Yeah, finding the white papers that the Dems were going to break up Google, Microsoft, Facebook, and Apple and then control the vital parts (for the perfect communist state) seems to have had an effect.

Yet another lifelong Democrat who endorsed Trump because the dnc has gone completely commie takeover crazy.

Joni Ernst heading up the DOGE caucus is pretty nonsensical which is exactly what I expect from Republican leadership.

At this rate she’s going to need to focus on a primary challenger funded by the guy actually heading up the DOGE.

These uniparty MIC funded assholes all need to be sent packing.
She's so crazy that word is she thinks she can tank Pete's nomination and then get nominated for that spot. She's literally crazy. She doesn't seem to understand reality of the moment. If she tanks Pete she is done as a politician.... period.

What's wrong with Ernst? She's a big time Trump supporter isn't she?

As for DOGE, I understand that one of the first things that they/she intend to do is to eliminate remote work privileges for many federal employees. While I am generally all in favor of people working from the office, I know from experience that professional services firms have saved tons of money over the last few years in downsizing their real estate spend and allowing people to work remotely several days a week (or entirely) from home.

I also understand that the federal government (like the private sector) has taken on less office space over the last few years because so many people work from home.

So, my point is, that if the idea is to make federal government workers more productive, getting them back in the office makes sense. but, if the idea is to cut the budget of agencies (reduce spending), then I don't believe requiring in person work is the way to do it. It would have the opposite effect.
LOL. You think those government employees are doing work while at home. LOL.

This is exactly the dumb response I’d expect from you. You actually think people need to be in their cubicle to get stuff down. Sorry but that’s an archaic way of looking at things.

Good point. But many of these people have civil service protection so they cannot be fired unless it is a reduction in force (job elimination).
Which is exactly what Vivek has said... They will start by eliminating all employees who SSN end in an odd number. Half the work force is gone. Then you Maybe go to all employees who end in a zero... Eventually you get to a reasonable number for what they actually do. Vivek has talked about this on several podcast and even talked about legality of this method.

People... I'd say most people get less done at home. I'd say people like you love work from home because you don't have to "appear" to be busy.

Tell me you don’t know how Government civilian employment works without actually telling me. And yeah this is the dumbest thing ever. Eliminating people based off their SSN? You don’t actually believe this moron Vivek do you?

She served in combat. He is apparently on record as saying that women should not serve in combat. Given her background, isn't she entitled to be circumspect about his nomination?
Depends on your definition of "serving in combat".... Pete actually fought in gunfights. She was deployed in a combat area of operation. Not hating. I have a cousin that served in the Marines and was assigned to JAG unit in Iraq. His best friend that joined at the same time was assigned to a hill in Afghanistan that took mortar rounds weekly... My cousin actually had to ask for permission to go outside the wire because he hated being stuck inside the safe base while other people were getting shot to shit.

Tell me you are an idiot by just posting a post.... Vivek is a bonafide genius even if you disagree with him. Dude went to Harvard in his spare time to get a law degree... LOL.

The thought that being in the office somehow equals being more productive is stupid. Our team comes in 2 days a week and those 2 days are the least productive days by far. Everyone comes by to bother everyone with nonsense conversations. You get stuck in long meetings wasting all your day. At least when I’m teleworking , I can answer email and stuff during meetings. There’s no long commute and morale on the team is way higher. Elon seems like the type that thinks you need to be in the office to be productive and for someone who seems so smart, it’s a dumb way to view things.

Remote workers actually aren’t more productive. Will bosses finally call them back in this year?

New evidence suggests working from home, at least full time, may not be as productive as we once thought.

Even NPR thinks you are lying. LOL.

What are you basing this on because it’s not on reality or your personal experience with teleworking. I supervise 11 people. All 11 transitioned seamlessly to telework/hybrid posture. I have one that remote works from another state who is the highest performer on my team. People are happier. What’s more efficient about heading to the office? Is it the hour long commute sitting in traffic? The endless hours stuck in meetings? The side conversations that take up large parts of your day and interrupt progress? Let’s be real, if you’ve ever worked in an office, there are people who take advantage of things and bend the rules to be lazy. Thats always been the case even before teleworking. Will some people abuse telework too? No doubt those same people will. We come in 2 days a week which is a nice balance, there’s benefits to seeing your team. But those 2 days are the least productive days any of us have each week because of the above factors I mentioned.

Good example. I have roughly 4-5 hours of my day at least in meetings. As with most meetings, they could’ve been an email lol. That said when I’m at home, I can have the meeting up plus have emails to work on and respond to, I can simultaneously chat on TEAMS with others on my team on things they need from me, and also work on charts, etc. So why again is being in thr office more productive other than because Elon told you so?

It's not even being in the office, it's the government...youre lazy

We all have to deal with the government in some capacity and know this to be true, it's not like this is hyperbole

You obviously have no clue about the entire topic, from the financials to the intangibles of having people back in the office....productivity, community effect, morale, accountability (to name a few)

What does his worth have to do with anything?

Let's make it easier to understand..we pay taxes, all this welfare you want could be paid for without taxing anyone more of any income level. Instead of this tired "pay the government more! They're altruistic!"
His wealth is every bit of the problem as excess government spending. I’m totally in favor of reducing government and its spending. Don’t let my silence on this lead you to believe I disagree. The 400 or so families that have 50% of all wealth in America is where my concern lies. We’ve got to have a system put in place to target these individuals.
No u.
Go do what he did, Dion.

And quot being a little bitch.
Theres a lot of people here that are very bright that have a difference of opinions with me. You’re not one of them.
