Heard a prediction this morning that we should expect grocery items to increase another 7-8% in price. Restaurant costs are already greatly inflated. I spent $20 on a Jersey Mike’s sandwich for dinner last week. How often are people going to do that?
Among other things, I know a bit about the restaurant industry. COGs for your meal is "ideally" 25%. So one of two things must happen because food cost inflation. Either the price must go up or the portion size must decrease or a combination thereof. There is just so much you can squeeze out of the bread or fries or meats. The average Penn Station or Jersey mikes only does about $750k per year so with wage inflation piled on...and fewer tippers in that type of store....its tough for a franchisee to make much money. That is why they normally have a few. Volume. Chick-fil-a on the other hand....they have it figured out. There is one of their stores near me that does $9mil. much lower margin but volume. McD's is next but way down to about $2.9mil.

The left wants and needs racism to keep their people in line. The two most important distractors used by them to try and take attention away from the mess they have created with Biden is the race card (completely overused and over drawn) and Trump.

They are desperate at this point. Everything is now racist.
They tell us only whites are racists and a black is not capable of being a racist. So when 5 black officers beat a black man to death for a "traffic violation" it becomes racism rooted in white supremacy.

I still don't know what this traffic violation was suppose to be.

Chick-fil-A is the model for fast food restaurants. Their profits are high and down here they are closed on Sundays. If I were a young high school kid looking for my first job I would apply at Chick-fil-A.

Closed Sunday's is their practice everywhere. They have limits on the franchisee as to stores, and their first store must hit all the benchmarks before they can open a second. Just because you have the money to buy a franchise doesn't mean you will get one. Vigorous vetting process.

Defund the police!!!

That will be a winning message this time around.
I don't know, it didn't seem to hurt them the last time around. There are a lot of stupid voters. Just tell them Jan 6 and that the Republicans want raped 10 year old girls who are victims of incest to have to have their babies. They will forget the crime in the streets and the other destruction all around them.

About 60 roofers and loggers die per year. They don't kill anyone in return. And police don't just kill people. They ruin 10s of thousands of lives each year with the moronic war on drugs. Don't even get me started on civil forfeiture. Just like with schools, we've let law enforcement run unchecked completely out of control. The whole country just needs to calm the **** down.
I'm not starting you on anything, DA. The starting is all on you.

Police inforce drug laws as their job requires. Yes, some of our drug laws are pretty stupid.

What's out of control is your police attacks.

Quit being obtuse. What possible reason is there for having that memorized? It's trivia, not critical thinking. And I like trivia.
Your reply says a whole lot about why todays younger generation doesn’t give a shit about or have pride in their own country anymore. It’s basic Civics. Then you say “yeah but we have little computers in our pockets that we carry around if we need to know the answer”. Well, that’s a copout, and a large part of the problem too. You stress how everyone needs an education like yours but why? If all the answers to the worlds problems are in our little phones then we’ve lost the battle. The WEF and globalists have won, we are officially robots who rely on a little electronic device to control our thoughts and deliver all the answers THEY want us to see.

Yes it does. We have used it to generate a little stockpile of certain items like deodorants, soap, toothpaste, toilet paper and paper towels. When our Daughter comes over she always says she is going to the store, which is just the guestroom bookshelves.
I use CVS extra care bucks for stockpiling that stuff. Sometimes you can combine that with Ibotta deals. Toothpaste and toothbrushes are virtually free at CVS if you play the extra care bucks game right.

Something that has been totally lost in the last few decades is the definition of racism. That is where one race feels, or thinks it is superior to another. Now......everything is thrown on the alter of 'racism'. A term so overused that it basically has lost it's meaning....or sting.

Was fortunate to have known Truett Cathy (founder of Chick-fil-A) through business contacts and church when I lived in Atlanta. One of the nicest people I've met in my life. A very Christian man (the reason why the left goes after the business so much).

'I see no conflict whatsoever between Christianity and good business practices. People say you can't mix business with religion. I say there's no other way. Share this' S. Truett Cathy

'I'd like to be remembered as one who kept my priorities in the right order.' S. Truett Cathy

'Our decision to close on Sunday was our way of honoring God and of directing our attention to things that mattered more than our business'.

Where is the outrage over this incident?

I'll hang up and listen.
Democrat Mayor, Police Chief is black. The city is 63% black. Obviously the police force is predominantly black as there wasn’t one white officer in sight. Can we drop the whole “this was about race” narrative in this case? The kid was murdered. These Officers should be held accountable in a big way for their egregious actions and the Memphis PD has some serious explaining to do.

Yes, police need better training, better pay, and accountability for their actions.

Some of your buddies talking up their legislative agenda. Nice crew
Did he yell out any names of white people taken out by the police? Didn’t think so. They don’t push the narrative. This was 5 black cops in a predominantly black city with a black Police Chief and they want to make it about race.

