Not how it works. They can't ask him just anything. It's limited to only the matters at hand. Of course in his inevitable ramblings he probably would've opened the door to 100 more issues that would've put him in jeopardy. Anything on those issues indeed would've been charged. If he just listened to his lawyers that could be avoided but we know 1) he hires sh1t lawyers and 2) he won't listen, which is probably why #1 is true.

The whole thing is an affront to justice. Then trump just makes it that much easier on them by never shutting up and never listening to legal advice.
I dont think it even matters who Trump had as lawyers...Jesus himself could have came down from the Heavens and represented him himself and Trump was gonna be convicted. He will probably be convicted in the other bogus cases too. The swamp wants him in jail and/or dead. Probably preferably dead.

I always enjoy your posts. I think the physical training is important but as you said there are always exceptions where lethal force is necessary. I do think something that can close the gap even more is Brazilian jiu jitsu. There are law enforcement focused modifications they teach around the country. I think that would do even more.

To me it must be scary if you're one of these portly slow footed beat cops who knows they literally can't physically restrain a non compliant person. I think it's irresponsible to hire them, but at this point these positions just fill with whomever applies.
I guess the woke police will be after me, but I watch these cops shows on TV where the woman cop takes down the bad guy. A buddy and I was once sent to the NCO club where a drunk guy had taken over the stage from the band. My buddy was a big weight lifter and I was glad I didn't have a 115 pound dei woman helping me take care of the problem.

Man, I cannot tell you all how bummed I was to miss the last few days on here. Family medical stuff that superceded even politics. I'll bet it was a heated affair around here (I'm not the type to go back and read old stuff)
In the parking lot today, there was a circus! The copier did tricks on the high-wire. A lady tried to give away a baby that looked like a cat. There was a Dwight impersonatorand a Jim impersonator. A strong mancrushed a turtle. I laughed and I cried. Not bad for a day of the life in a dog food company

Of course it was a witch hunt but no need to make it easy on them. He's such a an awful client no wonder he can't get better lawyers. Or maybe he's just such a bad client it's him making them look bad? Not sure.

They're not going to IMO.

I stand by my prediction that this will actually help Trump. His popularity has consistently improved with each stunt the Biden admin/DOJ pulls. (particularly amongst latinos and blacks)

I think Trump wins 283 to 312 electoral votes.

(as of today, Trump leads the national aggregate by 2.2)

There are many reports out now that include allegations that Trump used the "the N-word" on the set of THE APPRENTICE and there is supposedly a tape of him doing it. I have no clue whether this is true, or not, but if it ends up being undeniably true, it will be interesting to see what effect it will have on minority supporters. The claim has been made by a former producer, Bill Pruitt, of THE APPRENTICE, who now no longer is under an 20-year NDA clause. This may well end up being a nothing-burger, but reports are now surfacing. Of course, the timing seems very suspicious because of the recent trial conviction. I suspect people will want to hear the tape for themselves. We'll see if anything becomes of this ...

Yeah, I'd need to see that. If they had that, I can't imagine that it would just now surface after 20 years.

Unless Biden can turn things around I think he's doomed. I'm not even sure Biden is actually going to BE the nominee.

OT:
I saw UK was a 24.5 point favorite against So Miss. I looked up the last 20 non-conf, non-bowl games to compare. During that time, UK is 20-0!! (which is pretty dam good)
In those 20 games, UK averaged 39.75 points and gave up 15.4 points. A difference of 24.35 points, round up and you get 24.5.

Did everyone realize UK is 20-0 against regular season, non-conf opponents? (UL is the only ranked opponent during that timeframe, #25 in 2022 and #10 last season.

It also makes me wonder ... is that the analysis the bookies are doing?!? Are they just as lazy as I am on research?? LOL

I have it on good authority that it was preceded by "My" and ended in "-ah"

Even 20 years ago, TMZ would have broken that wide open ASAP.

To be clear, we are saying if the defendant does not like the jury, it's not a fair trial?
It's not a fair trial wrtt the jury if that jury isn't a person's peers. I think it's been assumed that peers are people living in the same area. But with hyper partisanship, if you're a person known to have different views than overwhelmingly most people in that area, they aren't your peers anymore imo. You deserve a change of venue to a more balanced or even similar viewpoints area. I believe that jury was pre-disposed to be against Trump & the court gave Trump zero opportunity to counter those views with his rulings. Net, the jury wasn't so much out to get Trump imo, but the biases of the system there determined their decision. Like/dislike didn't matter.

