Russia - Ukraine WAR Warning: Political Discussions

we are in a war with Russia. Call it Cold War now but Russia is wanting to go full blown. They think their culture is being taken by the west for whatever your opinion is about it. It doesn’t matter. Putin, Russia , whoever is in charge there in the future man if they feel threatened and it’s growing daily they’re gonna nuke something. I’m convinced

Ignorant posting as usual. Just because someone does not agree with the reporting does not mean they want Russia to win. It is post like this that makes people disagree with you going forward because we know you will only post moronic drivel like this.
Just asking. I honestly was curious bc we read news reports, but the usual suspects don’t believe them. If I wrote someone off based on their posts, I would be just another hack. I’m genuinely interested to find out why people think the way they think.

Wow, seriously? Have you been hiding under a rock for the last 10 or 20 years? Give me a news outlet you think prints the truth these days. I am sure there may be a couple out there (new up and coming ones to be determined) but the mainstream medias have heavy biases driven by politically and socially motivated agendas.

Can't answer for Warrior, but for me, it's personal experience. I was in the military and also worked for the gov as a civilian for 12 years. I've seen and been a part of things, gov said didn't exist or some misleading version of that. Media is no better. The old walk a mile in my shoes thing.

Reading through this thread confirms that most posters know as much about politics, war, financial markets, etc., as they do about basketball. :p

If anyone really wants to know the history of the propaganda press, read Mark Levin's "Unfreedom of the press." These people have been liars ever since the Revolutionary War. It is also quite interesting to see which American publications were pretty cozy with printing Nazi Germany propaganda (Looking at you, Associated Press).

They have always been weaponized in the information war. The power of political office has the same appeal to those who pursue political journalism. They believe they are smarter than you and their egos are ginormous. There's an abundance of quotes of journalists from the past who essentially believe that the public does not have the ability to decipher what is important so it's up to them to tell them.

I.E. carpet bombing did not happen in the Gulf. Yeah right, those who were there will tell you otherwise. There were about 30 straight nights where carpet bombing happened (heard the rumbling every night for about 30 days) much to the relief of us who were going to fight the ground war. It made the situation of an earlier post of mine happen (surrendering Iraqi soldiers). It took the fight out of a large portion of their army.

Did not read your post because of avatar (distracted) so, don't type anything just post nm a few times a day to break up the monotony and you will be adding something positive to this thread. TIA.

As Rush used to say about journalism majors in college, how they would say they wanted to make a difference...change the world...not reporting the actual news.

Maybe so but I know what a woman is and the picture in your avatar is that of a real woman. The rest of the things on your list can be debated but not your avatar. It is real and has been settled for thousands of years

Maybe others knew this or stated it here, & I suspected such, but haven't seen it in writing personally till now:

"....since 2014, with Green Berets and members of the Army's National Guard advising and training Ukrainian forces at Yavoriv Combat Training Center in western Ukraine."

So are they there now also?

I don't have this problem with my 12 gallons tank:

"With gas prices in the United States the highest they've been in 14 years, drivers are facing a new kind of pain at the pump: fueling limits that may deny them a full tank.

Because credit card companies refuse to reimburse station owners for fraud or disputed charges above the $75 threshold, many pumps limit transactions to $75. That used to be more than enough for a fill-up — but not these days."

99% chance US Special Forces have boots in country on the ground, I'd wager.

It is interesting that right now indisputably Russia and Putin are blatantly lying to their own people and making up ludicrous lies while desperately trying to block their own citizens from the truth of why they are in Ukraine and what the results of the war actually are. Ditto for China hiding the truth from their own people.

Yet in here for a disturbing number of posters, the focus is on attacking Ukraine and also our own free press as biased when they have a blatant example at their fingertips being played out in real time?

I can't imagine a starker contrast. The complete total loss of self-awareness. Rationalizing has become more than an art form, it has transcended reality. People are creating their own reality and are vigorously attacking anything that tries to lift the sheets up and give them a peek, while simultaneously casting themselves are the arbiters of truth?

You simply cannot equate our free press, warts and all, to Russia and China. Digest that, maybe.

You're the only one equating the two. The blame for people not trusting our media falls directly at the feet of the media. They have openly lied to the American people over the last several years, if they want our trust back it's simple, report the truth. At this point every story reported should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

And of course while taking said news with a huge grain of salt simultaneously embrace every nutty conspiracy theory on earth no matter how ludicrous. Gotcha.

It's freedom from reality. Just make up whatever you want to believe then say that is true because our news media biased.

Meanwhile you have a glaring example across the pond of what real propaganda looks like, but it is more important to point out the flaws you see in us rather than the enemy we are in a proxy war with, and that we're surging troops into Europe to defend against.

Better focus on our flaws as that's why you're such great Patriots. Attack your own country. Attack your own coach. Attack your own press. Throw in some spicy Russian propaganda while you're at it. Sounds like the ingredients for treason to me but hey, I'm old fashioned. I root for my country and I root for my team instead of obsessing in the flaws I see in them.

I don't go passed 1/2 a tank before filling up but, if prices get any higher that 25 gallon tank maybe filled up at 3/4th a tank if that happens here.

Or just allow differing views and your panties won't wad up in to your vagina.

Apparently, you have been secluded for the last 20 or more years or you are as disingenuous as you post. We need to worry about the propaganda that is spread here or we will lose our own country in the not too distant future. If you feel so driven go to Ukraine and help. Me and some others will stay here and try to fix the wrongs in our own country.

Where have I defended propaganda "from across the pond"? Again, billions of dollars are going to be, and have been sent to Ukraine, that directly affects all of us. You think it's just a coincidence the Clinton Foundation just fired back up?

It's treasonous to think our media is FOS after they've lied to us for years, as well as during the Ukraine war?

Russia invading Ukraine is bad, Ukraine sacrificing their own citizens is bad, the West doing absolutely nothing to prevent the invasion is bad, the coming corruption in Ukraine is bad, and the only ones suffering are the citizens of Ukraine, they're the only loser in this.

We are giving 1billion to Ukraine for “humanitarian” efforts, AND taking 100k refugees (to START).

Why in the hell are we giving Ukraine billions. We give them more billions every week.

What are European countries giving Ukraine?

This bs is Washington’s dream come true. Couldn’t come at a better time.

I assume R & C press are 100% liars. My experience tells me our press is somewhere around 50% liars. So I'm not going to whole hog believe what our press or our government says.

I often go till the low fuel light goes on. I've figured out I've got at least 40 miles left.

I am wondering if Russia is strategically falling back because they are going to use chemical weapons on a couple of those cities? I hope that is not the case.

This is why the language by NATO and the US has IMO been too soft on Russia. By Putin's own playbook this is where Russia uses the CW card and I cringe like when I hear NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg say basically we're only going to defend NATO territory and we do not want to be drawn into a war with Russia. You can think that privately, but your public communications has to be stronger. Putin has been appeased for too long and we may be about to see the ultimate result of that.

Putin is a dead man if things don't turn around dramatically and soon so he must at least try some sort of reset. Nothing is beyond him at this point. We'd better be prepared to fight and make it clear we are ready to fight and all the nuclear/chemical bluffs on earth aren't going to change that.

Putin knows right now all around him in is inner circle are people that would kill him if the opportunity arises because of the horrendous failure of this hairbrained attack, so Putin understands he only has so much time left and his options are very limited in surviving this.
