My own personal positions are just a minor function of that. I could not locate beef prices in the inflation calculation. I would guess that they conveniently omit certain items and services in order to make the inflation increase more palatable.

Core inflation excludes gas and groceries. I’m not an economist and I’m pretty sure Sam isn’t either. Would make sense to quote the lower number when propping it for political reasons though.
