State of 2025 Recruiting

In addition to names I have already posted here, it is being rported today that the following 2025 prospects visited Kroger Field for the UK-FL game on Saturday-

Devin Ancrum, DL, Buford, GA
Brock Camp, DL, Columbia, MO
Brock Coffman, ATH, Lexington, KY
Drayden Pavey, OL/DL, Burlington, KY

Prior to the visit, none of the four held a UK scholarship offer. That many have changed by now, but IDK.
Rivals shows only Pavey with offers from anybody( not UK...yet), the other three are still awaiting offers. I'd guess UK wants to get these guys into a camp next spring/summer.

Stone Saunders is a terrific start for our 2025 class. Who will be next? Odds are it will probably be an instate prospect or a prospect from the Cincinnati area, just based on numbers. Certainly, Tucker Kattus, Rafael Greene, and Sam Afari appear likely at this point to end up in our class if Stoops goes for it. But the entire state of OH is a goldmine for 2025 UK football recruiting, as Coach Marrow has already given out at least 52 scholarship offers in the state for our next class.
So there was a dude named Zell from Louisiana on Van Hiles show Monday night and he said that Saunders plays in one of the the top tier high school divisions in the country and that UK hasn’t been involved with a quarterback like him since we were recruiting Drew Brees . And TIFWIW, he said Kolaja Cobbins was not liking what he has seen from Matt House and that he was talking about Kentucky ALOT.
I asked Van if the guy was legit and he said,” yes he is a scout that knows all about high school kids, especially from his area “

To reinforce what you are saying, LSU's defense has been giving up 430 yards per game and is ranked 13th in the SEC (out of 14 teams) while UK's defense is ranked 5th in the SEC and just shut down FL. Anyone comparing the 2 defenses would come away with the conclusion that Brad White > Matt House.

BTW, Cobbins is a 2024 prospect not being recruited by UK and doesn't have a UK offer. I think our staff is done recruiting 2024 edge defenders after what will happen later today. But it's interesting that hs players across the southeast are seeing what Coach White is accomplishing.

Matt House may end up back in Blue over the next 2 seasons...? It could happen..
I think he was saying Kolaja Cobbins was talking UK a lot. He is another OLB so doubt they add another player there. Though Cobbins is a highly rated prospect (5.9 4 star 141 national) and would be hard to pass if interested. He is '24 and this a '25 thread

Yes , I was mainly talking about Saunders (25) but just wanted to mention the Cobbins thing .

Stone Saunders is a huge get for Liam Coen. The Saunders family knows Coen and the commitment seems firm. You are suggesting that Saunders is actually an underrated prospect, given the quality of the competition in his area of PA. I have been thinking that Coen zeroed in on Saunders when he could have chased Ryan Montgomery. Coen knows QB talent, and I suspect Saunders will develop into an outstanding SEC QB in Coen's system.

Yeah I got that part... I was saying Matt House could very well be jobless in the next 2 years...

And, it suggests Coen will be here a few years to coach Stone.

For different reasons, I think Coach Coen will be here for a while. He is making a whole lot of money here. It is a lot more comfortable and safer than LA and many other cities. He feels wanted, and has a very good relationship with Coach Stoops. This is a good place for his young family. And, of course, our program is on the upswing.

Dylan Lewis, DB, Alpharetta, GA

This 2025 prospect evidently announced today that his college decision is "coming soon". He already holds at least five SEC offers, plus Clemson, and recently narrowed his list to eight schools. UK is one of his eight finalists, and Coach Collins is his UK recruiter.

However, Lewis was in Knoxville last Saturday for the TN-SCar game. This at least gives an appearance that the Knoxville visit may have firmed up his recruitment by TN. However, recruiting is one of the least predictable of human behaviors.

Good relationship, did you see stoops put Coen in the hospital. I watched and saw Stoops red faced like a chipmunk on Acid up in his face (we were a head and he called for a pass ) next game in the booth. We need a coach with an pro out look with free agency , and all!!
Not sure what you are trying to say there. You believe Stoops "put Coen in the hospital"? Evidence? To my eye, Stoops protected Coen. I will just stand by what I said earlier.

Just thinking out loud now that the 24 signing day has come and gone. Will the 25 class signings happen earlier on the offensive side of the ball with Saunders already in the fold at QB? Obviously we will need to shore up the OT recruiting this year and Greene and Kattus out of OH look like primary targets there, others possibly? We signed lots of LB in 24 will we go after any else at that position group?

Although I don't expect the first 2025 commitment for a while, I will go ahead and start this new thread now. I see that we are discussing 2025 prospects on the 2024 thread, so we need a 2025 thread to accommodate the growing volume of 2025 discussions.

