You make a great point. I could not agree more that the GOPe is woefully out of touch with their voters.
What's so humorous is that these polls don't ever put another name up side by side to MM for a vote, just that they don't want MM or whomever. But when someone/whomever is put up, MM slaughters them. Funny I tell ya.

It is amazing how long someone can stay in a position of power when they know where all the bodies are buried. The Republican Party needs to stop trying to match the Democrats corruption and duplicity with leadership like the Turtle. They aren’t as good at those things as the Dems. If they want the support of the people they’ll put up someone with integrity. That’s a narrow field but the other senator from KY certainly fits the bill.

Nobody puts anyone one up. Each chooses/not chooses to run for the spot. And Rand Paul hid.

BTW, who was a better Pub Senate Leader - ever?

Howard Baker for one. I would imagine Bob Dole is far more respected than the Turtle as well. I’m not sure what Mitch has done to make you think he’s been this great statesman. Can you give me some examples?

The first thing the Republicans have to do is stop being delusional. Seriously, until they can actually deal with reality then they're just spinning their wheels.

Republicans were taken in by a bankrupted New York real estate hustler looking to pander to Russia and more specifically Putin for more loans and a Moscow hotel real estate deal. Howard Stern knows Trump well and he called that a long time ago. Trump was rude and utterly lacking in morals and grace yet the Republicans swooned over him because he made them feel like it was OK to be themselves. They finally were allowed out of the closet under Trump. That was the entirety of his appeal. They no longer had to hide their ugliness and pretend to have "Southern Charm" or be constrained by their pious "Family Values" they had locked themselves into playing. They had suffocated themselves and Trump came along and took the my-pillow off their faces.

Keeping up appearances wore on the rural would-be Trump voters. They were tired of being nice and polite in the facade they had created for themselves. So when Trump came along and offered them a way out of the prison they had created they jumped at it and never looked back.

Guess what, nobody believed the Southern manners act anyway so welcome to being human. Now get back to facts, logic, and reason as your guiding principles in life and you'll see once again how great that is. You might even make it "great again."

Well. I mean if Howard Stern says it, it has to be golden. In seriousness I do hope a candidate steps up to challenge and replace Trump. Positive change won’t happen under Trump because the DC machine will continue to do everything they can to destroy him. But one hasn’t stepped up yet and whoever does will have to promise to implement many of the policies of Trump. That’s what the conservative base wants.

How often and in how many trillion posts have you guys, the supposed Conservatives, lectured everyone about personal responsibility?

Do you REALLY think Democrats are responsible for Trump's abject failure and his looming destruction? How can you not see that Trump is completely incapable of controlling himself, is utterly lacking in character, and is morally bankrupt?

Isn't he "personally responsibility" for his own self-destructive actions which have all repeatedly hit the Republican Party with his friendly-fire? Why is that somehow the Democrats fault just for pointing them out to you guys?

Well point them out for me. I’ll be glad to listen. What PROVEN actions by Trump would be cause for the attacks?

That's 9B people. You might to fact check those given earth has a mere 8B total.
You are correct that I picked up bad figures. However, that doesn't change my point that over 75% of the world population is in Asia and Africa. There are not enough resources to bring all the poor nations up to first world status. So your idea of how to deal with growing world population won't work.

Kanye’s running. He just met with Trump about it. And of course Milo and Nick Fuentes because all the best people like to hang out with each other.

He's elected Leader, not statesman. Why do you think those two are better than MM? Give me some examples. More respected by who? Dole respected as a war hero, not for what he did in Senate. Neither as right as Mitch is. RINO's in comparison.

But first, Pubs haven't had another leader near as long tenured as MM. He'll be at 18 years at the end of the coming term. Next longest is 10 - Dole. With that, how can anyone say he's not highly respected by Pubs? Why would they pick someone who can't lead? Crazy idea on the face of it, isn't it?

He stood up to Trump's stolen election bs (Can't wait for the thumbs down & chuckled attached to that truth.) That's enough to make him a stateman.

Help me. What is my idea since I don't know that I have one.