Jesus DID come down from the heavens...and they killed him after a sham trial.

You didn't miss anything. They will always come here to troll when they can gloat (which is all it was, that and shockingly obtuse "arguments" which is par for the course from the modern left) about a "victory;" i have a feeling you'll get many more opportunities between now and the election.

The jury, based on the evidence that was allowed/not allowed to be presented, and the expansive jury instructions, probably got it right.

Surely nobody on here was surprised by the verdict. If they were, then shame on them.

But, as I've said, IMO it won't matter.

It's pointless to rehash the trial and verdict at this point. It was a fait accompli.

All that is left is the election.

How many thousands/yr you willing to pay to achieve that?

Me, put the blame where it belongs: on the offenders . & stop worrying about imperfect officers.

Lack of pay leads to 1) not enough officers and 2) many that are hired being subpar. Both are major obstacles to actually fighting crime and getting this mess under control.

You can easily get there by not wasting money. Plus alcohol sales in ky go directly to law enforcement iirc. So there is already no shortage of revenue.

Well, there won't be anymore trials before the election. And Trump is now free to campaign, unfettered.

He's made his sentiments known on the trial and verdict, and now he needs to get back to hammering Biden on his abysmal performance as POTUS. And there is almost unlimited ammunition for him to use on that front.

With respect to the debates, I fully expect Biden to hammer away on the convictions, no matter how flimsy that some folks might or might not think they were.

"not wasting money": The forever fallback. Money is laying around in government & being siphoned off from law enforcement (only?). Got it.

How many officers should there be? What's par if we have subpar?

Then after all that, even when you made the correct split second decision while putting your life on the line for mediocre pay; you could be sued into oblivion or jailed..
Whenever I read something like this it reminds me of the North Hollywood shootout (1997 robbery and shootout in L.A.). About 20 police and civilians were shot/injured.....but the cop who was standing guard over one of the perps (who had been shot and then died) was sued by a bleeding heart attorney (representing the kids of the perp).

Extremely doubtful. In fact, I would expect enforcement of the sentence to be set aside until the appeal has run it's course. Trump is a first time offender, and the "crime" (chuckle) was non-violent. Even lawyers/prosecutors on the left don't think Trump will get any incarceration (which includes house arrest LOL)

Just like Kansas City, in the hit musical, Oklahoma, this trial has "gone about as fer as she can go."

9-0. Is that good?

Read a bit of the opinion when it came out. Good confirmation of the law as it relates to government stifling free speech. This case was at the motion to dismiss stage, which means the trial court dismissed the case on the face of the complaint alone, saying there was no cause of action. The Court stated that government cannot scare people into silence, saying the first amendment claim was a valid claim, but not saying that the NRA would win when the case went back on remand. Liberals using a branch of government attempting to oppress a lawful business.

I see a politician saying that he promises his voters that he would prosecute another politician if elected, without really saying what the crime will be, as a kind of similar misuse of government power. Not analogous, but similar.

These 'debates' are always a joke. They are not debates in the true sense of the word. Questions are never answered...just talking points.

Moderator....President Biden, how will you address inflation?
Biden....Trump is a convicted felon.
Moderator....President Biden, will you continue to fund Ukraine?
Biden....Trump is a convicted felon.
Moderator....President Biden, what are your plans on closing the border?
Biden....Trump is a convicted felon.
Etc.
Etc.
Etc.

His sentence July 11 will be 5 months house arrest - or probation where is forbidden to leave town.

You think? I fully expect them to put him jail. Dems already introducing legislation to remove his SS while in prison. You know they’re all privy to the game plan at this point.

This is beyond just dirty politics or hurting him on he campaign trail. They want him gone by any means necessary and they would have zero problem doing the unthinkable if it come to that imo.

i remember that. the perps wife/relative claimed the cop didn’t try to give aid to the pos who moments before was trying to mow him down with a machine gun.

“Contorted” is an awfully nice way of saying “we made sh*t up, used a judge who makes money by hating Trump, and then got a jury full of people that would have convicted Trump of absolutely anything we charged him with, no matter what the evidence or lack of evidence shows”.
There is an appeals process. That is how the system works.
