How soon our pointy-headed leftist friends forget.

On 9/11 - most people in this country had no idea what was happening initially

I think that also applies to many in the government and military

Once it was clear that planes were being used as weapons - there was a temporary HALT to how our skies functioned (.....then we helped the "good" Bin Ladens get home safely at that time....as I recall)

Once we understood the threat better and where it was coming from - that "channel" was shut down

I think our borders and immigration can be viewed the same way -- and I think most people would understand this

ESPECIALLY if that action is combined with genuine efforts to stop destabilizing the Middle East .... and I'd also like to see us acknowledge the Islamic Holy Land and PULL OUT ENTIRELY from Saudi Arabia....

As we're doing that - there should be a very clear statement via the UN Gen Assy --- that we hope the olive branch is received well by the Islamic world.....wethen declare the Global War on Terror to be OVER (and it was a failure)

Finally - we state very clearly that we still support our allies (albeit in a more Woodrow Wilson kind of way) and any attack on them - or us -- will result in massive retaliation.
from multiple fronts

PS: Saudi Arabia's current regime doesn't get that protection anymore --- good luck, you royal bastards

US Citizens will be told that harder times are coming from higher oil prices
BUT we continue to being manufacturing jobs back home and invest in independent energy sources at the same time

We can get through all that......

So outside the box thought:

Is there any political win to be had by reversing the 2013 senate Nuclear Option and going back to 60 votes? With only 8-10 seats up for re-election in 2018 versus 25 for Democrats, I would say there's a good chance the Republicans can get to 60 seats. If not, they can always play the obstruction card, which could potentially help parlay a White House victory in 2020, that the Democrats somewhat got in 2012.

Basically stating that the system of checks and balances works better when the Senate was bi-partisan and needed 60 votes, etc.

Maybe I'm an idiot, who knows.

Before we even get that specific -- someone needs to be paying attention to the latest Political Organ that Eric "GUNS 4 SALE!" Holder and Barack "Marxist-Shit-stain" Obama are using.....

https://democraticredistricting.com

Here's a link -- they're re-mapping state voting districts
They're SUING states as they go to make sure the new districts are "fair" and result more more D-Party wins ....

Maybe THATS why were seeing the Trump admin purge some of the Obama era types from the system.......

Alabama and Wisconsin have both received a federal ruling that their current districting lines are "unconstitutional"

I've mostly been on the DEMAND SIDE of the legal industry in my life -- so I'm not clear on what options the states have ... seems it would be:

1) Ignore the ruling or tell than that it's actually THEIR right to make those decisions
or
2) Appeal to the Supreme Court?

Survey: CEOs' economic optimism hits highest level since 2009

CEOs are upbeat about hiring, investment and sales over for the next six months, with the latest January to March quarter index rising 19.1 points to 93.3 from the 74.2 posted in the final three months of last year, the Business Roundtable's (BRT) economic outlook poll said.

Joshua Bolten, president and CEO of BRT, said that it is "hard to say exactly what the components of the increased optimism are."

"But certainly a big part of it has to be the political environment here in Washington," Bolten said on a media call with reporters.

"The Trump administration, the congressional leadership are promoting an agenda that our CEOs see as very positive," he said.

For the first time in seven quarters, the optimism index is above its historical average of 79.8.

"I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to enact a meaningful pro-growth agenda that will benefit all Americans," said Jamie Dimon, chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase and chairman of BRT.

Dimon said that businesses would argue that the United States can grow at a faster rate than the 2.2 percent pace the CEOs have projected for this year with the right policy around tax, regulatory and infrastructure.

"This country can do better, so we're not believers that somehow we're stuck in low-growth. ... We just need good policies at this point. Good policies good for all Americans, not just for big companies," he said.

CEO plans for hiring increased by 18 points from the previous quarter, while expectations for sales and capital expenditures increased by 21 points and 18.4 points, respectively, over the previous quarter.

Lol. She was definitely trolled. How do the WH know she had 05 returns? Trump playing the role of puppeteer

He's one step ahead of the VERY predictable media

The same thing happened when he called out GA Senator John Lewis for not doing enough for his constituents -- a fair challenge to that man

SO MANY in the media got on their high horse about how Trump had "attacked" a "Civil Rights Icon"......and as they were racing out to the end of that skinny, wobbly, little Limb........Trump already had a meeting set the next day (maybe 2 days later) with some of MLK's surviving family --- who were supporting him.

For the record - John Lewis never did produce data showing how much he's done for his constituents........he had NOTHING......neither did the media (except a big megaphone and the Goebbels-like tendency to tell big lies often enough so that they become truth....)

If anyone's ever worked with truly senior leaders in a strong private / for profit set up.....you probably are familiar with that feeling of needing to have ALL YOUR BASES covered when you meet / speak with them......especially if you're needing their buy in on something.

The media just aren't used to it -- they're used to having their asses thoroughly kissed and polished and they're accustomed to being treated like they're an integral and ESSENTIAL part of the BY GOD GOVERNMENT.....they are our INTELLIGENTSIA after all

and now they're being told that leaking classified information is ILLEGAL ... and they didn't even get invited to accompany Tillerson on this recent Pacific trip if I heard the radio correctly this past Monday

Honest to God -- a few of them need to be caught shutting information and send to MOTHERF'ING JAIL as an example.......

Keep up the pressure, Trump Admin

Meanwhile....police, border agents, active duty and military vet's continue to rally around this admin --- some are also looking at being more PRO ACTIVE in protecting public gatherings in the future as well ....as it should be

You guys are a minority majority

Imagine the outrage if seven or eight of the 10 that qualify happen to be high T, straight, white males. Then, imagine the shit storm when two of them win because of the 70-80% odds.

