Hillary will be in office for 8 years. I highly doubt a Republican will ever win office again if they don't take this one. The Dems will give citizenship to every third world rat imaginable to stay in power from here on out.

Second, we have to drop the social issues. The left only runs on GD social issues. That and they promise free shit constantly. So no more Ted Cruz' and talks about abortion or gays. No more. We have to wake up and stop getting played.

They use that to play "gotcha politics"

hillary is not getting Obama's turnout and she is not getting bernie's supporters either.
First off, she doesn't have to have either of those things to win. Secondly, we don't know that neither will happen. The GOP just nominated the candidate who is most likely to fire up both of those turnout machines.

That being said:
(1) POTUS has been on the sidelines
(2) Warren has been on the sidelines

The complexion of this race will change once those two factors shift. Nominating Trump simply increases the likelihood that both of them go full court press for the Democratic nominee.

Hillary doesn't need to be a good campaigner if she has Bill, Obama, and Warren on the trail for her. Plus, we don't even know who she's going to take as a Veep. While she could certainly pick a milquetoast person like Sherrod Brown, she could also pick a dynamic character that could increase Democratic turnout.

tl;dr -- GOP just nominated the guy that will mitigate Hillary's liabilities as far as turnout goes.

i don't disagree with you Jamo. most ppl on here are much more politically polished than myself, i just enjoy reading this thread during presidential cycles. that being said, i just can't stand to think we are getting hillary. at 37 years old, i am tired of having the same Bush/Clinton machine in the white house in some form or fashion my entire life. Bernie is a likeable candidate, but i be damned to see this country go down the big government socialist path that we turned away from and were supposed to be the opposite of. instead we are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past like all empires that have fallen it seems. also as someone who has spent his entire adult life working in manufacturing, Trump is the first major candidate to trash NAFTA in a huge way along with the trade deals that have crippled the working middle class. it is refreshing to see someone speak for those of us who have seen so many jobs disappear to mexico. i have never liked Donald Trump btw. never. but i will vote for him.

blaming the media is a bit cliche, but I think what's happened actually is their fault (for once)

despite the electoral map, this was still a winnable election for the GOP (particularly once Biden said he wouldn't run). However, the media enabled Trump to suck all the oxygen out of the room and suffocate plenty of qualified candidates one by one. When Scott ****ing Walker drops out in September, you know things are bad.

Some will blame Priebus. Some will blame Jeb's! antics on the fundraising circuit. Some will blame Boehner's guild.

However, I personally think most of the blame belongs with (1) the cable media outlets who gave him billions of dollars in free airtime, and (2) the Hannity/Limbaugh crowd who not only waited too long to push back against Trump, but actively enabled him along the way.

You can throw out past elections results.

Many working class people that have ALWAYS voted democrat in the past will vote Trump, because he's speaking to them when he mentions jobs that have and will leave.

Look at the results in the rust belt, and most states that have voted already. The Republican field is out pacing the Democratic field in votes. I know that's not the same as a general election, but it's an indicator.

Lastly Hillary is awful, she is phony as hell and everyone knows it. She will say and do whatever is popular at the time, people are sick of it.
For the better part of 20 years she has done and said whatever she thought would put her in the White House. By either changing position with each new poll, or by putting a GD server in her house for email while acting as Sec of State to circumvent the law.
Her obsession for power scares me far worse than Trump.

like it or not, Trump has beaten unprecedented odds to win this nomination. Hillary can't put away Bernie. Jamo continues to point out polls and Trump continues to beat the odds. Polls said Conway was 9 points ahead of Bevin the damn day before the election. Many or most on here said 8 years ago that no way Obama could win, no matter what because well ya know. Hillary has little passionate support. yea the turnout may be smaller this time around but Trump's supporters are going to turn out in droves. Working class voters will vote for Trump in huge numbers like Z pointed out, NAFTA. the demographics will not work in Hillary's favor no where near the way and with the numbers like it did for Obama. African Americans aren't going to show up even close to what they did for Obama for her. and if Trump picks Carson as a running mate, then what? women, many of which don't like Hillary aren't going to show up for her like they did Obama either. this thing is going be interesting like nothing we have seen for sure.
I can't imagine a less qualified ticket than a trump/carson ticket. If it came close to winning it would be nothing more than an indictment of how ass awful the modern republican voter is. I don't know if we need a new party, but the gop folding and paving the way for something competent in its place so I don't have to keep voting obscure candidates would be nice.

So someone succinctly tell me again why Hillary will so easily & convincingly dispatch Trump in the general when she demonstratively cannot and has not Bernie?
Our votes don't count? She is already the presumptive winner, liberals have already made sure of that or, so they think or have been told so by the liberal media.

Also, Trump's unfavorability ratings are absurdly high among the demographics that are most crucial for him to win (Latinos and suburban white women). Hillary's are high among demographics that either she was never gonna win in the first place (evangelicals) or those who aren't gonna flip to the GOP regardless (Sanders/Warren constituency)
Gee... I wonder why his ratings are unfavorable for a couple of groups he manages to ostracize every single ****ing time he opens his mouth..................

some of those groups need to be ostracized. it is about time we started hurting people's feelings again. we didn't get to where we were as a nation by being nice.
Maybe old codgy ass, racist, mysoginistic, curmudgeons need to be ostracized. Ever think about that?

Yeah, they (the old codgy ass curmudgeons) have been the backbone and reason we are a strong nation but, those new fangled PC thinned skinned entitlement minded squirts have put us on the right path to making things better.

