You're right, everyone isn't going to die and this is straight fear porn. But, China's is severely under reporting numbers, censoring truth, and taking extreme measures to stop the spread. The US as of a few days ago was barely testing for the virus, so our numbers are ****ed as well.
So, if the media is freaking out about the current numbers and starting a panic, take a walk down that road for a minute . . . once we get more trustworthy numbers out of the Italys and South Koreas of the world, is the media going to freak out more or less? Is Chinese manufacturing going to seem more or less behind schedule? Is there going to be more or less shit on the grocery shelves? Sure don't sell your house and move to a bunker, but making sure you have some food and water isn't retarded. The MSM watching plebs will collectively lose their shit after a few days of serious fear porn, and the grocery will be stupid.

I can see the great distinction from things that happened 70-80 years ago (Like this pic) in part of the world and things that happened after our invasion of southeast Asia and countries in Nordic Europe as well as other countries. Whoever touched on the “thanks, globalists!” is spot on. Not concerned about the virus in the slightest but supply chains are effed to Mars thanks to China shuttering their plants.
Part of one my companies distributes disposable safety supplies ie gloves/hairnets/shoe covers etc including facemasks to industrial, manufacturing, food manufacturing (not medical) sectors. 95% of that crap is made in CHJINA. All shut down. I’m on allocation at the moment so my manufacturer isn’t out but it’s coming....no slow boats enroute. Face masks freaking disappeared a few weeks ago, govt snapped them up.
Anyways, if they don’t open soon it’s going to be a total shit show here in food manufacturing....color coded disposable safety PPE to keep from cross contamination and pass govt inspections/audits would go out the window.....there’s just no way to get US ppe production up and running that quick and the $$$ sheewwwweeeeee.
