Nobody is saying that, All I'm saying ( if your replying to me ) IMO people use religion (churches and so on) for their own personal gain...What a gig, ya show up to this big building every Sunday or whenever, preach what the people want to hear, collect a ton of tax free money, and they pay for you and your expenses to live high on the hog..Again, what a gig

I not trying to pick a fight, but everyone paid a salary by your church is paying taxes on their compensation. They have a housing allowance that I don't have and they're sol on social security like public school teachers.

The church as a whole doesn't pay taxes on your donation, just like when you donate to your kids sports teams or band.

I agree, they don't pay shit, and I see what your saying, the preacher or any employee is paid a salary that is taxable, but his living expenses and anything pertaining to his job is a write off including his salary for the church

I agree with you P.

Perhaps I worded it poorly.

Religion as an entity doesn’t suck. Well, Islam sucks. Christianity, for all its faults, has been a generally positive influence. Some people take advantage of things. I shouldn’t lump all religion in with that group.

same here..not trying to stir the pot, just stating instances that I think is not right...

New form for the lefties...AOC and Maxine want to hear from ya..

Again, what a gig

My god, what churches did y'all go to?

Which neighborhood got shot up with bullets?

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDKY) — Police are investigating after a Lexington home was hit several times in a shooting early Sunday morning.

It happened around 1 a.m. on Shelby Avenue. Thankfully no one was hurt, but neighbors are expressing concern, saying it's been targeted repeatedly.

"The street's being terrorized,” said Tim Frazier, who lives nearby. “The people that live here are terrorized. It's just an intolerable situation."

Police said they're still investigating the latest situation, when someone apparently emptied a number of rounds into the home.

"It just was one, loud, repetitive, boom-boom-boom-boom-boom-boom-boom, and it just went on, you know," said Frazier.

Neighbors said this is the third time this has happened over the course of about six months. The home is empty, but it's all happening enough to make some neighbors scared to sleep here.

"We just wanted to get down on the ground and hope we didn't get caught in the crossfire," he said. "It was just a matter of keeping ourselves safe."

Frazier said he packed up his family and spent the rest of the night somewhere else. He wants something done to stop it.

"When you have bullets flying through your neighborhood continually, it's like being in a war zone," he said.

The religion of peace at it again:

"A leading academic and cleric from World Cup host country Qatar has filmed a shocking guide on how Muslim men should beat their wives.

The vile video features Abd Al-Aziz Al-Khazraj demonstrating how to "punish" a woman in accordance with Islamic law."

It's best USA didn't qualify for WC.

Yeah I’m lazy with typos and punctuation, but I do mean you can’t really criticize a religion for corruption as that’s not reflective of the proper practice of the religion or even interpretation of it.

If you aren't doing what the first-century Christians/Christian congregation was doing then you aren't.

If you would die for it like they did then you are

That video embedded in your post is worth the time to watch. He clearly thinks he's pc for them.

"Even though the Koran teaches to beat your wives, it really means just to shake them a little bit."

That is a moderate.

Yes many did, but there's more to it than that.

What did they actually believe, what did they actually practice. A great apostasy was foretold after the death of Jesus and the deaths of the apostles. That great apostasy is the foundation of modern day Christendom...and it doesn't look much like the first century Christian congregation.

How many Christians today can tell you what the only event Jesus commanded his followers to observe is? Or where that one commandment is found in the Bible? How many of them even care? How many of them care what Jesus' viewpoint would be on Easter (Ishtar)? Or Christmas?

Because if it makes them uncomfortable the answer is not many.
