Bad thing is that Putin had his top 2 critics arrested shortly after the invasion. He already arrested a few others and a couple spent years in jail and are recently free. It would be hard to expect those people to be really outspoken. Its going to have to be grass roots. They need a large majority of citizens to show up in opposition so the police on the street are afraid to enforce the draconian laws.

Negotiating and having meetings with world leaders is not kissing ass. It's called diplomacy. You have to see actual examples where our president helped them while hurting us i.e. 2010 when Obama, Biden, and Hillary sold 20% of America's uranium to Russia and in 2014 they allowed Russia to annex Crimea. When Biden came into power he stopped the XL Pipeline but gave the go ahead for Russia to build theirs. Works and deeds have shown who has been kissing Russia's ass. Putin just stabbed his ass kissers in the back though.

All I know is, I was paying $2.89 for gas a month ago. About the same as I was paying before Covid hit. Since the invasion gas prices have gone insane. I didn’t blame Trump when gas prices soared his first two years and I don’t blame Biden now. I will never believe a president controls gas prices.

Policies (EO's) can as well as "assumed" policies (Green New Deal) affect prices. Markets and some prices (yes gouging too) are affected by political posturing and possible outcomes.
Edited: I was paying $1.79 for gas until after Biden took office and signed his EO's and started pushing his agenda. within the year it went up to $2.89 as well. Presidents with their party in charge have a big impact on the economy and prices/inflation.

We actually have 50 things that have happened to affect gas prices and if you just ignore the 47 that Biden did then we can't have an intelligent conversation. He didn't just shut down 2 future pipelines. He shut down 2 current pipelines and let the enviros get back in control of the enforcement part of oil production.
The reason cost are up is because producers immediately had extra cost on every well. Then they had to worry that any new well would be shut down before it came on line. So when Psaki said they could produce more if they wanted to... yea.... but you could screw the hell out of them to and they aren't investing MILLLIONS under those conditions.

I have a feeling that if zelensky can turn it he will go for Crimea. NATO needs to be careful about putting too much into their hands you never know zelensky that guy with a powerful military non nato entity give them only Russian made.

I see two very big problems with that. Putin cannot afford to walk away with just a sliver of Ukraine in exchange for what they have already lost. If he does, then only a matter of time before he is overthrown. If he doesn't, I see no way out of this for Russia except to off Putin and claim it was all on him. That is the fastest and easiest way for them to recoup their loses, get out of sanctions for the most part, and start working on the corruption that obviously has gutted their military readiness. That is also how Russia has historically conducted business. Just like the mob. Once you make a mistake like this, expect the bullet behind the ear because they don't offer retirement plans. How long will it take the titanic financial losses to get somebody close enough to Putin or will they just finally be bold enough to walk right in and arrest him?
Second, Ukraine has already been burned badly by the Budapest Memorandum giving up their nukes in exchange for phony security agreements. I doubt they have the appetite for that again.
