The flip side of that coin is that as the Republican party has become more working class because of culture issues the Democratic party has become wealthier sucking up those educated, upper income, socially liberal, more fiscally conservative former Republicans. With Trump touting trade protectionism the two parties are closer on economic policy today than they've mostly been historically. Both are big spenders. So Joe's old Democratic party of the working man needs to find that identity or it'll just keep bleeding more and more working class voters to anti-drag queen mania as they don't see a big enough difference in the economic message. 'Go economy go! Do good and awesome!' only goes so far.