Really? Because I seem to remember that it was when this country started standing up to their oppressive agendas that we became great. Or do you want to go back to when there was slavery or when everyone that didn't own property lived in a one room tenement or died trying to get to the west coast because most of the opportunities back east were shit? Is that what you reminisce back to?

Brainwashing must be comforting.

So per jamo every poll and stat shows there is 0% chance Trump can win.

Again got it! Thanks!

I agreed to take your bet, please you name what you want to win and I'll take a limit of 1 political post a day while Trump is president and every one has to end with:

I'm the idiot that said 0% chance this could be our president.

In all honesty they have been for 8 years and they are now fighting back at the right time. Have you not noticed?

Yeah, the usual liberal response, slavery the race card. Never mentioned slavery. I don't think any of the current curmugeons were alive during that time frame. That is the usual weak ass approach from those who have no other point to use because they can't think of anything else.

that is not what warrior meant and you know that crazyq. and everything is not always about race. when i read warrior's response i was picturing Patton, Eisenhower, or any WWII vet for that matter. you brought up slavery etc. so who is the racist? Trump supporters get labeled as such but it seems ppl like you are the ones doing all the yelling . why so angry man. just a message board, we are all effed anyway.

I just wonder the exodus rate from this country a lot of people make. All the hate for Trump has to equal people going somewhere else right?

No, he has been blinded by the liberal media.

As someone who spent a decade in various forms of media, I gotta add the counterpoint of the "conservative" media is just as bad or worse because of its reporting style, but you might not see it because you're buying what they're selling.

Basically, leftist media uses emotional appeals in its reporting because libs like to feel warm and fuzzy, while righties use half-truth fear-mongering because conservatives tend to be more attentive when they're scared and/or angry.

(I've had liberal bosses and conservative ones. Each had their positives and negatives)

This isn't intended to be a personal knock on you. As someone who worked in the business, I just get annoyed by the "_________ media" stuff when people of the opposite slant don't recognize their people do it too, just differently (Slanting coverage to fit a specific ideology by using reporting methods that resonate with the base. Both "sides" are unethical if going by the tenets of responsible journalism, which is to report news accurately and fairly while presenting both sides of an issue as equally as possible.)

Less than 1 percent. Nobody's going anywhere.

Every redneck I knew pledged to leave the USA if Obama was re-elected. They're still here living the same life as they were pre-Obama, during Obama and soon-to-be post-Obama. Some folks just get butthurt when they realize everyone doesn't see the world like they do.

I doubt it, because they said the same thing when Bush was elected, and very few, if any, followed up on the threat to leave. What puzzles me is how all of these liberals would always threaten to move to Canada or Europe, but never Africa. What, isn't Africa just as good? What a bunch of racists!

uh, no. I never said 0%. I've just been saying (for weeks) that there's no data to support the conclusion that Trump even makes this a coin flip.

$200 straight-up work for you?

Trump beats Hillary head-to-head on election day, you get $200.
Hillary beats Trump head-to-head on election day, I get $200.

If either is indicted, drops out, or assassinated, bet is off.

Fair?

I'd leave in arrested and assassinated because that is a possibility going in, but dropping out? Neither of these two are dropping out.

If he is assassinated I'd still pay $200, so if she is arrested you pay $200 and it's a deal.

Also why not keep it fun like I mentioned? Money is fine and usually scares people away, but I gambol so it's no worries to me.

I'd be fine with you having to share your love everyday with my quote ending your every post every day!

I believe Trump wins rather easily, BTW. (They're the same candidate and they've ran in the same circles for years.) We get to choose between a liberal Republican or a conservative-ish Democrat.

The groups Hillary needs to turn out (young, black, Hispanic, non-GOP females) won't, and older, white conservatives always show up.

I'm probably voting for Gary Johnson just to say I didn't participate in the shit show.

You're the one that brought up how awesome it was before people started challenging the aristocratic agenda. And funny how you don't comment on my example of poor tenement residents and transcontinental settlers. Just the examplenof slavery. You blowhards just latch onto the one thing your feeble minds can attack. Lowest common denominators. Sad, really.

nah, the debates ITT haven't been about assassinations and arrests. They've been about the data (or lack thereof)

Awful take. If you think women and hispanics aren't going to turn out and try kick mud in Trump's face, you're crazy. By the time he's done running his mouth, he'll have women and minorities frothing at the mouth trying for a second pass through the booth.

Who cares man? You really need those stips in place? So you are clearly worried that she is going to get arrested with Obama in office?

Give me a break!

But themed is says with the disapproval ratings on these two that this will be the lowest voter turnout ever!!!!

Listen to them they know everything!

take the bet or leave it. im not gonna argue about whether we should take bets on a touching assassination.

you're even dumber than warrior cat

sort of like trump and the nitwits who support him

and you take this shit too serious. did i hurt your feelings too. i'm sry. i will get my agent to write a nice message apologizing on my social media on your behalf. we can go on the View together so i can be publicly scolded for infringing on your feelings and all will be well in the world again.

So Trump cleared out a Battle Royale of 16 other competitors featuring hugely sucessful multi term governors along with tea party darling senators and was the last one standing....yet Hillary at the beginning of May was still losing to a Vermont Socialist

sanders would f--king crush trump

his redneck constituency hasn't grown

he's going to be destroyed by a shit candidate

clinton represents the status quo at its most venal, cynical and corrupt

trump represents something even worse

you're out of your depth here

I'll bet $200 on trump winning. I don't care if it's that Hiliary is arrested or not. I also don't care if Hiliary wins because some nutjob shoots trump.

$200 to the winner no matter what, or hide behind your stipulations.