Here are instate 2025 prospects already reported to hold UK offers. All four are being recruited by Coach Marrow although Coach Coen has also gotten involved with Boley.

Cutter Boley, QB, LCA, Lexington
Brock Driver, RB, Boyle Co. hs, Danville
Montavin Quisenberry, ATH, Boyle Co. hs, Danville
Makhi Smith, ATH, Woodford Co. hs, Versailles

Boley is the big headliner here, although Driver is also a nice looking prospect.

Here are some 2025 out of state prospects reported to hold UK offers. This is not intended to be an all inclusive list, and I am not predicting where any of these players will actually sign two winters from now.

Jon Adair, OL, Nashville, TN
Sam Afari, DB, W. Chester, OH (Alex's brother)
John Baker, WR, Detroit, MI
Wyatt Becker, QB, Chatsworth, CA
Preston Bowman, WR, Pickerington, OH
Kole Briehler, DL, Princeton, NJ
Kelan Butler, LB, Jefferson, GA
Brandon Caesar, DL, Cleveland, OH
Marquise Davis, RB, Cleveland, OH
Alonzo Esparza, QB, Chatsworth, CA
Jakaleb Faulk, LB, Highland Home, AL
Zy'Aire Fletcher, LB, Springfield, OH
Noah Francis, DB, Bradenton, FL
Ryan Ghea, TE, Alpharetta, GA
Luka Gilbert, LB/TE, W. Chester, OH
Chauncey Gooden, OL, Nashville, TN
Bowen Gossett, OL, Ironton, OH
Tarrion Grant, DB, Murfreesboro, TN
Rafael Greene, OL, Cincinnati, OH
Caleb Harris, OL, Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Jackson Heims, LB, Springfield, OH
Justin Hill, LB, Cincinnati, OH
Eugene Hilton, WR, Zionsville, IN
Bo Jackson, ATH, Cleveland, OH
Naim Jackson, DL, Cincinnati, OH
Sandale Jackson, OL, Cleveland, OH
Napoleon Jemison, LB, Toledo, OH
CJ Jimcoily, ATH, Nashville, TN
Zion Johnson, RB, Covington, GA
Peyton Joseph, OL, Ft. Valley, GA
Tucker Kattus, OL, Cincinnati, OH (Josh's brother)
Robert Lee, DB, Kissimmee, FL
Shiren Mabry, ATH, Columbus, OH
Ezekiel Marcelin, DB, Miami, FL
Dante McClellan, ATH, Canton, OH
London Merritt, LB, Atlanta, GA
Ryan Montgomery, QB, Findlay, OH
Kamauryn Morgan, DL, Red Oak, TX
Paul Nelson, LB, Cincinnati, OH
Eli Owens, LB, Alcoa, TN
Emile Picarella, QB, Madison, MS
Caden Piening, LB, Cincinnati, OH
Quincy Porter, ATH, Oradell, NJ
Ethan Pritchard, LB, Sanford, FL
Kendarius Reddick, ATH, Thomasville, GA
Martin Rhyne, LB, Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Anthony Sacca, LB, Philadelphia, PA
Stone Saunders, QB, Harrisburg, PA
Cashus Shivers, ATH, Detroit, MI
Stephon Shivers, DL, Humboldt, TN
Quinton Simmons, WR, Cincinnati, OH
Kaylib Singleton, DB, Orange Park, FL
Kahlil Stewart, OL/DL, Philadelphia, PA
Taevion Swint, RB, Kissimmee, FL
Michael Taylor, RB, Pickerington, OH
Soloman Thomas, OL, Jacksonville, FL
Ethan Utley, DL, Nashville, TN
Amari Wallace, DB, Miami, FL
Tavion Wallace, DB, Jesup, GA
AC Walters, RB, Montgomery, AL
Brennan Ward, QB, Columbus, OH
Jackson Wiley, ATH, Lewis Center, OH
Amaree Williams, LB, Palm Beach, FL
Emaree Winston, TE, Calhoun, GA
Dylon Worthen, LB, Bradenton, FL
Ameer Yasin, OL, Tallmadge, OH

Let's not worry yet about whether 2025 will be a strong or weak instate recruiting class. We are nearly two full years away from the 2025 signing dates, so it is just too early to pass judgment.

But as a side note, take a good look at the number of prospects coming out of the Cincinnati area (including W. Chester) on this list. It is not difficult to see why Coach Marrow spends more time recruiting in Cincinnati than in Louisville.

