I had two Gr uncles that served under Patton during WW2. They’re dead now, they considered the French military leaders cowards and had little for them. The French people were very resilient according to them. 80 years later, but still probably relevant
So the French people were game in WW2.

The best deal in history is getting "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" on Audible. It's like 57 hours of content on the rise and fall of Hitler and the Nazis for $12. And the narrator is excellent. It was written by an American jounalist who was stationed over there during the 30's and the War. And it was obviously written back then so the woke nonsense wasn't involved. It really enhanced my understanding of how effed up Hitler and that crew were. Some points:
  • Talk about stealing an election; Hitler took the cake on that. He never came close to winning one. He came to power through backroom deals and shady nonsense.
  • All the "Hitler was good at first" stuff was complete crap. When any success did occur it was more of a blind monkey throwing darts is gonna hit the target now and then situation. He screwed up a hell of a lot more than he solved economically.
  • We tend to think of the main target of the Nazis as the Jews; and it was based on Mein Kompf and his actions killing 6M+ of them. But in WWII he basically decided he wanted to kill ALL of the Russians too. It wasn't going to be "oh, the Russians surrendered and we'll take some land." It was "every last one of them is going to die".
  • I still don't blame France for not being game to fight, especially after WW1.
Read that sucker three times when I was young.
I'll take a little different take on your second point. Had an aunt that was German. Married my uncle after WWII when he was stationed in Germany. Since I've always been a history buff...especially the Civil War and WWII...I remember talking to her about that. Of course this was her point of view and that of her family and friends in Germany at the time....but she/they thought early on that Hitler was great. That he was doing great things for Germany especially with the economy.

Are you denying anti-Christian rhetoric is prevalent on the left? We see it here every single day man.
Yeah, he's insane. Go to a college campus and see how lunatic leftists treat Christians. I saw some of the most disgusting treatment at my university. Absolute unhinged lefties harassing and yelling vulgarities, etc. Of course, these pussies never try this on any other religion,

So the French people were game in WW2.
According to my GR uncle that I knew the most, he said the French people were very game. He was a sergeant in the 3rd army. He was a very humble and quiet guy. My dad's family has always been loud including another brother who was in the 3rd. Uncle Roy Lewis was kinda a big deal in the Battle of the Bulge but he was very quiet about it. Came back from the war, became a teacher, and eventually superintendent of our local school system. Big man, but very humble and soft spoken

And it's not new. Was a member of First Baptist Atlanta in the 80s. Dr. Stanley (the minister) was the President of the S. Baptist Convention at the time. It was quite common for leftist pro-Gay activists to be out on the sidewalk of the front entrance (right on Peachtree St) demonstrating, yelling vulgarities, cussing, etc. Walked my three little kids thru that nonsense once....then on we would go into the building by a side or rear entrance.

Which media is it that knowingly lies to and manipulates it’s viewers?

Look, libiot, internal Dominion emails have already revealed that their software was prone to erroneous results. Besides that, there has been no proof the election wasn't stolen either. Vote harvesting along with mail in voting ensured dems would win key states.

We're all going to pay for this bullshit, but you will be more pissed than I will because it will be a surprise for you.

Your “Workers of the world unite!” schtick gets so tiresome. I don’t begrudge anyone making a gazillion dollars through their hard work and intellect as long as they’ve done so honestly.

The wealthy already pay the greatest share of tax revenue, Do you blame them for not wanting to pay more? Do you think it should be illegal to move from a state that has a high income tax rate to a state that has no income tax? Do you favor seizing the assets of the wealthy so they can’t pass it on to whomever they choose?

We have a spending problem, not a revenue problem. Stop blaming the people who innovate and create wealth.
Yes. You can’t take it with you when you die. And what wonderful amounts of wealth they’ve created. The majority of America lives paycheck to paycheck.

So ... you couldn't name one REAL country that provides more opportunity than the US does.

You proved my point. Now, if you would only take the time to SERIOUSLY ponder the implications with that point.
Of course there are countries with more opportunities. Twenty six of them according to this:
Socially-Mobile-Countries.png

I didn’t address your posit because it was absurd on its face. We’re talking about the future and what comes next. American capitalism in 2023 is not the end-all be-all of human advancement and it’s unfathomably arrogant and silly to assume so.

Yet you post on the political thread. Quite the strange behavior having that position.
Once again you have misinterpreted what someone has said in a clear manner.
I don't understand what one's degree of athleticism has to do with one's ability to coach any sport.
Should have stopped with the bolded part.

