Folks like Dore know that full well. But folks like Dore have been conditioned to believe whatever narrative they’re handed. So they struggle mightily when the narratives are, inevitably, exposed as falsehoods.
This short describes what is going on in the mindset of these people that deny reality to "fit in" with the crowd. The entire series is good so far, but just posting this short:

Here's the thing about liberalism that's been on full display with this SCOTUS hearing. Once these ppl are out of their echo chambers and they actually have to debate, listen to both sides, and be rebutted, they completely fall apart. That's why the left just shouts you down and calls you bigot...they can't stand on their own ideas.

What's wrong with Ernst? She's a big time Trump supporter isn't she?

As for DOGE, I understand that one of the first things that they/she intend to do is to eliminate remote work privileges for many federal employees. While I am generally all in favor of people working from the office, I know from experience that professional services firms have saved tons of money over the last few years in downsizing their real estate spend and allowing people to work remotely several days a week (or entirely) from home.

I also understand that the federal government (like the private sector) has taken on less office space over the last few years because so many people work from home.

So, my point is, that if the idea is to make federal government workers more productive, getting them back in the office makes sense. but, if the idea is to cut the budget of agencies (reduce spending), then I don't believe requiring in person work is the way to do it. It would have the opposite effect.

Completely wrong. The federal government has an 80% vacancy rate in its buildings, costing taxpayers billions. This isn’t them “taking on less office space”. They aren’t using the space they have.

We'll see. I hope that is the case.

Eat your crow if Musk suddenly finds himself with more government contracts or others in power gain even more wealth.

And if that doesn't happen, I'll gladly say I am wrong. Hell, I'll email you and Mrs. Turtle a gift card and cover dinner for a night.
If Elon Musk's net worth goes from 300 billion to 400 billion, I don't give a shit.
If he fires 60% of gubbmint bureaucrats, it'll be worth double that. These people are leaches.
This leviathan is out of control.
Personal friend says "we always spend it all, so we can get more."
Disgusting.

Elon musk fortune is the equivalent of 2.72 million Americans and the lifetime earnings they receive… but yes, the empty cubicles.

The thought that being in the office somehow equals being more productive is stupid. Our team comes in 2 days a week and those 2 days are the least productive days by far. Everyone comes by to bother everyone with nonsense conversations. You get stuck in long meetings wasting all your day. At least when I’m teleworking , I can answer email and stuff during meetings. There’s no long commute and morale on the team is way higher. Elon seems like the type that thinks you need to be in the office to be productive and for someone who seems so smart, it’s a dumb way to view things.

What does his worth have to do with anything?

Let's make it easier to understand..we pay taxes, all this welfare you want could be paid for without taxing anyone more of any income level. Instead of this tired "pay the government more! They're altruistic!"

Is that at your ups job, PLAT/J. EDGAR?

You sock accounts are tiresome. Admit who were, you losers.

why in the world would they need a pardon if they did nothing wrong?? (this is delicious)

who is going to ask china joe why he said in 2020 debates that hunter's laptop was not real when he just pardoned him for all the shit he did as detailed by the laptop?!?!

No one employed and propped up by the DS. Certainly not the doj, fibs, or congress. This "president" who knowingly defrauded the public and interfered with an election to obtain office is guilty of many things, including treason. The RINOs should've impeached him 2x over and had him removed from office. Of course, they're being paid by the same people as ChinaJo PeedoughPete.
