State of 2025 Recruiting

Blue Tornado = Wildcat Blue. Does even have to change shirts.

See how easy that is!

KSR reported that Quisenberry was at camp this summer and showed out. I think it was his second camp here if I remember correctly. I was also told by Luckett that he is a take for UK, but obviously idk if that's true.
Quisenberry is obviously a good player or else he would not have offers from MI and Ole Miss. I know he can really run. I know Coach Stoops likes to take players from BChs when possible. I didn't know but am not surprised he has been to UK camps, since Danville is close by. I'm only wondering how many slot receivers we need on our roster with obvious need for more depth at WR, OT, ILB, and S. Anthony Brown is going to be the kind of prolific player who eats up a lot of snaps, and I recently discovered David Washington profiles as another slot. Brandon White has practiced at several receiver positions but he is another small slot player once we get more depth at the outside receiver positions. Gilmore will probably play in the slot and also some Z. All these guys can run.

Tucker Kattus, Isaac Sowels, and Jaylen Mosley all UVed Saturday.

Austin Alexander was offered by ND and subsequently UVed there Sat

UK received a UV on Saturday from 2025 WR/S prospect Jaylen Mosley from Jackson, TN. His visit went well. Mosley, the #18-ranked hs football player in the state of TN in 2025, already holds at least five SEC scholarship offers.

They plan on taking 2 qbs. Saunders is on board with that also.
Evidently Wyatt Becker out of Sierra Canyon hs in Chatsworth, CA, is the second QB prospect they are evaluating for our 2025 class. Becker UVed UK in 2021 when Coach Coen was here the first time. Becker likes the city of Lexington and loves Coach Coen. Becker's QB coach Danny Hernandez is a friend of Coen's. Interestingly, Becker thinks picking an eastern school has become easier because so many Pac12 schools are moving to the B10 and possibly to the ACC as well. Becker has been quoted as saying he would rather attend an eastern school than attend a western school that flies its football team to the east coast for games. Makes some sense, and also makes me wonder how many other CA hs football players feel that way.

This is a very interesting development. This player has a really nice offer sheet that includes at least 6 SEC offers. He's a little light in the britches but very young so he has ample time to beef up. Just guessing he plays in a competitive HS league. Nice one to follow.

An interesting dynamic that i had not considered for that position group and could certainly play a roll for other athletes as well.

Given Coach Coen's connections out west, I look at the breakdown of UK's 2025 scholarship offers and note six in CA (including Becker) and one in AZ. This gives an appearance of a recruiting footprint that is continuing to expand nationally.

Evidently ND is considered the current favorite to land Alexander. Of course, there is still plenty of time ahead of his signing date in Dec. 2024.

Apparently 2025 will be a better class than 2024 in the state of OH. In particular, there are a lot of 2025 Power 5 prospects in the Cincinnati area. Coach Marrow seems to have a head start there. Here are some 2025 Cincinnati area prospects with publicly reported UK scholarship offers. Coach Marrow is primary recruiter for all of these prospects.

Sam Afari, DB, W Chester, OH
Austin Alexander, LB, Union, KY
Erik Gayle, LB, Cincinnati, OH
Luka Gilbert, TE, W Chester, OH
Rafael Greene, OL, Cincinnati, OH
Justin Hill, LB, Cincinnati, OH
Naim Jackson, DL, Cincinnati, OH
Tucker Kattus, OL, Cincinnati, OH
Paul Nelson, LB, Cincinnati, OH
Caden Plening, ATH, Cincinnati, OH
Jai'mier Scott, ATH, Cincinnati, OH
Quintin Simmons, WR, Cincinnati, OH
Tayvon Smith, ATH, Cincinnati, OH
Alai Uaisele, LB, Cincinnati, OH

Speaks well to the strategy of SEC keep their footprint relatively tight. Austin to Columbia, SC not exactly small. but small vs. LA to NYC & SF to Miami. SEC also maintaining culture ex-Sippers a bit.

It is wise to hit Cincinnati hard. UC will not dominate the Big 12, even without Texas and Oklahoma. Ohio State will not have room for most of them. All Big Ten opponents are farther NORTH, not a typical destination for fun times. All Big Ten teams are not SEC teams. All SEC schools are farther South, meaning that Cincy players have to drive passed UK to visit them. Every Cincinnati grandmother and cousin are 80 miles North of Lexington: a one-piss-stop for those passed 50, or younger than 8 years.

Edge LB Amaree Williams of N Palm Beach, FL, already holds at least eight SEC scholarship offers. Williams, the son of UK alumnus Moe Williams, is being recruited by Coach Mike. Williams' first scholarship offer came from UK, and Williams has a strong relationship with UK's coaches, especially the Stoops brothers. Do not expect Moe Williams to influence Amaree toward UK. He won't, because he wants his son to make his own decision. But Amaree's friend Hardley Gilmore will. Amaree and Hardley played Pop Warner football together and attended the same hs for one year. They are still close. So UK is in a pretty good position. That does not mean signing Amaree will be easy. It's a tough battle, and Amaree has no timetable for a decision. But we are in the thick of it and Coach Mike talks with Amaree several times a week.

Saunders is now Bishop McDevitts all time leading passer with 7.978 yds.. Not sure on his passing stats in the game he played tonight,, but he threw for 5 tds.. Now has 20 on the year and 1 pick in 5 games.. He kinda reminds me of a Devin Leary..

TOTALS: 66-101 (65.3%), 1,132 yards – 15 TD, 1 INT (QBR: 138.7) | 3 rushing TDs

Did he sell the popcorn at halftime?

Lol.