Sometimes a post is made that is worth more than 1000 others because of how revealing it is. Ivy League? You think that successful means Ivy League?

My dad and FIL were factory workers. Their dads were farmers, like their dads. Me and wife went to college, own a home, have accumulated some wealth. We’re more successful (and lucky) than 99.99% of people that ever lived on this rock and had none of those things on that list. (Unless it was the good name my parents gave me that they earned by staying out of trouble.) Most of us in America can say the same. And we owe it to the generations before us. who understood clearly that this is a garden spot on earth, despite the imperfections.

What a childish notion. No wonder the left is so messed up. They evidently truly think that everything somebody has was stolen in some way.

Success for the left means they don't have to work. That explains everything coming out of their mouths and their doctrine in a nutshell

Another list of countries that haven’t paid for their own protection for 70 years. Do tell me more though about their investments in “social mobility”.

I attended a S Baptist Church in Georgia. One Sunday our pastor read directly from the Bible, KJV, scripture. No commentary, just scripture. The homosexual crowd in Atlanta monitored his every word and before you knew it, he was receiving death threats.

He was labeled a hate monger. For just reading the Bible. Threats on his life continued. Our church sanctuary had four entrances and the church had civilian dressed off duty police officers seated next to each entrance and a body guard with the pastor. All 5 were heavily armed. The pastor sat on the first row of pews during the song service and was accompanied to the pulpit by the armed body guard to give the sermon. The pastor stood in the pulpit and the body guard took a seat on the rostrum in a chair behind the pulpit.

America today.

They didn't all have flu. Very few were actually tested. The D gov is orchestrating a food shortage. You can ignore that like you ignore everything else your party has been doing to reverse the gains made in the previous admin.
This makes me sad. Not everything is a Dem or Rep conspiracy. When a chicken catches the avian flu all of the chickens are culled.

Secondly, this is happening all over the world. Britain, Japan, France, etc.

My buddy dated a girl in college that was first generation American. She flew back to Germany 2-3 times per year. She STILL thought Hitler did great things for Germany before he did the "other stuff." She couldn't even say what he did. Yes, she is a Democrat and a socialist just like her parents and many people who backed the party in the generation before hers.

SOCIALISM is simply another system by which criminals/immoral people will seek to get rich because it is easier not to get caught doing it. THAT is the truth of it all. Those who desire socialism just desire their shot at suppressing people. They have no clue just as they didn't in the countries forming the soviet union that most of them will be purged in the decades that follow. They are simply useful idiots. Pawns for the cannon fodder and then competitors for riches and therefore necessary to be eliminated since they won't work either.

The socialism of Europe is and has been dependent on the free market capitalism of the US for over a century now, and that is why the left at the direction of their gods has sought to overturn the economy through the breakdown of morals and ethics, the overturning of the judicial system, and the weakening of the gov through placing liars and thieves in power. Without the US, the Berlin Wall would never have been built until it was placed on the western shores of the UK.

As things are now, it might've been better had that happened for this reason only- At least the US would know socialism is an obvious threat and that it had no real allies.

Worked with a girl whose grandfather served in Europe during WW2. One of 2 things I missed after we split up was talking to him and spending time with him. He surprised me one day with a story he wouldn't tell in front of the ladies. As the allies were marching into Paris after it was liberated, the French ladies were spitting on and throwing nasty sht at the American troops while up ahead they were kissing their Nazi boyfriends goodbye and crying. Both Germans and Americans marched the same direction, but many of the French did NOT want the Americans there.

It was something they never talked about and weren't supposed to while they served.

I see that the two likes to this post have absolutely no idea that 12 of 14 points describe “progressivism” to a T. Holy shit.
This is more of a simplified version of Umberto's list pasted earlier.

If you want you can take from this as well.
The 14 characteristics are:

  1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism
Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

  2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights
Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

  3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause
The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

  4. Supremacy of the Military
Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

  5. Rampant Sexism
The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

  6. Controlled Mass Media
Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

  7. Obsession with National Security
Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

  8. Religion and Government are Intertwined
Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

  9. Corporate Power is Protected
The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

  10. Labor Power is Suppressed
Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed .

  11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts
Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

  12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment
Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

  13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption
Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

  14. Fraudulent Elections
Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections

My aunt was fully aware...after the war...what Hitler did. But still thought Hitler did some good things early on. Moved over here in the mid-late 60s when my uncle retired from the Army and went to work for the State Dept. She turned out to be a conservative Repub. Maybe because she was married to one.