The Justice Dept. will swoop in any day now.

Or not.

I remember the days of five dollar footlongs at subway. Easily twice that or more now, and their sandwiches are trash compared to literally every other sandwich place. Their meatball sub is about the only thing worthwhile on their menu.

Your argument is she was unprepared.

I havent followed this at all. Was she surprised with the interview? Or did she randomly show up at the capitol one day and won a drawing to interview?

If the answer is no, and she knew she was coming into an interview, then whose fault is it that she didnt prepare for basic questions?
What kind of question is that? It is obviously her fault she was unprepared.

Issue spotting and research. That encompasses the general practice of law. Won’t save you from failing to preserve objections at trial, but without those two things, you likely fail. The practice of law is really learning a new language that separates the average educated person from being a lawyer. A Spokane trial judge is probably a good candidate for the district court, especially if she has years of actual trial experience as a lawyer. Learning the federal rules of procedure and basic federal criminal law will be her first task.
Anyone who has completed the schooling involved to be a lawyer, should at least know the first three articles. They shouldn't need to brush up on the Constitution before the quiz to answer for those. The smirk on her face tells the story. She knew she could tell him to go **** himself and she was still going to get the job. Knowledge, experience, judicious application of the law, had nothing to do with it.
I think it's unfair to in effect blame her inability to answer these questions on her race or ethnicity. I'd prefer to say it's just because she was unprepared. I have no idea whether she is qualified (or not) in general.

As for whether lawyers (or others) should know what is in the various articles of the Constitution, sure that would be great. But that's not really what you study in law school (even Con law). You study cases and particular constitutional clauses (commerce, equal protection, etc.). You don't have to memorize the constitution and you are not quizzed on what is included in each article.
same as above. She should know the first 3 by osmosis. No special studying required.
You can look all that up now in five seconds. Why would it be useful to memorize it?
nevermind

I don't think this was a matter of training and I agree more training is needed. But this act was a brutal inhumane action of animals out of control. They were beating on a defenseless man for God only knows why . My brain can not comprehend this type of behavior towards a man stopped for a "traffic violation". They should know better without any training.

I would like to know what type of traffic violation warranted this. I saw the vido and heard the audio but not one time did I see or hear them ask for his drivers license. They just rushed his car and pulled him out and the beating commenced.

If found guilty I hope these 5 officers never see the light of day.

I agree with John Rich. The RNC will not get any more of my money. I will give it to the candidate I support, not RNC.

I will never give Mitt Romney’s fat bloated whale of a niece any money. I wouldn’t piss on her if she were on fire.
It looks like Ronna’s financial power will be thwarted by the other committee members.

Pillow Man would’ve been awesome.

That’s bs though. ‘What’s the capital of Kentucky? Frankfort,’ doesn’t change because the “WEF and globalists” exist. Google it. Anywhere you look, Frankfort is the capital of KY. From Mumbai to Detroit to Davos and the WEF themselves, it’s always still Frankfort.

Also you think their influence doesn’t extend to schools? If some international boogeyman was able to curate the entire internet to say that Lexington was the capital of KY and not Frankfort that would cover what kids learned in school too. How is American fifth grade such an inviolable sanctuary that they’d still teach the correct capitals when the whole rest of the world said that wasn’t true? They wouldn’t.

Everything about your premise is dumb. Knowing how to get the answer to a question is the same as knowing it. Thinking is what’s valuable. Brains are computers, not encyclopedias. If everyone died tomorrow all those textbooks would sit there useless. Knowledge only matters because of how we use it.

I'm going to take up for Brandon on that one. The reason he didn't salute was because he didn't even know the marine was there. He was staring intensely at the steps because he falls several times a day. Then he turned to his brain, I mean wife, and never once saw the guy. Easy mistake that anyone of his age and cognitive ability could make.

He probably dissed them. I hear that is a bad offense. Might have looked them straight in the eye.
Why? It doesn’t matter at all. Dead is dead.
That's a stupid take, even for you. When is the last time you saw a mob fired up and chanting "defund the lumberjacks"? When have you seen a man with a megaphone shout "death to fishermen'? Accidental deaths occur in dangerous occupations, normally, because the dead person neglected safety rules of the job or safety recommendations for the machinery they are operating. That is a hell of a lot different than sitting in the car and being shot in the head for the simple reason you are a cop.

Wait a minute now. What if only her legs were on fire? You could easily piss on her head and not affect the flames at all. 2 stones, 1 bird, so to speak.

Can you at least agree that CNN making this a racial thing is an idiotic take?
It’s always an issue of class first. If you’re rich enough it doesn’t matter what race you are. But that doesn’t mean race doesn’t play a part in all these things. Race issues are class issues.