UMN Homecoming will crown gender-neutral ‘royals,’ not king and queen

'This change allows the University to select the best student representatives for the U of M based on campus and community involvement — regardless of gender,' the university website states.

As always, the student body will name 10 qualifying students to Homecoming court, 'only this year the mix won't necessarily be five men and five women.'

'Those 10 will be paired at random to compete in pre-Homecoming events, and their performance, along with a university-wide vote, will determine the two royals,' the Pioneer Press reports.

'We look forward to crowning two students who respectfully represent the university's values, connect with the diverse members of the university community, and have excellent school pride,' the spokesman said.

Good lord, what the hell has happened to this country?

Other than to make sure Trump has no foreign financial dealings that would affect him being POTUS, I don't see why people care about how much money he makes, or how much he pays in taxes.

There is far, far more information regarding financial dealings on his federal financial disclosure than would ever contained on a tax return.

I know you really want a single payer system. However, eliminating the insurance company profits will not have a huge impact on cost. There is also no guarantee that the government will be as efficient as insurance companies. Typically, government is not very efficient. It's certainly possible that the government inefficiencies will offset the profit being saved from going to a single payer system. Free market organizations tend to be much more efficient than government because they have to be to compete.

Fundamentally, the cost of insurance is only a small part of the problem. The cost of health care itself is the largest part of the problem. If we can't figure out how to introduce competition into health care itself, there is no way health insurance will ever be affordable. For example, my son got a fractured jaw in a basketball game. He stayed two nights in the hospital and had an hour and a half surgery to repair the fracture. The medical bilIs have been around $30,000. That seems crazy to me. That is what is driving insurance costs. I don't have the answers, but government run anything is rarely the answer.
If you got 2 nights in the hospital with or without surgery and had medical bills of $30,000, you got a bargain. My wife had outpatient surgery for a torn labrum in her hip...we arrived at the hospital at 9am and were gone by 2pm and that alone was $35,000. Add physical therapy and follow ups and it's closer to $45,000. She was diagnosed with cancer in January. Those treatments are approaching $150,000.

Competition in healthcare? It isn't going to happen where patient care is at stake. To begin with there aren't too many doctors out there looking for work. There is competition for elective procedures but not patient care. Insurance isn't paying for your wife's boob job. Next, do you really want to make potential life and death decisions based upon cost? Do you think you are qualified to evaluate what medical care you or a member of your family requires? Do you want the least expensive care or best care? Lastly, most care isn't planed...did your son plan his broken jaw? How many orthopedics did you have to choose from for care?

There is competition among hospitals which does nothing but drive costs up. Every hospital has to have all the latest and greatest equipment. Competition is based upon who does it better, not who does it for less. It has been probably 20 years ago but I read a report that at that time there were more MRI machines in the city of Boston than in all of Canada. It all leads to a duplication of services because in healthcare the competition is based upon results, not cost.

By that definition, our healthcare system is far superior to that in Canada. Why are you interested in moving toward a model that emulates the one in Canada?

I have said this in the past. I would prefer that we just pull out of everywhere and protect our borders until someone makes the mistake and hits us again. Then, go in fast and hard, kick their ass and get out. If anyone needs our help, pay for us to be there.

It all leads to a duplication of services because in healthcare the competition is based upon results, not cost.

Our company insurance allows you to shop for basic services...CT, MRI, tonsillectomy, colonoscopies, etc....and if you elect a doctor that is in the fair price blue book vs. going somewhere you would normally go to, you get a rebate check for anywhere from $25 to $100 depending on the service.

I think it's time to call the media exactly what it is. The Democrat Globalist Media. They represent one party and give false news, half truths and biased opinions to benefit that one party. The old tag line Main Stream Media is not fitting anymore. We need to call it exactly what it is. NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, New York Times & The Washington Post are all in sync with one another and have a clear mission statement. Destroy America.

Word down here is that there's an organized effort to stage a walk-out during the rally. Get tickets, go inside...then walk out sometime during the rally.

That's it? THAT'S your big protest? For some reason I expected more...I forget, though, that this is the party that includes the likes of Z, cardkilla, Rick, and fuzz. Nevermind.

The tax Trump paid in 2005 is the tax Trump wants to abolish

President Donald Trump wants to abolish the "Alternative Minimum Tax" (AMT) that, according to a copy of his federal tax return, cost him $31 million in 2005.
Trump said he wanted to abolish the AMT in 2016
when he was on the campaign trail:

"All ... Americans will get a simpler tax code with four brackets – 0%, 10%, 20% and 25% – instead of the current seven. This new tax code eliminates the marriage penalty and the Alternative Minimum Tax while providing the lowest tax rate since before World War II."

If the AMT didn't exist, Trump would have paid only a fraction of his 2005 bill. Trump's return shows that alongside the AMT adjustment the other taxes he paid total only about $7 million, or 4.5% of his $153 million in total income. As it is, Trump paid an effective tax rate of about 25% on his income."

Also, I may be wrong, but I think it's part of the various tax proposals that the AMT would get abolished, but we'd essentially be backdooring into an AMT with limitations on some itemized deductions.

Hopefully Trump OK'd the drop of the tax info for two reasons. First to troll the Maddow head and second to root out a mole within his organization.

Exactly. I have never seen something more inept than Maddow's "big news".

hahah what a GD laughing stock.