A strong start to the season.
Stone Saunders is a terrific start for our 2025 class. Who will be next? Odds are it will probably be an instate prospect or a prospect from the Cincinnati area, just based on numbers. Certainly, Tucker Kattus, Rafael Greene, and Sam Afari appear likely at this point to end up in our class if Stoops goes for it. But the entire state of OH is a goldmine for 2025 UK football recruiting, as Coach Marrow has already given out at least 52 scholarship offers in the state for our next class.

The '25 class has a lot of good OTs and we need to land two or three. Start there, add a nose tackle and we are in good shape.

Tucker Kattus, Rafael Green will here for the Florida game maybe some chips fall this weekend.

Me too. They have earned it. I believe our 2024 class will just keep getting better and better with each new commitment in the fall, when Stoops and Marrow will be careful with remaining scholarships. And with Stone Saunders already on board, our 2025 class should be very interesting as it unfolds. Looks like Coach Marrow has already piqued the interest of a bunch of very good hs players in Cincinnati. One 2025 instate prospect to watch is Martels Carter, a DB at Paducah Tillman hs who just relocated to Paducah from Rome, GA. Carter's recruitment appears to be wide open at this point. He reportedly holds at least nine SEC offers and does not necessarily have a strong link to UK other than the recent move to Paducah.
There’s a sophomore OT that transferred to Paducah Tilghman along with Carter. He’s already 6’5” and looks the part. Maybe something to keep an eye on for 2026

Probably still too early to contemplate public commitments by Tucker Kattus or Rafael Greene. With Josh already on our team, I am inclined to think Tucker will be too eventually. Maybe Greene too. But Tucker probably projects as an OG at the next level, not an OT. I'm not sure yet where Greene will rank on UK's OT board. We need OTs a lot more than we need OGs, and we need guys who will be SEC starters at some point. Our coaches have already offered scholarships to at least 12 true 2025 OTs, and I expect they will be very careful about the next OL class. And that is not a slight to Kattus or Greene. Just a reality. We have to start signing and developing successful OTs, and it has gotten urgent now. If they believe Greene is that guy, then terrific. I know for certain that Greene loves UK.

With UKs luck at OT they will both be OGs.

Two uncommitted 2025 class prospects are expected to visit UK this weekend for the UK-FL game.

Dawayne Galloway, ATH, Columbus, OH
Trennedy Whatley, ATH, Fayetteville, GA

In addition MadCat62 reported earlier on this thread that uncommitted 2025 Cincinnati OL prospects Rafael Greene and Tucker Kattus will visit this weekend. Although I cannot independently confirm that, both players have already UV'ed UK multiple times and can easily get here from Cincinnati for such an important game. Both players are believed to have UK very high on their lists. Tucker Kattus is Josh's younger brother.

Also worth noting, 2025 UK QB commit Stone Saunders broke the all time record at Bishop McDevitt hs for career passing yardage last Friday, despite being only halfway through his junior season. Saunders will also visit Lexington this weekend.

That would be a fantastic jump for 25 if they all commit IMO
UK's coaches have already offered at least 52 scholarships to 2025 class prospects inside the state of OH, including at least 15 offers to 2025 prospects in the Cincinnati/W Chester area. Apparently 2025 is a stronger class in OH, and Coach Marrow is already all over it. So I expect UK's 2025 class to end up with a lot of OH representation. In 2014, we signed eleven prospects from OH. I doubt that will ever happen again. But we only have three signees from OH in our 2023 class and so far only one commit (Terhyon Nichols) from OH in our 2024 class. Representation from OH seems likely to become significantly greater than that in our 2025 class.

We are in uncharted waters with a Blue Chip QB prospect committed 20 months before NSD.

We had a QB commit lead our recruiting efforts for 8 months prior to the February 2014 NSD (Drew Barker), but Saunders can make 20, 30, 40 unofficial trips to UK should he wish, and meet tons of potential teammates.

FWIW Saunders could also flip his hs teammate Rico Scott into our 2024 class.

But the hope is that we will have a strong 2025 OL class and sign some taller 2025 WRs.

It's too early for a solid idea about the evolution of our 2025 class before we have clues who will OV. But so far we know we are in pretty good shape with-

Sam Afari, DB, W Chester, OH
Austin Alexander, LB, Union, KY
Jamin Brown, OL, Gadsden, AL
Avelon Chenault, WR, Lexington, KY
Brock Driver, LB, Danville, KY
Rafael Greene, OL, Cincinnati, OH
Isaiah Groves, RB, Cross Plains, TN
Justin Hill, LB, Cincinnati, OH
Sandale Jackson, OL, Cleveland, OH
Tucker Kattus, OL, Cincinnati, OH
Dante McClellan, LB, Canton, OH
Stone Saunders, QB, Harrisburg, PA (UK commit)
Quinton Simmons, WR, Cincinnati, OH
Makhi Smith, ATH, Versailles, KY
Tayvon Smith, ATH, Cincinnati, OH
Alai Uaisele, ATH, Cincinnati, OH
Ameer Yasen, OL, Tallmadge, OH

I am not suggesting all of these prospects will be takes. It is way too early to know that. Some of them won't be. But if UK's coaches were to push hard for these players, we could probably sign most of them.

Looks like we could add a couple of more Smiths in keeping w the 24 motif

In addition to names I have already posted here, it is being rported today that the following 2025 prospects visited Kroger Field for the UK-FL game on Saturday-

Devin Ancrum, DL, Buford, GA
Brock Camp, DL, Columbia, MO
Brock Coffman, ATH, Lexington, KY
Drayden Pavey, OL/DL, Burlington, KY

Prior to the visit, none of the four held a UK scholarship offer. That many have changed by now, but IDK.
