Sadly I doubt it will matter. The Dems will just continue to cheat the American people from a fair election process from this point on. It's what they do and they don't care. But there will come a day when they do, and it will probably be too late. Today's Democrats simply HATE America.
We just have to make it TOO BIG TO CHEAT.

And this isn't a pandemic election. Georgia has just put restrictions on the counting of absentee/mail-in ballots.

Can't give up my man. Trump is going to do it.

I hope you're right! I'll continue to do my part but the Dems are leading this cheating race and they simply don't care how far they have to crawl down in the sewer to win an election and spread their hate. Hopefully Reps get mean and nasty before November but I have my doubts. But like you said, I won't give up.

Yep, and the avenues for appeal are legion. I don't think that even Merchan has the balls to put Trump in prison for these "crimes" (again, chuckle...)

But, unless it is overturned before the election (no chance), ironically, Trump won't be eligible to vote for himself. (Not that he'll need that vote in Florida)
He probably will be able to vote. Florida respects the state of the conviction and in NY felons can vote if not currently incarcerated.

Outstanding column from a never-Trumper now seriously considering voting for Trump in 2024:

Pretty much agree except him saying he'll try to make a good choice. There isn't one. One is just considerably worse than the other. The other is so off the wall you don't know what you're going to get the next minute. But it's ahead for knowing you'll continue to get terrible.

What's convicted felon, Donald Trump, up to today?
Are you even sure that he IS a convicted felon, yet? Do you know for a fact whether a conviction takes effect at imposition of sentence or upon rendering of a jury verdict, in New York? I don't know this answer as far as New York goes. Do you?

No, he's convicted.

And will remain so until/unless it's overturned on appeal
That wouldn't necessarily be the case in Ohio. Conviction occurs upon imposition of sentence. Obviously, he was convicted by a jury, but that may or may not be the same as being legally convicted, until the case is concluded at the trial level with a judgment entry imposing sentence.

Trump should spend the next few weeks campaigning in prisons who’ve been locked up under Biden’s crime bill he sponsored decades ago. Should make criminal justice reform, and rectifying wrongful convictions now that he’s seen how the justice system can be weaponized a big component of his campaign.

Think of your least favorite veggie stacked on a dinner plate. That is Trump.

Now think of a dinner plate covered with feces.

I choose the peas. They gross me out, but I know they are much better for me than the alternative.

I really don't see the difference.

The sentencing phase is inevitable once the jury convicts. The appeal comes after sentencing. My perception is that the judge in NY is the sole determiner of a sentence, like the federal system. If so, it would be wild if this judge gave no jail time. From a political perspective, that would probably be good for Biden, but also would show the irrelevant nature of the trial event. Does NY have mandatory sentencing or does the judge have full discretion?

I agree, but they DID riot.

Was it ridiculously overblown and incorrectly attributed? Absolutely.

As with all of the rioting over the past 6-8 years, it was an embarrassing moment for our country.

Here is why you generally cannot trust the "fact checkers"... they still have this up:

No redaction ... no update.

The reference, Pedo Pete, is on the laptop from hell ... which 51 "intel" guys said wasn't true ... turns out that was a lie too.
"There are more pictures, texts, and emails about the younger Biden’s business deals, drug use, sex life, and family relations. Hunter referred to his stepmother, first lady Jill Biden, as a “vindictive moron.” There’s a contact nicknamed “Pedo Peter,” which appears to refer to his father: Joe Biden often used the alias “Peter Henderson,” the name of a character in a Tom Clancy novel, when he traveled."

Even snopes couldn't bring themselves to even "mostly untrue"...

New Reuters/Ipsos poll shows:

- 10% of registered R's less likely to vote for Trump now
- 25% of registered Indep. voters less likely to vote for Trump now

Some of the numbers show little to no change while a group of R's (35%) and a group of I's (18%) polled are more likely to vote Trump now.

Numbers will continue to fluctuate but again, I'll be very surprised if becoming a convicted felon is an overall positive for Trump that lifts him back into the WH. This thread ain't real life and there's very few people who might still be on the fence who are now like, "alright, Trump might be a felon now but this is still too far...I'm voting for the felon." This has ignited Trump's core base...but they'll put Donald Trump as a write-in even when he's dead.

Also on Jan. 6 - probably best for this thread to just leave it alone at this point. I've read every conspiracy theory and every spin posted here since it happened, from it being Antifa, to the FBI, to being fake, to not actually being an insurrection. Spinning J6 just to make yourselves feel better is silly. Best to just say it was really dumb and a really bad look for Trump and some of his hardcore supporters/fans and leave it be.

No. Best to continue to remind people how much of a farce this show trial was. You don’t “leave it be” when it comes to things like this, otherwise it becomes normalized and considered acceptable.

You know you're right...the Republican Party as a whole should really remind the country over and over about the insurrection and how they're supporting a convicted felon. Please do that.

Separate from that, a Morning Consult poll shows:
- 49% of Independents think Trump should drop out.
- 54% of registered voters either "strongly" or "somewhat" approve of the guilty verdict.
- 15% of likely R voters believe Trump should drop out, 8% of self-proclaimed Trump supporters feel the same.

I guess the really positive polling numbers for a newly convicted felon running for POTUS will be in soon...

Hatred is everywhere these days, just not the type you’d think IMO.

Privilege...

"women's athletics" has taken a weird turn ... they bitch and bitch about their league not getting enough attention. Now that they have a shot, they don't want it because she's white.

Cheering on assault too...

Was the girl given a flagrant or even a technical? Doesn't look like it. Flagrant 1. If that happened in a men's game, would the player get ejected?

Is it true that one of the jurors claimed in the interview process that the only news outlet that he/she followed was Truth Social ?? I find this very hard to believe, but it was reported.

Appreciate the research but "which appears to refer" means nothing. Also why are we now taking Hunter's word? Isn't he an awful, drug addicted embarrassment who belongs under a prison?

I could also post a clip of Trump saying some very cringy things about young girls and his own daughter if you like. I was once a big Howard Stern fan.

Might be wrong here but I think that's a misquote. One juror said they followed Trump on TS and Biden on Twitter. If that's correct, then someone just wanted to shift all attention to the TS follow as TS folks seem to usually be fairly hardcore Trump folks.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve tried to research it and haven’t found much of anything.
It just seems too far-fetched to be believed.

Biden has stolen 20% from everyone since 2021.
Biden has let in 10 million unknown people. Mostly young men making a run for your wife or daughter.
Biden put us a on the brink of ww3

Gimme the guys who documents his legal expense as a legal expense 10 out of 10 times over a guy who’s screwed the country. There’s your and other tds then there is reality

The fact you can’t comprehend this and are relishing in the weaponization of our legal system is why our country will ultimately burn. This eventuality is probably inevitable. At least Trump is trying to slow it down.
