I'm s sucker for ranting fonts -- always have been
plus - it's light satire --- and that's always good before lunch

AND your name is "screw Duke" -- so --- that's just pleasant to LOOK AT

admittedly - they're not my most disliked team -- but they're always making a push with their snarky allies in the media

Paul Ryan deserves tons of heat, but gets basically none by the msm. This president had a clear mandate from the convincing win. Yet very little to show for it in terms of significant legislation. That's on Ryan.

The msm won't dare criticize him because they love him. They love him because he's ineffective.

He needs to be gone. Yesterday
"Convincing win"?
Since when is 46% a mandate? Doesn't that mean that 54% voted against him?
The EC may be the way we elect Presidents, but it does not guarantee that the winner has any sort of mandate.

Ryan was elected by a clear majority unlike Trump.

Why don't you guys all come over for Miller High Life's -- and maybe some crackers and what not

I can play my records for you and show you a copperhead that I've trained!

Otherwise -- we can just agree to try and get up at a UK game to be named later

My man DA sent a nice note on Linked IN as well -- he's not such a bad guy
Eastern Kentuckian though -- and you know how THEY are

CHEERS!

Is this a trap? What do you mean "trained copperhead"? Ritz crackers? I like Ritz.

America needs more populist candidates to run. It would be easy to weed them out in the election. Just ask how they feel about term limits and Free Trade. Establishment figures will never go for term limits and they love free trade.

LOL goodness gracious.

Yep, we should go by what a majority of Wisconsin people think, not a Presidential election and trends in federal and state legislative elections.

Makes perfect sense.

Has the rally in Pikeville April 29th been talked about yet?

based on the lack of responses I'll take it as a "no"

may turn out to be nothing, but it has the potential to be national news

The contrarians: They didn’t vote for Trump, but they would now.

.....For Matt Green, a self-described libertarian in Dallas who didn’t vote at all, because he “disliked everyone” (including the Libertarian candidate), it was both the press coverage and the constant protests that changed his mind.

“The media and the left kept calling those who voted for Trump ‘racist’ and ‘misogynistic,’” he said. “I know the people who voted for him are good people. They cast their votes because they were pro-life, or pro-Second Amendment, but not because they had malice in their hearts toward immigrants. I know these people, and if I have to take sides I’m going to side with the people who I know
.”....

Extreme Dem negativity is having an effect out there.

White working families have been abandoned by the democrat party. They made that official a couple years ago.

Blacks and Latinos concerned with their own interests = Totally okay.

Whites concerned with their interests = Racist

Eff the left.

I don't know anything about the Working Nationalist Party so I don't have any interest in commenting on them as a group.

but I despise Antifa, and I wouldn't lose too much sleep if a few of them got their eyes opened (or swelled shut) to the commonwealth of Eastern Kentucky.

I suspect the Louisville faction of Antifa will try to warn the Atlanta faction that you don't show up in Appalachia uninvited and start trouble.

Who do you think will pay for that tariff?
Do you think it will make lumber and housing cheaper or more expensive?
Now, after Obama is gone, you worry about who is paying for what. This is not the first time for you questioning cost lately. You have shown that your concern is only for party affiliation and not for the nation. You are the worst of the worst

Fuzz is the worst. Good to see JohnKBA coming around (not on policy- which is perfectly fine, but delivery is now nice to read)

I've actually come to enjoy the forum. At the end of the day, we all want what is best. We may think there are different ways to get there but the discussion is what makes this country great. There are plenty of places where discussion like this is prohibited.

It's funny that antifa (just a bunch of 150 pound sucker-punching pussies) never start their crap in heavily conservative areas. Funny how that works.

I find it telling that you never address the question being asked. Of course the reason is because it exposes how gullible you and your ilk happen to be.

I'm not so sure that making a product that is closely tied to the housing market, an essential for most people more expensive is good for anyone.

I thought all conservatives bowed to Reagan? Reagan would be turning over in his grave hearing Republicans promoting trade tariffs.

Reagan put a tariff on Japanese Motorcycles to help Harley Davidson. You think Toyota built a plant in Georgetown out of the goodness of their heart?
Reagan made the Japanese companies either build a percentage of the vehicles in the US, or pay a tariff because it was crippling the US companies.
Hell, Trump sounds just like Reagan on that front.

Reagan supported a ban/tariff on Japanese motorcycles over 700cc to save Harley Davidson. It resulted in huge growth for Harley and well as a revolution in technology for the 600c motorcycle class

the flipside of the lumber argument is Canada subsidizing the Canadian soft lumber industry giving them an unfair market advantage. In the interest of free trade, you can't support unfair trade practices can you? If the costs of lumber are increased due to unfair trade, then the cost of lumber of artificially deflated at the expense of the American lumber industry.

One state, and one state alone gave Hillary the popular vote. Months later and fools are still trying to pretend the majority of the electorate, across the country, voted against Trump. Those two million more votes all came from California.

Hillary may have won the mythical, irrelevant, overall popular vote, but Trump won more popular votes among the 50 states, and by a lot.

This may come as a surprise, but America is not a direct democracy where liberal California mob rules. America is a constitutional republic. Every state gets a say so, and more said Trump.

[laughing] Not to mention, this sure looks like a mandate to me... from sea to shining sea.

LOL jesus Christ, so you're not even talking about Paul Ryan being elected by constituents, you're talking about Republicans in the house caving to the establishment and reappointing him as speaker.

He's got the mandate? Even though a large group of those guys told him to shove his healthcare plan, that was the opposite of everything they were elected on, right up his ass?

So the guy, who happened to be appointed by the majority party has the mandate. The guy who was elected into office by the American people does not have a mandate.

Good stuff.

That map is really telling. I'd be interested to see it broken down financially - i.e. Incomes in blue counties vs incomes in red counties.

I understand middle America is fed up with the lack of low skill jobs, but fvck....get off your asses and do something with yourselves. Trump isn't your savior.

Think you've read the situation wrong. They know all too well Trump isn't their savoir. He's their middle finger, their F you to Washington, their wrecking ball to the system.

Understood, but does that pay bills? That's all that matters to me is taking care of my family. I could give 2 fvcks about throwing middle fingers at anyone.

It's not just people that have lost jobs John. Look at the heroin and meth explosion running rampant in these same areas.
Communities start failing when the largest tax base picks up and moves, people lose hope.

Those super blue areas were all in on the socialist guy promising free handouts to all. Took a corrupt underhand screwjob to hand the nomination to Clinton.

But yeah, those red areas wanting handouts from their savior Trump.

I'm in a blue county. I pay more in taxes than a lot of people in those red counties make. Don't lump us all in with the socialists.

Mostly not, but letting the system run rampant definitely wasn't going to solve anything, and it would have only gotten worse. Voting was how they got off their asses and did something about it.

Best believe middle America, especially the rust belt, has been heard loud and clear. If the Democrats continue to ignore them, more worried about pandering, playing identity/social politics instead of addressing their needs/wants, Trump will easily get a second term.

I grew up in a small town in Northern Ontario the size of Calumet farm. There are still people in that town lamenting the fact that the government has let them down. I don't and will never have sympathy for them. Opportunities come along when people them for themselves. If you're struggling, and it's not because of a disability or something else beyond your control, it's because you're content to struggle.
