Georgia's Governor and SOS are such pathetic people. How you could let the State of Georgia be competely run by corrupt Atlanta is unforgiveable.
I lived in the Atlanta area (not Fulton) 30 years ago. Atlanta has basically run the state for 50 years. Not getting any better...only now the Dem/libs are/have taken over the old 'metro' counties...DeKalb, Cobb, etc and they are getting just as bad.

Democrats are in turmoil in NV. Apparently high ranking member of the Dem party in NV has left the party because the socialist have taken over the party and he can't work with them anymore. NV might be biggest swing from '20 to '24.
Great news.

Really need either MI and/or PA and/or WI. Get those, then it's all over but the crying.

I have always felt that way and was happy to pay more to insure solvency and benefits, not only for my future but that of fellow Americans. I never understood why contribution rates weren’t raised, based on projections and actuarial tables. This was often discussed over the years at my CPE seminars. It was the politicians who were unwilling to raise the rates and limits, not most people I knew and worked with. Borrowing from the SSA funds by Congress was upsetting to folks, too.

Regards Viagra, I’ve had prostate cancer and it’s useless.

Fwiw … what’s always been amazing to me is how few people know that, except for self-employed people, FICA and Medicare taxes are matched by their employers. Folks get full benefits, but have only contributed half the cost.
Many things to go through here. First, sorry about your prostate cancer and honestly glad you survived. I think i am there now. Time, and tests, will tell

Second, you were willing to pay more, did you pay more? If no, then your sentiment is no more than weak virtue signaling. Sorry, but honest truth.

Third, that employer share is what we each could have had in terms of salary. It is amazing to me that people cannot do that math and never realize how much the govt steals from them. And some NEVER get benefits or what they paid into the ponzi scheme.

You seem like a nice, albeit misguided ole chap. Good luck, but i am angry that you care about the securing the border AND voting for knee pads.

Two things.

The reason there won't be enough funds coming in is not because the contributions are too small. It's because benefits were raised too high for the future contributions projections so that pols, knowing full well there wouldn't be enough contributions long-term, could get credit, meaning votes, for the excessive increases in benefits at that moment. Nothing new or different about that bs.

The supposed employers match is nothing but unknown income to employees who think they are getting great benefits for the supposed little payments they are putting in. This is another political move to help the politicians who came up with the idea and ongoing. As you point out, the truth of who is really paying it all comes out for those self-employed.

Polls show that men overwhelmingly still want to vote on election day. Everyone getting worried about this need to realize that we used to have a voting day and lots of people like to pretend we are still a proper country.
I didn't see more women than men in the early voting Thursday.

So you think it is a great political system that mandates our Presidential candidates spend 99 percent of their time pandering to 7 states while telling the other 43 states they basically don't matter??
How bout speak to ALL the American people? Maybe we'd end up with better candidates if this were the case.
Times change and it's time for the electoral college to go. Political minority and fringe groups are the only beneficiaries.
I think it's a great system that the smaller states can't be completely overwhelmed by the larger ones. No one would campaign outside the 5-10 largest states, so just different states would be targeted than today.

Again... Where is the enthusiasm for Kamala? Papers won't endorse her and even die hard Libs won't. Rasmussen just said that Kamala is performing more like Hillary and Trump is outperforming his '20 run. Rasmussen final poll has Trump plus 3 which is insane.

Late (beyond the legal deadline) ballot dropoffs in Georgia

Problem with that is it takes 3 times, had different results 3 different times. Election should not be off at all let alone 3 times no matter who wins.
So go to work for government & fix it. Government always screws things up, right? Will always be true because there's no accountability as in the private world.

Can't tell if Raskin is talking so much to see how it plays with the media or if he's just admitting what they plan to do and you are going to have to go with it.

Raskin has a panel scheduled for mid November. The topic? Something about a “time of chaos and confusion” make of that what you will.

if trump doesn’t win voting will be just a charade going forward. one party rule will make voting, our most cherished right, irrelevent
Looks like the big city ballot harvesting is coming up short in a few places. At least Trump doesn’t need all 7 swing states as a couple might still be doing what they can to sneak in the ballots.

The best understanding and appreciation for Social Security, and ESPECIALLY Medicare, happen when you are retired and using them to live. Probably goes without saying, but …

Agree, even politicians that want to do right by the people get caught up in the lobbying and corruption. I am right at 60 now and a little old to try to get involved in DC. Yes, the government does always screw things up. When you have a government that can vote their own raises, vote to have their own health care and such, then yes that entity is always 1000% of the time gonna be out for number 1 while doing number 2 on the rest of America. Point Blank plain and simple.
Back in the 70's my dad had his own plumbing company, above his desk was a sign that holds true still today. Picture of a toilet in the foreground with DC in the background, words: FLUSH TWICE IT IS A LONG WAY TO DC!.

He and mom were democrats. But he knew the system was extremely broken and said something broken unchecked or not fixed will continue to become a larger problem year after year. Like a small leak in a pipe, by the time you find it the boards around the pipe are rotted. We have been rotting as a people for over 150 years. The leak has become massive over the last 50 years.