No secret that Liam Cohen will be looking at QBs for this class. So, no coincidence that a lot of QBs are on the above list. Cutter Boley is the local favorite, and Coach Coen will probably make a big run at him. But if you are looking for an out of state QB with major cred who is already showing strong interest in UK, look no farther than Ryan Montgomery out of Findlay, OH. The gossip is that Montgomery and Coen have hit it off. I guess we will see.
You already have 1 commitment Stone Sanders

Keep Stone Saunders, wrap about 20 more around him, and we roll!!
I really hope the 2024 edition of our Football Cats will exceed all expectations. With Stone Saunders committed, hopefully Stoops and staff can really make some hay with the 2025 recruiting class.

Really excited to follow Stone's development the next 12 months. Hope he crushes the Elite 11 competitions and put down a claim as 1 of the best 2025 QBs.

BTTT...lets update the list...Rembrandt? Maroon?

I am not aware of any significant news right now about our 2025 class, other than the well known fact that Amaree Williams has reclassified forward to 2024 and probably won't be coming to UK. But once we get beyond the bowl season, our coaching staff will have more time to work on the next class.

Thanks Rembrandt. Of course, Amaree was a long shot from the beginning, as I understand it. I was more interested in the status of the "true" 2025 class...and the double whammy of Brohm and NIL...at any rate, a very Merry Christmas to you and a happy any joyous new year! Go Kats!

Not sure what Jeff Brohm has to do with our 2025 class. Nothing would be my guess.

Happy Holidays to you and everyone here, whether it is Christmas, Hanukkah, or another celebration. And good fortune to Coach Stoops and our Wildcats in Jacksonville.

UK's GOT to get recruiters back in the mid-TN area. A top '25 OL has cut his list to 10....and no UK. A top '25 DL has cut his list to 5....and no UK. Both are from Nashville. Woodward was primary in mid-TN prior to his firing, wondering if anybody from UK is there now? Proximity of mid-TN to UK should show this is a clear, vital area for UK to recruit.

Woodward was not an effective recruiter for us. That's one big reason he was fired.

I will argue our recruiting traction in the Nashville area is better than it was prior to Stoops and at least as good as when Woodward was recruiting. It can always get better. I will also argue the Cincinnati area is more vital for us than the Nashville area although both are important. I'm sure Coach Stoops considers Nashville important. I don't think it can be accurately measured by two Nashville hs players. Our coordinators Marrow, White, and Coen recruit the Nashville area.

Cincy will always be important but mid-TN area, Nashville and surrounding counties, are expected to add 100K/year for the next 10 years according to one recent study....that's a million people, bound to be some football players mixed in there. Both areas are very important to UK's future. Recruit both cities, don't have to pit one against the other.

I did not "pit one against the other". Where did you get that? I said both recruiting areas are important. I have never argued against recruiting in Nashville, and never will.

The fact remains that we are a lot more effective recruiting Cincinnati than Nashville, but that is obviously not for lack of effort. It is easy to understand why Coach Stoops pours a lot of recruiting resources into Cincinnati, but that has not kept him out of Nashville, St. Louis, and Atlanta, and I'm sure it won't.

And you are certainly correct about the monstrous growth in the Nashville area. That applies to the south in general. A mass migration is underway in the US, from north to south, and from southwest to southeast. That helps us, but it will also help the entire SEC east and much of the west.

True, Cincy has been more productive for UK. I'm just saying UK needs to step it up in mid-TN, did for awhile but Woodward's failure has put a chink in that armor. Hopefully somebody catches fire there.

Across the board, Woodward was an ineffective recruiter for us. He is from the northwest, which only partially helps to explain why he was not effective in Nashville. We signed Shamar Porter but I doubt we woud have gotten him without Liam Coen being involved in his recruitment. Of course, we will never know that for sure. We don't have a staff member from TN, but Vince Marrow and Brad White have spent time recruiting in TN. I think it's possible Coach Mike could also help us in Nashville.

Meanwhile, we are lined up to sign a bunch of good players out of Cincinnati in our 2025 class.

The kid listed from Thomasville Ga played on what may have been the best team in Ga this past year and only a 6A school. I don't remember him in particular but every skill position kid they had on both sides were all lean and fast. And was made up of mostly Jr and Soph. Both lines were huge too. will be alot of kids of that team sign major college scholarships over the next 3 years, wouldn't surprise me to see a total of 30+.

Quisenberry is smaller than Jordan Anthony. Has two SEC offers. Six Power 5 offers including UL, VA Tech, and WV. We have a very similar player in Brandon White now. I won't prejudge his college career because I don't have that capability. But wouldn't call him a "huge" priority at this point. JMO. Not saying he is or isn't a take. The question of taking tiny players gets controversial here sometimes, but the performance record for tiny players on the field in SEC play in recent years tells a narrative. Of course, Craig Yeast was fantastic, but that was a different time, long time ago.
