain a single coach, or player and even took down the NBA posters in the locker room.

Heck, Orlando Antiqua tried to stay, but Pope said no.

If Pope tried to get Z, I'm very surprised he didn't stay.

POLITICAL THREAD

Politicians are the worst human beings in the world. They don't bat an eye at their own citizens being killed. I'm supposed to believe they just have such a giant heart for Ukraine when they didn't even give a shit about people from North Carolina?

These people have no issue with our food being poison cause they take money.
These people have no issue with sickness cause they take money from Big Pharma.
These people have no issue with fentanyl and heroine coming into this country.

But they care about Ukraine for no reason other than they just have giant hearts.

Well said

Would Pope ever leave?

Why do you think this is "worth asking"? Especially a few weeks into his first season?
Because of his basketball mind, the way the handles himself on the sideline. He would be a perfect candidate for the NBA he just never had a premier job to showcase himself. Until now. So that’s why I believe it’s something that could definitely happen

Didn’t see your response. If true, then good for you & more importantly good for them.

Donating money to a good cause is great but donating time is much more effective.
I used to coach basketball and track, but my wife gave birth 4 years ago and my time has come a lot more precious. She's pregnant with baby number two and we have a c section set from 12/31.

Would Pope ever leave?

The college game is 24/7 365 days a year.
We have seen what it does to coaches who stay past their shelf life.
I hope he gives us 10 great years and moves on to a less demanding job.
The year is 2035. Tyson Foods announces their new head coach, Mark Pope. Prior to calling the hogs, the new Razorback coach begins to discuss a metaphor about swine connective tissue.

Because the better bro is put in positions and plays that work with his style of play. Z in Pope’s system would likely flourish. He’d be in a similar role as Carr.
Yeah I understand you saying this but when it comes down to it Big Z just does some goofy stuff on the court like he tries to make things look more difficult than they should be. Whether that be grabbing a loose ball or trying to tip a ball back in above the rim he will try to make it look like an amazing play and it hurts his performance. I think Carr is a better basketball player because he takes his craft more seriously and has a desire to do the simple things right. I'm not sure big Z does.

Would Pope ever leave?

The NBA may very well want him soon. His offensive style is coveted in the league. What if the Utah Jazz made a run for him in a couple of years?
Another question is when does Kentucky revise his contract?

I just don't see it happening. I feel like it would go against everything he's told the fanbase since he's been hired.

If Kentucky is all about March/April like we say we are than I'm holding off on making any rash judgments after 7 games. We all like what we see it's a fun style of basketball. Ultimately the results when it matters continues to bring home the bacon.
